Midland Mainline Update - Patch Notes

That is a BIG list of fixes - and they are substantial too. I'm very hopeful and good things come to those who wait!

 

this will breathe new life into the route, cant wait for the update!

 

Is Pride Park football stadium going to be put in? This is a glaring omission.

It were there last time I played the route.

 

Personally I feel like there is something much bigger coming, usually when a route gets this big of an update it's about to get a DLC. It's not ironic how Skyhook Announced this after their Upcoming UK Gameplay Pack was announced... I have a serious feeling the pack is supposed to be for MML

 

There was a big update after the route released but no new dlc. This is the 2nd one

 

I really feel they should be adding Toton to this route, prior to releasing these fixes. It would appear more appropriate, especially if a new gameplay pack is due by Skyhook.

Fantastic work otherwise, really great effort, and I'm pleased Josh has been a part of the squad developing this update.

 

Would be great it they do extend but please fix those dodgy signals beforehand (feathers facing wrong way on approach to Leicester, wrong calling on indicators, a few incorrect approach controlled sigs).

 

Glad they put a shilling in the meter and got the site back up and running. Update certainly looks good and comprehensive. Who knows, maybe a Class 222 DLC incoming…

 

The before-after pics from the site DO look good. But I´ll pop the champagne bottle only after this patch has been rolled out, is functioning as per announcement and working stuff has not been broken.
Sorry for being the glass-half-empty advocate. But can you blame me, after that unspeakable "Jane-disaster".

 

Not one little bit. But I do have rather more confidence now that Adam is steering the ship.

 

Got to say this I looking extremely promising. Yeah it's taken a bit of time to get here but considering the state of other routes, this patch will be very welcome.

Yeah, I bought MML in a bundle after making sure that "LittleGirlSocks" is gone and won't see a penny. He's already set up a new company to scam investors...

 

Can confirm having someone as enthusiastic as Adam does help things massively. He’s been on top form and has been working tirelessly trying to resolve and improve as many things as possible. I’ve also provided quite a few things in this upcoming update.

Be aware that it isn’t possible to fix absolutely everything, some of which may be related to core issues, however I think everyone involved has done a good job

 

And your lips are sealed as to whether we get a Class 222...?

 

I think you're posssibly refering to the signalling (those issues I mentioned above). So once it's baked in, it's almost impossible to change? (I've suspended my learning in the editor for a bit, so I wouldn't know.)
If so, I hope the builders check and double check those signals.
I maybe in the minority, (probably am) but accurate signalling is up there for me for immersion.

Thanks for the positive feedback regarding the coming update. I'm happy to confirm a few aspects to temper expectations.

• Toton and Ratcliffe areas have not been added to the MML route. Both of those areas require significant development time and that would not have gone well if there were already concerns about the existing route. The aim of this update was to respond to feedback about the current player experience.
• This update has not been designed specifically to support our next DLC release, the two are a convenient coincidence. Fixing the PlayStation crash has been the decider of time and what could be updated while that was being resolved (different people working on the solution and updating the route).
• We haven't addressed everything we have been made aware of. This update has focused on what will be most beneficial to TSW3 players. There will be opportunities in future for the TSW4 version to be updated further if needed.
• Indeed, responses are correct that announcements always sound great (that's their objective). Proof is from the release, and that is certainly what we are most interested in also.
• Our newest DLC to be fully announced soon is not exclusive to Midland Main Line.

 

Hmmm, something that will work with MML, but wont be exclusive.

I saw a leak a while back about a class 27. Could it be that?
Maybe it's a 156 that comes in EMT and regional railways for layers onto pbo, mml and WCl?
Ethier way I'm looking forward to it. This all sounds promising!

The gameplay pack is interesting. Considering it's volume 1, there's probably going to be more.

I'm not opposed to it. I've bought many wagon packs for TSC and they enhance the gameplay, But TSC has many 3rd party scenario creators that use them all the time. We still don't have that on TSW and without a consist editor, there isn't going to be much that can be done with them. No mention of price either.

 

To be fair it is volume 1 so when the next part comes out I’ll see whether it's worth getting both

 

I actually think this is great- we desperately need variety in freight cars and liveries. It adds new services and scenarios too.

I'd love to see a US version, which frankly needs it more. There are myriad tanker leasing companies in the US, so seeing 100 straight DTGX tankers roll by kills immersion pretty immediately. Same goes for the grain hoppers.

Well, can’t say I’ll be picking the new gameplay pack up, the 66 has become very stale now, every single time any UK freight is needed in TSW, it’s another 66.

Yes, the 66 is the UK’s most widely used loco, but it’s TSW’s only modern freight loco & it’s always in EWS livery.

I am not about to pay for more 66 gameplay, and then even more on top of that for Rivets livery pack for the 66, just to get something a tiny bit different.

The ‘creativity’ of UK freight content in TSW needs serious attention.

 

Is the CLP 66 in EWS/DBS livery?
If I remember correctly, Colnbrook to Grain was run initially using Freightliner 66's, and now GBRF 66's.

 

Think I would have preferred to see a loco with it, either a Class 56 or a Class 70. Depends on pricing but a wagon pack is not high on my buying agenda. (Now if they had filled in the blanks with Mark One coaches, that might be a different matter...).

 

Instead of a 66, Why not the following, the Class 59, A Class 56, A Class 67 or 68, I get the 66 is Heavily used in the UK and TSW but come on now. I'm not about to pay for Freight Services that shouldn't even be payware in the first place

 

Totally agree. I am so utterly bored of the 66 I never play any freight scenarios or services now. It’s not the best done loco in the game by any stretch and I, and I’ll bet many others, am completely and utterly over it.

If I buy this it will be purely to see them as AI as, no matter what is simulated behind you, you’re just driving the 66 again and life is too short for that. I would sincerely hope this is no more than £4.99 otherwise I’ll pass.

 

If I want freight I do US or TVL. Cant stand the EWS 66 anymore.

 

Nice! This actually looks like a nice little addition in my opinion. And I really love the fact that it adds scenarios and services to GWE as well - some love to old routes is always welcome!

 

I think we’re all tired of the Class 66, it’s always a mess when selecting it on the menu, which version is the one I want. Like it wasn’t enough we’ll have another pack from Rivet for the “Edinburgh-Glasgow” route, with a special coupler to drag the Class 385. What’s that obsession with the 66 DTG has ?!

 

I can't believe what's more depressing- the fact that some people were apparently excited thinking a 222 or 156 was coming even though that was NEVER a possibility owing to the roadmap not saying "loco add on", or the fact Skyhook think the community will get excited over even more 66 services. Oh but new wagons will definitely justify paying money for it (not).

On the plus side, the update looks fantastic and I can't wait for it.

 

The Class 66 for british routes is like the SD40 for the US routes. While there is no problem with having it available everywhere, some more variety alongside it would be nice...

 

The 142 being able to couple up with the 158 is a great addition

 

Where was it confirmed??? All I've seen is leaks.
