The Evolution Series Tier 4400 AC traction or ET44AC for short is a 6 axle North American train locomotive. This engine was made by General Electric (now Wabtec) as their first engine with Tier 4 emission standards. What I find unique about this engine is it's large radiator near the rear of the train. Though CSX doesn't own the ET44AC they do however own the ET44AH which is a heavier version of the ET44AC. All units are now equipped with a Nathan Airchime K5HL-R2 and a Graham White electronic bell. Please correct me if any information is wrong and comment your thoughts on this beautiful engine. Hear are some close ups of the engine in several different railroad liveries.
Possibly, but I still love 'em. I've never been a GE vs. EMD guy; if the locomotive looks cool to me and has a great reputation (like the AC4400CW and it's successor, the ES/ET44AC, which are in my top 5 favorite diesel-electric locos), I dig 'em.
I DO NOT like DC traction motors. That's my only stipulation. Yeah they're cheaper, but they can't handle max power at low speeds for long before they overheat, unlike AC to DC to AC.
I personally love EMD engines. What I meant was DTG have made quite a few EMD engines but none have been 6 axle beasts like the sd70ace, sd70, sd60e, and etc.
Man, the SD80MAC was a BEAST. 5,000 hp, 420,000 lb, and 20-cylinder engine. I don't know if you're American, but anytime I hear a "MAC" loco brought up I always think Conrail or Norfolk Southern. I'm also a huge fan of the SD90MAC-II.
TSW needs both the ET44AC and ET44C4. CSX ET44AHs (ET44ACs ballasted for extra weight and tractive effort) could be great for CSX Heavy Haul. Id really like to see the CN, UP, BNSF (ET44C4s), and NS versions, as well as the GE Demo.
ALL of these! Hahaha! I don't understand why DTG says that the CSX Heavy Haul DLC for consoles is "too resource-intensive". Train Sim World on my PS4 is at 30 GB's; CSX Heavy Haul is only 20 GB's on PC...so what's the problem?
The memory needed is not the problem, but the way the map and the locos are saved and computed simply is too much for consoles. The locos alone have either about 5 or 20 times the amount of textures newer ones have, Matt once said in a stream. They simply can't handle that
While very unfortunate to hear, I'm appreciative of you explaining the "labor-intensive" part in further detail. I'm obviously not a PC guy. Hahaha!
