My bet is that TSW 5 comes next year, based on UE 4.27 with FSR and DLSS. The Editor is then incompatible, but it will be possible to load your TSW 4 Editor stuff into the TSW 5 Editor. And as the next iteration is out their will be only a working Editor with improvements for TSW 5.

Making one selling point twice. As their is already an update paywall for TSW itself, why not for the Editor too?

It's not the same, we have another adapted "end customer" version.

I’m pretty sure it’s the uk route 0-3 months since rivet is already needing to release the Edinburgh pack and they still have a Swiss route in 0-3 months

They make money through thrid-party devs so they obviously do not want the community to make free content for the game as they would lose on sales

I asked myself that question a few times, but if this would be the reality, why even release / announce the Editor? Bring people into 3rd party program?

That is an imputation which rises to near-actionable.

Besides, if that were DTG;s intent, why bother with the editor at all? It was a dead letter as far as anyone knew, until it was announced with TSW4 last summer. Most people had written it off ages ago, and there would be no point investiong a LOT of dev hours in what would amount to a Potemkin village when DTG could simply have done nothing.

Although a lot of 3rd party's start as freeware producers. Learn the craft and sell after a time. Doesn't happen with all but certainly has in the past. I believe the less access the community has to editors etc the worse off everyone will be including DTG. The fact we have so little new DLC content and constant recycling speaks volumes.

    Makes sense.

Maybe DTG wants the community to shut up and make the community do the hard, near-impossible work and let the hype and hope about the editor die out so DLCs get sold as usual?

Or they keep an eye on the Editor section, if people make good progress and a route looks like it has enough potential for a DLC they might get contacted...

Sorry I'm not a fan of this conspiracy theory stuff, but the situation is at least strange.

Doesn't make sense to spend shedloads of money just to get "the community to shut up." DTG have much practice ignoring community shouting (from legitimate outrage to childish whining)

Where is our USA content? Dovetail needs to stop giving the UK and Germany so much attention and give us actual USA content for once. No mention, no names or teaser for a route in under 3 months. Instead it goes to something over 5 months away. Do better.

One US route came with TSW4, does it really matter that another won't come for 6 months.

have patience, routes come when they come, unless you want it rushed, let it come when it’s ready.

Not only US content but to this day we still only have one Canadian route in game.

Canada like France are not one of the big 3 areas, DTG made a decision that was to put attention pretty much to those only for various reasons with slight exceptions. (Britain (mostly England (wales yet to be confirmed), US and Germany joint with Austria)

Canada isn’t planned to be any sort of routine release.

I'm not impatient for US content so much as I am for good US content. Haven't seen that since Clinchfield and Boston (and even they had issues on release).

(I will give them credit for locos, at least. The Acela, ACS-64, ALP-46 and F125 are really very well done. But the routes?)

The route wasn't teased due to some undisclosed reason per Brandon.

The fact Brandon's working on the route makes me feel like the next route is gonna be a New York Based route OR at the very least another NEC section

True, the dispatching and signalling system alone is so bad that you watch an hours run get botched as the Game engine allows you a conflicting move but then just stops everything. The fantastic Blackpool route is let down by such rubbish. Excuses time was 6 years ago. Its probably time to start again.

Not excusing this it any way at all, but at least we can now delete the offending train via the mini map to at least finish the run.

Go onto the in game map, find the consist causing the blockage, click on the leading loco/unit and select the remove/delete consist button.

Patience cost my time - the only thing I will never be paid back, refund or damaged... DTG very often cost me too much.

Ok then and my guess its the 180 miles NYC to Providence via New Haven alternatively broken down in two segments 72 miles NYC New Haven and 108 miles Providence to New Haven via the Groton Sub base.

I wonder when we will get a hint or leak of the new US route. Below are my 4 guesses on what it might be. It would be great if routes received incremental updates once in a while for extensions or updates made to the line so TSW can closely match what the railroad is like in real life when changes or updates are made

    1. Amtrak NEC - Washington Union Station to Philadelphia

    2. Hudson Line - New York to Poughkeepsie (includes NY-Penn Station and Grand Central Terminal) New DLC would be the Metro North P32AC-DM with Shoreliner coaches, and Amtrak P32AC-DM. The M7A and M3A would layer in

    3. New Haven Line - New York to New Haven (includes NY-Penn Station and Grand Central Terminal) New DLC would be the Metro North P32AC-DM with Shoreliner coaches, and Metro North M8. M7A and M3A would layer in but only be operable on the Hudson Line to Highbridge Yard or on the Harlem Line to Mount Vernon West.

    4. LIRR - New York to Ronkonkoma (includes Atlantic Ave - Barclays Center, Port Washington Branch, Oyster Bay Branch and Long Beach Branch, Trackage to portal for Babylon branch would exists for possible future extension of the route) New DLC would be the LIRR M9 and LIRR DE/DM30AC with C3 Bi-level coaches. The M3 and M7 would layer in. M7's deceleration sound bug should be fixed in this release

No way. Besides being 140 miles, way beyond TSW's capacity, it would require licenses from both MARC and SEPTA, neither of which seem to be forthcoming.

It's most likely the third option if I'm being honest here. The problem with the Washington DC to Philly part is a mixed bag of licensing, and the fact it's the most, in my opinion, boring part of NEC

I agree. If you can make it to Baltimore, the drive down to DC will put you in an induced coma. I know, I used to live around there.

If DTG could get the SEPTA and MARC licenses, that might make a difference, but otherwise........

Is there any hints or predictions what kind of route (this 0-3 months) US Route might be?

The one included in base game TSW4 is basically passenger route then now I think they’re going to release something cargo.

What do you guys thinks about it? Maybe some wishlists? Personally I’m waiting for some Amtrak routes or NYC Subway. :)

I have a feeling we might get a sneak peek of the new US route in early January. I am definitely thinking the route may originate somewhere out of NYC, either Metro North, LIRR or Amtrak related. Perhaps a very high chance for the New Haven line or Hudson Line. I really hope to start the new year off, hopefully one or these routes are the next US route. I'd enjoy seeing a P32AC-DM and shoreliner push pull consists in this simulator

I'm thinking Pacific Surfliner since they were photographing and recording both Amtrak and Metrolink equipment during the team's visit to LA.

Yup, I agree, think the next route is Metro North or somewhere along the Northeast as Brandon is working on the route. I do think though that the route that was 4-6 months away may take place somewhere in the west. I recall back in the days of TSW2, Matt mentioned of a possible future Pacific Surfliner route

We're bound to see a lot of this silly stuff during this period when the mods are largely on hiatus.

Best to ignore it and certainly not feed it by responding to it.

Too soon for that, wouldn't be very productive to release it so close to AVL, more likely to be the route in the 6+ slot.
