    Hello everyone.

So basically I’m little confused. When I start an early timetable from the depot in The Vorarlberg DLC, all the ÖBB 4024 trains that stand in the depot, has their engine and batteries on. Is that supposed to be like this? And is the train I will drive supposed to have this by default as well?

This was the same case with The Maintalbahn DLC and The BR 642.

Now I went to free room, to see if it was any different. But there I couldn’t even find the trains in their depot at night in both DLC’s.

Electric trains a never really ‘turned off’, they'll still have their pantographs up and their batteries/ auxiliary power can sometimes be left on, that’s prototypical for trains in the UK at least.

    Yea I get it.

But it doesn’t seem right with the engine part. Let’s use The BR 642 as an example that I mentioned. This train is not electrified, yet all of them basically stands in their depot with their engines on in the middle of the night. And I know for a fact, that’s not the case irl.

So I cannot believe the way ÖBB 4024 has everything turned on exactly like The 642, is supposed to be like this irl. But obviously having pantographs up and batteries on, is normal as you mentioned.

I don’t think they’re left on or off for any realism, more just that DTG sometimes get lucky & it turns out they are left on.

Much more likely the stock is just being laid down and that’s that.

Yeah, diesel trains should be turned on in the depot, but I think that fact that they're left on in-game is more of an intentional decision from DTG, possibly to make it easier for us and those who don't know how to start up a train without being told what to do.

I guess it’s supposed to be like this for those DLC’s then. Cause I just tested this with the Island Line 2022 DLC and here all the class 484 was actually off when standing in their depot.

But alright… thx for the respond tho.

Yea this was exactly what I had in mind to. But I just didn’t know, if it was supposed to be like that by default or it was something I could turn off in settings. The Island Line 2022 with the class 484, is for instance off when standing in their depot at night.

The Chiltern stock stabled at Stourbridge Junction used to have their engines running, all night if I recall, I believe it was to keep the batteries charged. Residents living nearby started to complain and I believe now they are switched off.

It was the same at Scarborough depot with the TPE trains and locos. The locals complained and TPE had to stop stabling stock there temporarily.

Matt (DTG) has said in the past that the Ai's can not start the trains in the sim.
Therefore all the Ai trains in the Depots/yards will all have to have their engines running when the sim is started.

For clarification - it can't start them up, but it will happily drive them around regardless.
