The 2023 Steam Award nominees were announced today and there is a surprise for me - Train Sim World 4 is nominated for the Sit Back and Relax category. The voting starts on 21st December at 10 am PST (18:00 UCT).
Hello,,,am not sure if you are aware but I’m a currently working on something special. A TEAM DTG Project. If I could kindly ask if you would like this to be brought to the wider publics attention. There for would you like me to fit it in to the design. It will fit for one specific named unit. Many Thanks. Lee (TSLP).
Man what a game City Skylines is. How far games have come. I remember playing SimCity on PS1 by Maxis. Great game until EA got there hands on all those fantastic game developers that sadly are long gone eaten up by big greedy corporations. What happened to just a fun rewarding game.
It's simple. Fun rewarding games don't please the shareholders. Live-service cash shop-driven grindfest with psychological manipulation and incentives to spend money... do.
You hit the nail the head. It’s disgusting what they do. The poor kids that are left to just get addicted to these games NOT DTG there not like that in any way. The whole industry is aimed at getting kids addicted. That’s not fun to see kid be like that. Games where fun a way to unwind have a blast on your Atari or even the Atari Jaguar or the much loved Nintendo NES, SNES,,,I Loved the Sega Dreamcast. I stared on on Tapes for games on Commodore C64 or ZX Spectrum. Sinclair. It was fun I could even have a game of James Pond…what a laugh. Sadly you and I know those days of innocent fun are long gone. Even as I speak which has distracted me from very urgent work my sons kicking of because he can’t have money for V buck for a stupid skin. What is going in?. I know but this is not the place for politics or the failings of society. Peace my friend.
I find it crazy that, a game that we had to pay 4 Times already not to mention the current buggy state it's in is crazy
Nice that TSW4 is nominated, but that's some tough competition. Dave the Diver is very relaxing. Actually just bought Cities 2 yesterday, but haven't gotten a chance to play it yet.
Absolutely not. The duration isnt really the problem its the length. For example the upcoming GOBLIN is about 40 minutes however its the full line. BUT they could have added the north london line as the goblin is only 13 miles. I wish routes were atleast an hour if they arent end to end.
They should form part of a network like SEHS though. There shouldn't really be 13 mile routes being sold imo. Should include two branch lines in that case or something like that. I barely touch Glossop now, as it's just always the same. One type of EMU, doing the same kind of services, on a short line.
Yes the size doesn't matter () but it's more about the branches. For example DRA isn't that long, only 70km if I'm not wrong. And there is GWE or Kassel-Würzburg that are long but boring like hell.
I disagree. Short lines also have their own charm. If it is a short line in real life, then I am happy to accept it at it is. The only problem is with real life longer lines being cut short, like Harlem Line stopping at North White Plains or the new swiss route being cut in half.
Hello thanks for okaying that and getting back to me,,,sadly I have quite literally placed the livery up on CC. Hence why am here now just before I pass out from exhaustion. Maybe if I do an up date then,,as I always miss or spot something when it’s too late. Cheers. Lee.
Oh nice, ill vote for it, also i think it fits the category or does anyone find TSW stressful? But i think CS2 will get it, apart from also not being flawless, at least i dont have to visit NASA to borrow one of their PCs to Play TSW. :p
Hi I’d have to pick up on the stressful part,,and agree with you. This game can be very very relaxing so I’d vote for and support any day of the week, yet we also have to be realistic and as always be honest. Being open and honest I feel is the best policy any two parties could have. I’ve completed all of SMH and SPG as I love doing the long slow grind up the narrow passes and down the steep inclines. I love GWR the SEHS and ECML all are relaxing to point I’ve often been woken by DSD, TPS, AWS there are so relaxing. How real drivers get on is an indication of how hard they have to constantly concentrate. So you could say if in difficult conditions in the game or running to a tight schedule then it can be also stressful. That’s just trains. The part that can or often found is if one chooses to sit down after a long days graft to play TSW and RELAX well they probably are doing until,,BAM the game crashes or has some hissy fit. Sometime after a long drive too. So yes It can get very stressful as all those little faults will build up pressure. Which is why as much as I love TSW and clearly a supporter I’d also like to say I’m an honest man too,,so I will be fair no matter what. They have a great team and great game but they also have to stop leaving silly little faults in,,,it not only spoils it for us but just one little thing in the game can let all the rest of the others team hard work down. It’s a TEAM so work like one,,,leaving faults in will always let someone else’s work down. I should now,,,as a team you support each others progress by understanding how you all work individually and bring that all together as a GREAT TEAM. One weak link and it can let the whole team down. That what’s so frustrating,,,we all love TSW or we wouldn’t be here or have so much passion when things go wrong. We don’t hate or dislike it just frustrating to see something so good but is simply let down by one tiny bug that impacts the rest of game play. It’s so disappointing my self is subjected to it now. A project I let down myself by rushing being tired. I let myself down and those that supported me. So this why I’m on line to say I’m on it and will fix it. I won’t let the TEAM down. Or users of my work. Why PRIDE in what I do. All the best and seasons greeting you (TSLP).
When there were nominations, I nominated "Steam Engine Simulator", as I haven't found any other game released this year that I played being more relaxing. TSW isn't exactly relaxing, as you need to pay attention to what you do, unless you create your own custom scenario, hence I won't be voting for it. I'll probably be voting for "Potion Craft" instead, as although I don't have it, it looks much more relaxing than any of the other games on the nominated list.
Of course it's all relative. I just bought Sonic Powered's Journey To Kyoto as it was on sale. The total length of the route (Eizan Electric Railway) is just over 14km or about 9 miles. Yet the full asking price is not far off £50 (and although it's good albeit video based, not worth the full price). It occurred to me though, putting that into a proper sim engine and with an all day timetable, little one and two car electric railcars running a frequent service, would be far better than what Goblin is going to give us.
Hi I’d just like to add to the part about liveries as I make a lot of liveries. Here’s a Project I am working on at the moment. This is my Jig for a marking out. So I would like to add and support that TSW is relaxing. Yet I do push the way I go around things in a more stressful manner. That being said with no time limit as any normal person no doubt would approach a livery then is is so relaxing. I work in a little room locked off to the world not in the literal sense,,my escape. I’ll have my mood lighting on with some proper nice chill dub mix on. No time limit and I’ll just have fun,,,flow and then sit back admire and see where I’ve gone wrong. You get lost in the moment,,,hence why I am often late on a Project. I focus that much I lose track of time and wonder off just staring at the screen. I could go on but it is so relaxing it really is,,,yes it has it moments but I’ve done editing on many consoles games and they all have there faults in way shape or form. You can’t please everyone,,,even I was a critic of the new editing system or features. I was going mad,,,but now I struggle with editing on TSW2/3 because I’ve for such a flow now with TSW4. I’d also like to say that this is and if you love just being around trains and not just looking around to rip it apart then again it’s a real real relaxing time. The atmosphere just sitting down at the platform,,,or having a little wonder,,,it does have that feeling that your there. So for me that spent many late nights sat at a cold station somewhere in the middle of the morning then TSW4 takes me back there. I love when I speeding goods train rushes past,,,the sound it’s all there and so is that moment of memories set right there in a game. I’m sure anyone with a love for trains understands that just the small things add up. You can just sit back and enjoy the moment,,,and if you do take the time to appreciate how much attention to detail goes into making these worlds then again shows how much they do try and bring back the memories or feeling of being there again. So we can just sit back and relax,,,you don’t have to think,,that’s what I am getting at. You can just shut off. Another thing that TSW4 has as bonus over the other entries is you can do more than one thing. Sit back at a station. Drive a long US route or even the ECML or GWR I find them all relaxing. Editing,,,well I gave a brief overview of why I find that relaxing. Scenarios,,(Even tho I believe many do have frustrating times). The opportunity when fixed is still there for it to be relaxing. Taking Photos. I know messing around with photo mode is and can be a relaxing. I’m sure other could think of a few more,,,and yet I’m sure some could say no to the lot. I also speak as I can get to be a highly stressed person through the day so to spend time with TSW4 is a way to wind down and relax. So yes,,,I hope you don’t mind me adding this. Seasons wishes to you. Lee.
TSW is very relaxing as it allows me to do something I love without the real world stress of it. And if I have had enough of driving I can listen to the music a make a nice livery. I'll certainly vote for it.
