Simple query I think. As DTG have opened up the Unreal Editor to us minions, what is the story about using other peoples creations? If some talented person has created a masterpiece, can they share it? If so, where would I browse/download these? thanks Pete
yes https://www.trainsimcommunity.com/ is a popular website for TSW/TSC/other train/tram sims mods, repaints, fixes patches etc. where many creators share their work. it only works on PC because if you would want to share content on the console, you'd A: need to change some file structure so it is compatible with the console you want it to be on and B: need the rights from for example Sony to release it on the PS Store, same goes for X-Box and whatever else there is. as only DTG has those rights and permissions, and you can't just simply obtain them with one mail, you are unfortunately only limited to sharing your content to other PC players. there may be a chance that if somebody's work is so damn cool, they write DTG, and DTG may even consider putting it out as payware as long as it meets some specific conditions (licenses, asset re-usage/new asset creation, etc.), so it'll be available on consoles aswell as DTG would publish it there aswell, as long as the path structures or whatever needs to be changed matches for the consoles aswell. I've learned part of this from Folezz so if something is wrong, blame him TL;DR: train sim community but only PC. no console. except when [read full text above]
There is currently no way to cook content made through the unreal editor. Dtg are working on allowing that. They could upload on their own website or the tsc website.
its just a missing cooking feature, and there are no votes, just facts. if DTG fixed their mistake people WILL be able to pack up their stuff and send it out
