    Hi folks.
As we are now into TSW4 and with all these amazing add-ons coming out and I am loving the TSW 4 experience. I would like to propose a modern day Class 60 Locomotive Pack for consideration please. In particular in DB Schenker/DB Cargo livery.

[IMG]60062 Kingsbury 18/02/19. by 37260 - 14 million views, many thanks, on Flickr

For rolling stock and my observations from 2017. The DB Class 60's are used on the tanker train workings from Lindsey to Kingsbury, Lindsey to Jarrow oil trains and the Wolverhampton to Immingham steel trains which the routes that the Class 60 could be inserted to is as follows:

ECML around the Newark and Doncaster areas
MML around the Nottingham and Derby areas of the route

If DC Rail/GBRF were to be included in the pack, I am sure they could be added into those route where the real trains work and other routes where applicable. As I left England in 2017. I have never seen a DC Rail/GBRF Class 60 or know their workings but I am sure others will know where they would fit in on the working timetables and routes.

    What do you think?

About time we get another British heavy freight locomotive. I also want a Class 70. The Class 60 is a great idea, too.

Upon playing the 6E86 Rectory Junction - Lindsey Oil Refinery late last night with the Class 66 between Grantham and Newark Northgate, this used to be worked by Class 60's up until 2017 when Colas used their Class 60's before Class 70's took it over. I would think that if DTG doesn't have the licence to use Colas Rail. They would be safe with the DB and EWS liveries like that used on the Class 66's in the roster. Also an EWS Class 60 wouldn't look out of place alongside the Azuma's too much either. But please DTG, give us working AWS and alerter systems in the Class 60 so we can have more immersion and to give us the chance to rack up a platinum medal through merit. As when I played the Class 66 scenario, it felt like cheating without being able to turn on the AWS and the DSD/Alerter.

Excellent idea overall and furthermore it needs to have a paint scheme to fit 1989-1997 British Railways era

I wouldn't say no to a BR era pack either. Maybe we could have a Volume 1 for the privatisation era (EWS, Cappagh/DC Rail, DB Schenker/DB Cargo, Colas Rail and GBRF) and a Volume 2 (BR, Loadhaul, Mainline and Transrail) as add on packs. From the feedback I am getting on this project. I think this would be a good add on for DTG to consider.

Great shout this it would be good to finally have a different freight train in the game instead of the constant class 66

Absolutely, a 60, 67, 69 or 70 or some combination thereof would be great.

Tugs would be a fantastic idea. Any new heavy freight locomotive would be awesome.

With 60081 being owned by LSL, I am sure Hornby/LSL would provide access to DTG if they wanted to do 60081. It was recently cleaned up at Toton just lately.

I agree with all the above, I would like to see a Tug or even a Fugly (Class 70) in game to provide contrast and variety to UK freight and the Class 66 which constantly is getting reused in several modern day UK routes :)

Okay, now with the recently received news about the upcoming TEA tanker pack, this will make it more viable for a Class 60 pack to come along nicely for this tank wagon pack. This would be right for 2010 to present day 2023 if DB Cargo livery is to be implemented. However from February/March 2024. If the Class 60's will have a future or not on the railways is uncertain because there are talks of the Class 60's being withdrawn by DB in 2024. If DTG are to do a Class 60 Pack, it might be worth them getting in touch with DB to get data, recordings, sounds and photos/videos etc sooner than later. If there are any plans to make a Class 60 Pack for TSW4.

Come to think of this topic. There could be potential to make two packs of the Class 60 for DTG.
    Pack 1 - Modern Day (2000-2023)
EWS/DB - DTG Have The License to make this one
    DC Rail/Cappagh - Unknown
    Colas Rail - Unknown
    GBRF - Unknown

    Pack 2 - British Rail
    Coal Sector
    Petroleum Sector
    Metals
    Construction

Possibly Pack 3 (Could be rolled into Pack 2)
    Transrail
    Mainline
    Loadhaul

Obtaining sounds should not be an issue if they team up with AP/Legomanbiffo (the latter does a cracking DCC sound pack). I have a book on the Class 60's from Edward Gleed that I would be happy to mail it to DTG if they need it for reference/data if they are interested in it.

A 60 would be great.. honestly at this point any other UK freight loco. 60 would be great as it could layer onto plenty of other routes I think. Another train I'd like is the Class 70; that could fit in with the new TEA tanker add-on (as could the 60), and it could also (again, like the 60) layer onto quite a few routes... Sadly I don't really think anything like this will happen soon, but hopefully I'm wrong!
I mean, even some new 66s would be decent, with new liveries and new styles, like ones with the modern LED lights (like the style 323s and most modern MUs have) or even ones like the Colas lights, not sure as to whether these headlights clusters have a specific name - if they do, please tell me! ;)

Now I wouldn't mind having this come to the game, as there would be different freight trains in the game then, instead of just seeing the class 66 everytime. But it really depends on if dovetail sees this as I hope this loco does come to tsw4 one day. But anyway great suggestion!!!

Yeah, it'd be nice finally having some more variety when seeing/driving freight aside from 66 after 66 after 66... Good thing with the 60 is that they could use the EWS/DB licence, and then obviously CC could make GBRf, Colas and all the others a thing... Wishful thinking: I hope not!

Nah I don't think it's wishful thinking, but i wouldn't mind seeing those different livery on the 60 anyway as it would just look amazing instead of the 1 livery I'd say lol..

I would definitely be up for some class 60 freight (once they’ve fixed Z-Fighting of course), modern-modern ish freight trains are definitely needed and lacking quite a lot for TSW

I am really loving the feedback on the Class 60 in terms of the posts and the popularity. If DTG or SkyHook Games don't have plans to do the Class 60. I wonder if we could set up a crowdfunding project to fund the Class 60 project and outsource the work to JustTrains, Skyhook Games or Rivet Games to produce the Class 60 for TSW4 that would be an epic release for 2024?

The routes that the Class 60 could utilise would be the MML, ECML, Blackpool Branches, GWE, Manchester to Glossop Line, Trans-Pennine Northern, London to Brighton etc. Or at least where these would fit on those routes.

As for the liveries. I would think tat DTG or whoever does decide to take on this Class 60 project. I would say that the BR era as well as EWS, DB Cargo would be a safe bet to produce these liveries in the payware pack right off the bad as where the DCR/Cappagh, GBRF and Colas would need to be licenced still. However, there is the livery designer in the creators hub that would take care of those liveries.

Oh and for fictional liveries (yep I like them too), we could do BR Green, BR Large Logo, and other fun and novel liveries for some fictional and fun based let's plays.

It's a good idea; Class 60 (or any new freight loco) so I feel it was obvious you'd get some good feedback to be fair! Only thing that could be a bit limiting with the 60 is what era of 60 do we want, do we want more of a modern day one (GBRf/DB/EWS etc) or do we want an older time one (Rail Freight, Load Haul etc) - I say that because I doubt TSW would make two different 60s for different eras, and obviously routes.. as awesome as it'd be - but, that's where the trusty CC comes into play I guess, like you said.
I really do hope something like this happens, beit Skyhook, JT (I would definitely prefer if JT did it, with their quality), or even Rivet! Honestly at this point even if we had a 3d box with a PNG image of a 60 on it, I'm sure I'd use that instead of the 66.. I love Class 66s but they get too much after a bit... :P

In truth, the reason I mentioned a possible series of Class 60's as packs is because DTG being a business. Or any of the others for that matter is to make the idea viable for them to implement it and make a profit. But if they did a mega pack of BR and DB/EWS liveries and charged about £20 for it. I would buy it because it would give us something new and enjoyable. I am hoping that DTG or SkyHook Games have found this topic and noted the feedback on it. If not, I am going to make enquires with a plan to possibly do a Kickstarter project for a Class 60 Pack to make it viable to do.

I am sure Skyhook Games, Rivet Games or JustTrains would be able to give me a quote for the costs involved to sub-contract the work to them to make the Class 60 pack happen. They have the licenses for the DB/EWS branding and I could muck in and send them the data needed to do the work. I have the book on the Class 60's from Edward Gleed and I have some photos that I have done in my time when I used to live in England as well as some other useful data.

Well I have been thinking of another idea of setting up a new company named as APT Creations or something like that with my initials but because I don't have the modelling skills although I can make scenarios just fine. I would have to sub contract the work to another company to make the Class 60 and the wagons like Skyhook Games or JustTrains and Armstrong Powerhouse for the sounds. But I am not afraid to collaborate though. Let's see if we can make this happen in one way or another.

I would be more than happy to jump on a Zoom call if need be.

Sorry to have misinterpreted that mate. But I am looking to seeing one in the future though mate. Also with DB Cargo rumoured to be withdrawing their in 2024. If anyone needs new sounds or anything. They will need them sooner than later.

    This video will show why.

Well the good news is that this post and the other Class 60 post getting a lot of likes should be a positive signal to DTG or Skyhook Games or anyone that there is a demand for the Class 60 and that means from a customer sales perspective there is buyers waiting to purchase the said add-on. Let's make this happen!

Oh and if 60062 is to be included in its current livery as the Steel on Steel variant. Here is a photo of it I found on Flickr. 60062.png
Not my photo but I thought I would present it to DTG for consideration as the DB Class 60's are now all parked up at Toton since being stood down this year.

I really wish I could have seen that 60 while it was out and about, I saw it getting worked on in Arpley Sidings but couldn't get any pics of it sadly.
Anyway, I really hope if this new loco is a DB 60, that one is included.. either way it'll get made eventually with the CC I guess!

I am sure DTG could do it as DB designed and made that special livery, so no trademark or copyright issues to worry about. Also if you wanted a model of 60062 post-2022. Rails of Sheffield are doing a Cavalex Models OO gauge one if interested. I am getting one as well as 60010. Speaking of which. I think DTG should reach out to Cav from Cavalex Models and get him involved in the DTG Class 60 DB Pack for TSW 4 as he is working on a new sound pack for their model and DTG could licence the sounds from Cav to be used on this pack. His username at RMWeb is RBE if DTG need to make contact with him. I have spoken with him personally and he is really a nice guy to deal with. Maybe DTG Matt or DTG Adam could speak to Cav from Cavalex Models and see what happens.

We must encourage every new possibility for a new freight locomotive to be brought by DTG. 66 is now...
