    Food =\= Software

Maybe we should all just stay quiet about everything & just let TSW’s content be dictated on sales alone. Then we can all sit & play TGV & ECML all day.

Food and software is not the same thing hence being a poor analogy. If I saw something on the menu, that probably didn't look good though, I wouldn’t order it

How are they different? We aren't talking about our daily bread here, but a restaurant appetizer. A luxury good, just like videogame DLC is a luxury good. Both entirely optional purchases; one could easily do without, and spend the money on a football ticket or some new socks.

One is something that you would eat once, the other is something that you would keep. Just because it's optional doesn't mean people can't say anything about it. There are those that still don't seem to understand that just because you don't have to buy something that it doesn't make it immune from criticism

Had a nice run MML with one of the new oil services. It was HEAVY (almost 3000t), and tricky to get through the 10mph at Weaver Junction without grinding to a halt. I think the tankers look nice.

Looks nice. But is there no snow forming on the tankers?

I have as well as was discounted and as i own the 2 routes the price was lower as well. Had a quick look and they are rather nice looking wagons. It makes a route more populated so i am all for it tbh.

Just having a drive on GWR before work and i think they look really nice and you certainly feel the weight in them when pulling away

Also enjoying the pack, the 10% off in Steam definitely sealed the deal. ;)

LucaZone Just gave some of these a go.
On the Great Western Express timetable, all of the "loaded" services are actually empty.
All 8 of the services have the same weight of "536.6" tons, regardless of whether they are marked as loaded or empty in the description. Which for 16 TEA tankers is clearly empty.

If you own MML and GWR you got it cheaper on the bundle with them as it deducts the price of the routes making the tea pack cheaper again

I bought it too (there are some very bitter people around).

The wagons are very nicely modelled and sound good. It will add a bit more variety to MML and GWE. Including the discount for me it is worth the money.

I did find the braking very challenging, I rarely drive the class 66 and have never really got used to the brakes on it and ran through a red signal at the end of Derby platform 3!

It would have been great to have had a new loco with it, but that of course would make it more than just a wagon pack. I can't say I am a fan of the class 66 either in real life or in the sim but it certainly feels like you are driving a heavy freight locomotive with the challenges that it brings.

If a class 60 was ever released for MML I would be very happy.

What interests me reading some of these replies is the sense of weight. This is something that has always been missing for TSW freight trains and so I may well buy this as they will be worth it if I actually drive them and don't just use them for the AI variety that I would have done.

Yeah you definitely feel it on the 2000+ Ton trains on MML. Have to be VERY aware of your signals for stopping distances. Otherwise you will SPAD as it takes so long to stop. Doubly so if its wet, and you're going down a gradient.

Yes I fell foul of this, couldn't stop at Derby before the red signal, I thought I had started braking early enough, I also went through the 10mph speed limit much too fast! I would definitely have been getting tea and biscuits with the management!

Actually, according to my investigations, the loaded wagons do not meet the braking performance standards currently in force. There should be some load compensation that increases the brake force when the wagon is loaded (there's a sensing valve for this on one corner, attached to the primary suspension of one wheel), but this must not be active - so it's applying the "empty" brake force for a loaded wagon.

The minimum braking performance is average 4%g (0.4 m/s^2) deceleration after a few seconds' "freewheel time", the latter due to brake timing settings and the length of the brake pipe. Back of the envelope shows that this should allow stopping from 50mph in about half a mile. The TEA wagons supplied with the Class 40 pack meet this requirement (I estimate about 500-600m), but the new ones do not (somewhere about a mile).

Excessive speed and a SPAD? That's 100% no tea and no biscuits with management

I got the pack. But oh boy! Stopping them was not my cup of TEA. Couldn’t even bring it to a stop for over a Mile with the fully loaded 24 Car train. Ultimately SPAD it twice. It just doesn’t stop.
