I don't know when DTG close for the holidays and not sure where this thread should go, but: A Very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all at DTG and Rivet, SHG, Just Trains, Simtrack and other partners and to all members of the forum. Despite our differences at times, I know we all want the best 2024 for TSW. Peace and joy be with you all this holiday.
I have to get with the above sentiment and wishes I wish that we all get to see TSW keep improving, as well as all the partners and players
Yep, happy holidays to everyone at DTG, and all the third parties! Thanks for making our hobby a reality!
In the UK we only have 3 statutory days off being 25th/26th December and 1st January, with the immediately following Monday and Tuesday being substituted if they fall at the weekend, so my assumption would be DTG will be open for business until and including 22/12 and returning 2/1 with a possible early finish on 22/12 Though of course individual staff will very likely have booked leave for the days prior Merry Christmas and early happy new year to all at DTG
Happy Christmas to all. As much as I get cranky with TSW I love it. And I’m thankful we even have a train simulator.
Merry Christmas to everyone. I just want to highlight the original post by Crosstie We have all had our differences on this forum. But I think we all share one common interest. TSW. And probably the railway in general. I hope there are less conflicts going forward and I wish the best for everyone on here, Staff and partners alike. Have a very merry Christmas folks and a happy new year. I look forward to seeing what TSW4 brings to the table next year.
Happy Christmas to all at DTG and everyone on the forum, even those with whom horns occasionally lock! We are all here because we love the hobby and TSW, for all its flaws, is the one programme I keep coming back to after playing all the rest. Best wishes too for the New Year and hope that 2024 sees DTG innovate and delight us, going forward.
Merry Christmas! Thank you for the kind wellwishes. We'll put out an announcement when we finish up for the holidays (DTG Jamie and I finish up next Tuesday, DTG Alex tomorrow, DTG Matt today (but does he actually ever take 'proper' holiday anyway), and dtg_jan / DTG-Chris are in until the bitter end of next week) - but thanks for all your continued support. Next stop: 2024, after today's release of SimTrack's Regional Railways pack!
Hi mate I was wondering if you wanted to show your support and spread these messages over this season of good will. By adding to my support for DTG over the year and basically leave a message that I will place on a project livery if you like. I’ve got a few places left I’ve not fully released all the project details as do not want to give to much away. But this post perfectly describes the sentiment I am looking for,I just recently have said myself we may have had our ups and downs with DTG but can we put that all to one side and see the positives for once. Especially with what’s going on in this country and around the world. I’m a little fed up and I’m sure we all want to just have some fun. So yes let’s put all that to one side have a laugh and some fun on the run up to this holiday season. If your interested then more information is available on the CC page under Support for DTG kind message and The Works Shed. I’ll hope you join us mate,,,I feel it’s something you’d be interested in. Cheers. Lee (TSLP).
Sounds like I’ve got the expressions right then. (Hush Hush). All will be revealed soon. Lee. (TSLP).
Yes Merry Christmas to all at DTG, after this year I think it is fair to say a good break is deserved.
Lots of negativity lately, so this is a break we all need, I feel Merry christmas to everyone and take care
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all at DTG Towers. Hope that you and your families have a great time and that Santa is generous with the prezzies. Now go and get a few sherbets in.
Yours mate it’s that type of little message like that i am looking for to place on this livery I am doing for my TEAM DTG Project. I say mine but I want it this livery in particularly to be community one. And I think we may all be on the same lines here after such eventful year and for some it maybe more than just that. A way we can share our thoughts about DTG in a positive light for once. Because in a turn of fate what started out as me moaning at DTG has turned into this. So if I can turn something negative around then I’m sure we as a community can do the same. Let’s lift the spirits a little,,,so just seeing if you or anyone else is interested that was all. For on a Personal note here mate DTG and one special staff member there completely changed my perspective in away and helped me in more ways than one. Either that or I’m getting back to normal. (I wish). DTG as a company and the staff there really did show me they care and I wanted to show my gratitude and support for this company that some feel don’t care. They do and they went out of there way for a somebody like me. So yes I noticed your posts this morning and credit where credit is due,,,let have some fun and positivity. Lee.
Isn't this what the holidays are all about? Just a group of trains hanging out talking about friends. Or is it a group of friends hanging out talking about trains?
See look their all chillin,,,I’ve for all there original classic in a massive box set in fact,,,,,,,,
Here ya go,,,,43 and a child still in me. I loved them as a kid and still do hence why I own these. I had load of stuff from a kid but lost it some years back in a big house move,,,this is all I have left of that childhood nostalgia Hope you like me jumper. Lee.
Haha. You have just inspired me to (once again) watch some Thomas. A marvellous show. Awdry's original books are some of the best ever written. Always a good read.
Interestingly enough there was some fairly decent publicity for Thomas and Friends recently. John Oliver did a segment a couple days ago where he made his own Thomas adventure (with Henry) illustrating some saftey issues with trains here in US currently.
Seeing as Thomas has come up I hear that the original 'official' real life Thomas is up and running again and were used at the Nene valley last weekend. That one does have a very creepy face!
Oh man you need to I often watch them like I do with many old shows. Like Love Boat and Last of the Summer Wine,,,I just all that stuff. Watching all these shows not only take you back to where many of us found our love and for some their careers. A time if innocence not like stuff on TV today. I love the old fun stuff from a kid to stuff like Boys from the Blackstuff. Seen as child for real and to watch back brings back many found yet sad memories at the same time. Maybe a good year to remember those that are sadly no longer with us. Why I kept my books for they are beautiful in every way,,,the illustrations the stories just perfect and why as much as my kids love technology as young ones I made sure I read them Thomas the Tank Engine. The days of innocence sadly gone for many now. So sure man be a big kid and bang then on. There pure classic and most certainly one of my first passions. Have a good one man. Lee.
Oh believe me, I do. Not like I can forget it, it's the reason I like trains and what actually inspired me to go into the railway business (the primary reason anyway). They are true classics and something for all to enjoy. On another note: Merry Christmas to all. Don't be naughty, be nice. You'll get presents then.
See there ya go and why there are true classic in more way than one. I’ll try catch up with you soon if that okay. I didn’t expect this to kick of,,,so best be cracking. Merry Christmas to You and to all this wonderful season. And please don’t mention presents it will only be a pipe and slippers again. Haha.
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays, everyone! I think this year has been very nice for TSW. In my opinion, we can say in retrospect that TSW4 is a very good step that changes up the gameplay and possibilities significantly. It has certainly improved my gaming experience. We also had some great routes, like our first journey into vintage German mainline action. The third party developers really upped their game with incredible releases from TSG and Just Trains, some nice post-release patch updates from Skyhook and interesting innovations from Rivet. Next year will undoubtedly be another good one with lots of add-ons on the roadmap and many new third parties joining in. I‘m personally looking forward to the remastered West Somerset (a location I visited this summer, more on that below) and the Rosenheim-Salzburg route (I live just 2 hours away, and the Chiemsee right next to the mainline is my favorite lake). On a personal note, TSW inspired many of the locations I visited during my trip to the UK this summer. We went to the aforementioned West Somerset Railway, to the Isle of Wight, Brighton & Seaford, rode the Bakerloo Line, took the Azuma to Edinburgh and journeyed to Glasgow. And I‘m sure I‘m forgetting a few things now, it’s been a few months! Without TSW, I‘m not sure if we would have even gone to the UK. It simply opened my eyes to so many cool areas and locations all over the country. The forums also have a share in that because there are so many friendly faces here, always sharing cool stuff and up for a chat. Thanks to the DTG team, the third parties and all of you, the forum members, for a great year!
Merry Christmas and a prosperous new year to all on the forums and at DTG. I feel it has been a good year for train simming. I am looking forward to what next years brings, hopefully a lot less angst and a lot of interesting new releases and maybe innovations.
Re Thomas, I was always more into Ivor the Engine with Jones The Steam and all that. Then there’s that series of books which I can be darned if I can recall the author or titles, set on a country branch line. All I can remember is the driver was called Olly (or Ollie) Took. And no, Google has never helped solve that one.
Always loved Thomas, at least, when it was still done with actual models. That shot of Henry pulling away with the goods train on the docks at night is ingrained in my mind. 1:42 In regards to other things similar to Thomas, there’s also something lovely in Germany that probably contributed to a lot of childrens’ fascination with trains: Jim Knopf und Lukas der Lokomotivführer (Jim Button and Lukas the locomotive driver). It’s a childrens’ book about a fantasy island with a single loco, named Emma, running on it. It was also adopted into a famous puppet play by the Augsburger Puppenkiste (Augsburg’s puppet chest).
Oooh, also similar to Thomas (get ready all my US railfans) is the Brave Locomotive. It's just a short, not a series, but was just super adorable.
I was going to make a joke about if TTE was made today they'd all be MUs since steam isn't really a thing these days, but it appears the thought was already out there Meet Kenji "Kenji is a high-speed electric engine from Japan, who visited Sodor for The Technology Fair."
As per the times change and things move on,,,I was proper gutted about GCI being used on TTE and then Chuggington came along. So if you not seen the lovely collection in that Kids BBC programme then check it out. You may have to wear year protectors tho. You’ll get what I mean. My ears was subjected to it for hours,,,back when they was young. Now it’s stupid Fortnite. Kids a?.
Marry Christmas to everyone on this forum, including of course all DTG members. The best wishes for your and your families!.
Your is done but I am having issue sending directly at the mo. I hope to sort this soon,,,gotta go. Thanks again David all the best to you and your loved ones. And to all on here this festive season. Lee.
I have to say, that Thomas episode is my favourite. That clip in particular is a 20 second fully uninterrupted clip with no dialogue whatsoever, perfectly encapsulating how heavy Henry's train is.
