S-Bahn Zentralschweiz: Luzern - Sursee Route: Apart from the SBB RABe 523 4-car EMU do any other trains layer into this route.?
This and LGV (and Arosa) really should be on permanent deep discount given their lack of layering with other routes. I would love to see a true commitment to developing routes outside the “big 3” countries but these one-offs just aren’t worth the investment.
You first need the license which requires a lot of talking and planning and access to reference material. That's down to 3rd parties really. Dtg can't do everything alone.
It desperately needs another train. Throw in an Re 420 and some coaches (plus wagons from other routes) and you've got a decent addon. As it is, it's a wasted opportunity.
Sorry to bring back an ancient thread but picked this up for £5.99 and was pleasantly surprised, for that price at least. Quite a small route but it’s been quite fun going up and down the line.
I have a soft spot for this one too, even though it's not the most exciting or pretty route, to say the least
i wouldn’t mind a remaster on this, i’d play it a lot more as i haven’t touched it in years. the broken etcs, generally sub par scenery and short route length are a big turnoff
Biggest snag for me is that most of the Journey runs are at night, when it’s hosing down with rain or snow. Also a shame it never got extended or a nice classic RE 4/4 with some Schierien stock.
last i checked it is. i think the logic of the system even got changed a while back as sbb demanded so
oh, damn :/ ... what a shame... we really need good ETCS in this game as it is the future of rail, and not only in long-distance (Wien Stammstrecke is currently being converted to ETCS in phases to increase frequency even further)
the ats ecml could be the perfect opportunity to reintroduce it as i believe the rollout began quite recently
This route really has something to it and I like the Flirt. Yes it could be have done lot better, but also worse. I like to play this route from time to time, I do get the Swiss feel with this route and I like hiw much the landscape is changing from city to rural.
isnt Flirt also in the Dutch route? or am I just confusing things? ... that one is done pretty well safety system - wise, tho the rolling resistance is... erm, ehm... as for the route and the train, I was initially thrilled, but my thrill quickly vanished after getting a couple unwarranted ETCS penalty brake applications
What is the problem with ETCS there? I'm considering to buy this route everytime when there is a sale, but I'm thinking everytime about "buggy ETCS" and not buying it, but I have never seen what exactly is bugged.
It’s basically not even ETCS, the signalling on the route works as it does with any other typical route & what that translates to in gameplay is basic block signalling.
well, ETCS should kinda show you speed reductions with braking curve, ahead of time so you have time to react, kinda like ACSES does on some US routes... but often it happens very suddenly, with minimal distance and time to react at all, and what follows is pretty much unwarranted penalty brake application... and the point of ETCS is making sure you know when to brake and to give you enough time for it so you/train is safe
