There are a lot of things, I want to know about publishing a route, or in general content:
    • How do I reach out to DTG about releasing content, and how will this go?
    • Can I use DTG's assets?
    • Can I use DTG‘s trains?
    • Can I use assets/trains from other developers?
    • Paying taxes on income / generally revenue?
    • Are there any quality/quantity standards(route length, sound design, accuracy, etc)?
    • How can I license stuff, like logo's, etc?
    • What are things I have to watch out for at the start of building my route? (stuff I might not be in able to change later)
I am not just interested in the correct answer, but I also want to know, what other people think about, how it works.
    :]

You have to reach out to their third party team, there's an email address floating around somewhere, you should be able to find that. I suspect you can use DTG and third party assets and trains but no guarantee, and probably not for free. Paying taxes varies from country to country and is your duty to figure out ;)
Finish your track laying especially in station areas before you start working on your final timetable, if you have to split tracks anywhere to adjust elevation then track ribbon references start shifting around and your stopping points may no longer be where you want them to be.

Set the quality as high as you want it to be. You select the route, make it accurate the recreate the sound as accurately as possible which means getting high quality sound recordings. Prove yourself. I think with licensing, dtg need to also hold the license since they publish the products. Or you could release unbranded content.

Apart of the answers already given, I'm also one who patiently is waiting for answers to many questions you raised but also some I have, from DTG's (official party) side. No excuses, or "I assume this or that", just some plain general facts and rules we all need to comply to and how DTG thinks about how far our route developememt can go and how far not, the terms and conditions of the PC Editor usage.

And adding to that, that all of these are completely independent of whether I intend a commercial creation or not. Because you also can infringe copyright etc. without any commercial purpose but just for releasing and publishing content which is not yours.

Patienly missing a clear answer from them for the legal point of view and our legal possibilites, what we can do and what not. This is urgently needed.

I assume that we can use assets of DTG since the masterclasses implied that can we do so when we of course own the dedicated DLCs with the assets.

Since we only can publish the routes through TSW4 and upwards I also think the limits are pretty much bound to and if you plan a commercial release, you only can do so in accordance and consensus between Dovetail Games and you, the creator.

    But again, official statements needed.

Also it interests me, in which way we are allowed to modify DTG assets?

Yes, this is a thing I'm really interested about as well since I would like to use some assets from Niddertalbahn and the Maik Goltz content, since the quality of the vegetation (which I only encountered so far) is a lot better than in the standard DTG DLCs.

Plus of course the BR 628, which probably is the main train for now on my route.

But how far am I allowed to do so?

To answer this, the masterclasses were supposed to give us the hints and answers we need to care about, what to do right and in which order. Unfortunatley, since more than 2 months any masterclasses or tutorials here in the Forum miss out, and we creators are practically left alone to the advice of ourselves and some third-party documentation/tutorials, which indeed can help, but don't give any clue to TSW Editor and route/timetable creation related problems.

I really don't want to annoy one with that, but DTG Alex , dtg_jan, DTG JD Could you redirect this concern to the legal department of your company and give us some answers about the exact legal conditions? I do not want to infringe anyone's copyright but in case I would get a letter with stating me to have infringed any copyright and take legal actions against me, I would argue with the point of a lack of instructions about the legal aspects of route creation and the usage of someone's content within my project.

    Thank you in advance.

Not to be personal or anything, but judging from your other posts in this forum. But with your own route creation aren't you massively overestimating yourself? Are you creating the tram with real measurements and information? Creating a route and vehicles is more than just guesstimating how big the stuff is and how it behaves.
Also, are you even over the age of 18 to be commercially liable?

I know, this sounds like me being an absolute LOVE, but I don't mean it this way, really.

I actually am getting a lot of progress on my tram 3d model, but I assume, it might take years to complete some stuff. Like a lot of people I have no experience in building routes, but it's fun, and in germany we say: "Wer nicht fragt, bleibt dumm".
