Great work again! If I may be so rude to put out a suggestion: any chance of a BR Express Blue A1/A3?
Sorry to push in, but I saw and downloaded one on CC the other day, if you would like I could send you the link for it to the creators club online website thingy!
https://creatorsclub.dovetailgames.com/creations/117574 Here it is, I used it yesterday and seemed to look close enough to my a3 express blue 00model so he hasn’t done a bad job at all. You yourself have some absolutely amazing stuff Dave too and have been watching this thread for a long while to see what you’re up to next. Keep it coming mate!!! edit: also none of you would know how they got it to pull those mk1s as when I tried it it wouldn’t move an inch, thanks.
That's a good looking Express Blue A3 by Matt. His repaints are rather good! I might have to have a look at his scenarios too. Thanks for the comments mgbgt, I have another green A3 to upload with a livery variation and I'm working on the coaches in Teak. I'll have a play with the A3 and MK1s and see if there's a driving answer!
i tried one of my A3s with the MK 1s. In Timetable mode, I added the A3 onto P5 at Leeds. The coaches would not load, so I had to load up FS + MK1s and then delete FS. Reversed the A3 onto the coaches and then the train would not move! Could not release the brakes! Is there a vac/air changeover switch on A3s? I thought they were only vac braked.
Fresh from St. Margarets Depot, Edinburgh, 60052 'Prince Palatine' is seen with its cabside yellow stripe to denote its barring from heading south of Crewe under the OHLE. Only a few A3s and A4s received this detail. All that did were allocated to Scotland at the time.
It seems the FS is dual braked. The ejectors are both closed when spawned in, so the vac brakes don't release when you use the train brake. After opening them I managed to get it moving with Mk 1's.
It took me too long to realise that were my livery! I am glad you like it mate, it were a real so and so to make. In all honesty when I were taking the screenshots I just stuck a Peak on the back and pushed it along with the A3 regulator wide open so I didn't have to faff with the reverser, though as said above she is dual braked so you should be able to get them moving!
I am not sure on FS, I just released the brake on A3 before coupling, coupled the coaches up, released their brakes from peak at back on vac, set the regulator to full in FS and pushed with the Peak. I will have a look and see if I can find and then take a screenshot of how to switch tomorrow.
Thanks for help on mk1s all, I will too have a crack tomorrow. Also Matt I wouldn’t expected you to have cheated using a peak!!!
Last A3 uploaded - 60072 'Sunstar' in BR Green with late crests. This loco was built by the North British loco Company, Glasgow in 1924 for the LNER. Numbered as 2571, it ran until 1962.
Been meaning to do this for a while. One of Thornaby's finest, albeit a latecomer... 37667 was an additional rebuild allocation to TE, along with 37521 and 37668. Looking at the pics, I may need to darken the greys a bit, as they seem a bit light. The FM decal was a pain, but I'm happy with the outcome, and I need to consider the 2 versions of TE Kingfisher that this loco had!
I've re-uploaded 37667, made the greys a bit darker to match the in-game 37/5s on TVL. The roof probably needs a bit more yet. I've also made the TE diamond Kingfisher plates, which turned out easier than I thought. Need to look at the transfer version now.
Finished the TE Kingfisher decal in all its multi-coloured glory! I really, really wish you could save items like that to the game for use elsewhere! So, 37667 is now complete with both Kingfishers - official and unofficial - and 'Wensleydale' nameplate. Note the lack of BR arrow, which is correct.
Very nice Dave. Well done. I'm quite happy avoiding crests at the moment. Although I must admit that my ICI 'wavy' logo took as many layers as the rest of the loco and weathering did.
You can't do one without the other! So here is 37668 'Leyburn' in FM colours. When I was naming this in Livery editor, it wouldn't accept the word Leyburn. I have however uploaded it as Leyburn to the CC Hub, so we'll see if it stays up, or crashes and 'burns'!
Didn't think I'd be doing many Railfreight Sector liveries - but here is 37673 in Railfreight Distribution, as used in Cornwall by St. Blazey TMD, mainly for China Clay services.
Also joined by 37677 in Freight Construction, just right for your Peak Forest aggregates duties, and 37689 in Freight Coal
Just uploaded: 37680 in Freight Construction livery, complete with Buxton TMD Depot plaque; and 37698 in Loadhaul livery with odd EWS liveried bodyside door!
If you've subscribed to 37698 in LoadHaul, please note I've edited it and sorted out the cabside doors. You may need to re-subscribe. Dave
The 37/5 keeps on giving... this time 37686 in Freight Construction with black headcodes and 37692 in original Railfreight Grey, but without Railfreight 'nameplate'. I keep almost wanting to call them 37/6s, but they're not - they are definitely 37/5s! The BR Class 37 refurbishment numbering scheme can be a nightmare to suss out, but there was a kind of logic to it, just a complicated one!
An edit... 37692 has been given orange cantrail stripes. I wondered what was missing; the Grey looked too solid! Now broken by the thin orange line of H&S!
And the final 37/5s for the moment. 37676 and 37684 'Peak National Park' , both in Red Stripe Railfreight
So was using 37698 as a base for another loco and discovered I'd not put the cabside number on the dark side! I'll upload a modified version tomorrow. Sorry if its messed you about...
I now move on to 37/4s. Of course, the model is a 37/5 so will not include the ETH equipment, but otherwise the look is quite good. First up are 37402 in 3-tone Grey Freight livery without Sector markings. Named 'Bont Y Bermo' (Barmouth Bridge) in this livery, the loco had been named 'Oor Wullie' while in Large Logo allocated to Eastfield, Glasgow. Second we have 37407 in Transrail 'Big T' livery, complete with 'Transrail' lettering.
Another thread had me check my HSTs and found all my MML 2+8s were missing livery from 2 coaches on each set! Fixed it and also added extra PC numbers. This affects the following, you may need to re-subscribe as I upload them. I've done 43116, which is now 43116 & 43118 43049 is now 43049 & 43062 43053 is now 43053 & 43119 More to follow...
Reuploaded the following: W43002 in Black is now W43002 + W43003 in Black E43064 is now E43064 + E43066 Next up will be the hybrid InterCity / Blue/Grey sets and then the RTC versions. The 2 GWE Prototype versions look ok, it must be a thing with the MML versions.
2 more 37/4s for your enjoyment. 37408 in Large Logo with 'Loch Rannoch' nameplates. Sadly, the Eastfield TMD trademark of the West Highland Terrier (erroneously called a Scottie Dog), has proved to be way beyond my creation abilities. Here's hoping that one day we will be able to import pictures into Livery Editor! Second one is 37430, also in Large Logo, with 'Cwmbran' nameplates.
The owners of 37409 (LSL) have repainted the loco into 'retro' ScotRail livery, a variation of InterCity livery. Although not a livery carried by any of the 37/4 fleet back in the day - only 47/7s and a few 47/4s received it - I think the livery sits well on the class. A pic on BR Blue Forum shows it freshly painted. Now on the CC Hub
HSTs re-uploaded latest: 43029 is now 43028 + 43029 in a Mixed Livery Set 43102 is now 43102 + 43090 in a Mixed Livery Set 43159 is now 43159 + 43162 with RTC Test Train
Moving on to the 37/7s, numerically 37800 - 37803 and 37883 - 37899, here are the first 2 reliveries. Sadly, because of the limitations to the Livery Editor, I cannot remove the bodyside windows near to the radiators, as BR did! 37800 is in original Railfreight Grey livery and 37801 in Railfreight Coal Sector livery
My RTC-liveried HSTs are now re-uploaded. HST RTC livery Version #1 97431 + 97432 HST RTC livery Version #2 97431 + 97432 HST RTC livery Version #3 97431 + 97432 HST RTC revised livery #4 43971 + 43972 So that's all my HSTs done, I think. I do need to go back and do some extra work on 43159+43162 as the RTC coach has lost some lettering and that needs replacing.
43159 sorted. The final 2 of the latest sub-sub-sub-batch of Class 37s - 37802 in Transrail livery and 37803 in Mainline Aircraft Blue livery
Found a pic online that I really like, of 37146 and 47648 at Manchester Victoria and just had to make a version of it. Both locos now on the Hub
Been busy with the repaints: 37883 in Railfreight Metals and 37884 'Gartcosh' in LoadHaul Black & Orange
HST 253004 is represented in BR Blue & Grey, this time based on the GWE version, which allows for coach numbering and gives a better overall look. The Power Cars are 43008 and 43009, and the coach numbers represent the actual 253004 set as far as possible. I've taken more time to produce the InterCity 125 lettering, and also worked on the headlight area.
Finally, a representation of the 1970s Pullman coaches in their unusual Grey / Blue (Reversed Intercity Blue / Grey) livery. This is the livery that was used on the prototype HST too. The coaches should be variants of MK1 coaches, but to enable their use in-game, I have used the GWE MK2 TSO to produce a Pullman 2nd Parlour (PSP), numbered as E352E. By the late 1970s, these coaches made up only part of a rake, and so to pepresent this in-game, load up MK2a Coach rake Bx7, with the GWB TSOs in Pullman Grey / Blue and everything else in default Blue / Grey.
Well, the Pullmans didn't go down as well as I thought - must be too niche! But the HST has and so I will do a few number variants to provide a mini fleet. Next up on the Class 37/7s are 37885 in Undercoat and 37888 in FP livery. 37885 was one of only a few locos to be outshopped from Works in 1996 in a white undercoat, while EWS decided on their corporate livery. As for 37888, this loco was based at Ripple Lane, East London for Petroleum duties and received the full Railfreight Petroleum triple Grey livery, complete with Ripple Lane's 'Flaming Torch' Depot logo and 'Petrolea' nameplates back in 1988.
Well I like the look of the Pullmans Dave. Remember "Niche is good". I'll have to do a scenario for them.
Hi David, I've got a scenario brewing that has the Pullmans in as a passing train. I'd love to see what you do with them. To be honest I'm not that bothered how many subscribe to them - although it was nice when my HST passed 253 subscribers! I've blown the dust off GWB and have begun a couple of scenarios in the mid 1980s, so I'm currently working on WR named Class 47s. At the same time I'm finishing off the remainder of the 37/7 collection and need to add a few more 37/0s in Blue.
