1, yes, I have a lot of my title for the hub (sorry if it sounds wrong and doesn't fit the tehma at all So let's get started, I stumbled across a few older videos from DTG tonight and I noticed something (no, I just watched this one stretch video) It's about the route Hamburg Lübeck And I have a question why true earlier more for the track than today/or rather for tsw2 clear it is ts2016 but the vehicles that used to be there so the 218/245/ drive until today I still wonder that fewer and fewer vehicles available in addons than before? Are these cost reasons? Does DTG lack the motivation? Or is it too much effort? /
Im not sure they will awnswer, Im sure one of them will read it and not bother to read, Closest you'll ever get is a rating
Can't really compare tsc to tsw because they are different. Things take different amounts of time to build. One is less complex than the other. Just because tsc has all that doesn't mean it's viable for tsw. For tsw, you have to spend a lot of time modeling with higher detail including detailed passenger compartments your can walk through, setting up simugraph for simulation and physics and more detailed sound to name a few. Tsc doesn't have to do all that. I've seen a bunch of 2d textures for tsc or really low quality textures which you can't have in tsw.
The comparison game goes nowhere; there are great things about both games and problems with both, of a different nature.
Yes, that's understandable, but it's more about the selection of vehicles since tsw2/3, fewer and fewer vehicles are delivered as an example for the upcoming route Rosenheim clearly wow 111 yes but already against the old dostos....
I think they increasingly market the layers that come from owning multiple Routes. Not the best solution when someone is looking for new stock.
Yes, that's just annoying.. Alone for the German routes. Of course it is practical that I now own all the routes and vehicle as an example, but it's just annoying that the double-deck cars of the fifth generation are everywhere, that's not only largely unrealistic, but also just annoying instead of the fact that, DTG makes more effort, no rather just the 5gn to dosto cars everywhere, DTG would make as much effort as at tsc times, you could also get more money out of it. Personally, I would really pay more if there are more vehicles in a route addon so as an example the 111 with very old dosto dare honestly it would not matter if 30-40-50€ the main thing is something else...... same like the s Bahn Vorarlberg…
If they really wanted to, they could create more locos and such for routes. They simply choose not to. Nothing to do with development time.
I agree, the low number of rolling stock included with most routes is quite annoying. Take for example Arosalinie. The MSTS rendition of the route included the Ge 4/4 II is several liveries, several type of passenger cars and the cab car and several freight cars as well. The TSC variant of the route includes the Allegra, but no standalone locomotive and coaches, but at least three freight cars. The TSW variant included the GE 4/4 II in only one livery, the passenger cars and only the timber freight cars. So as time goes on, the included content seems to be less and less. Of course things are getting more detailed, which is nice. But technology also advances, allowing for better and faster workflow. So why do we keep getting less?
Plus we probably got spoiled by the amount of stock we got in "CD ware" routes for MSTS like Mid East Plus or North Wales Coast. Or the huge collection of Southern Region stuff in London South East, the extensive collections on ELR and Blue Arrow's SVR.
One reason is that with Simugraph, it's more complex to do a loco because it simulates like a real engine, but like in TSC where the engine is "simulated" (sorry, i can't think of a better wording). That means each loco takes more time as you need more data to be correct and work correctly. There can also go more wrong etc. Also in TSW you can play around with almost all switches. And most of them do something which is relevant for the simulation. That's extra time needs to be spent (building the 3D object, animating it, making it actually "do" something). Some locos (though rarely) have an engine room, which takes even more building time. And in TSC the waggons are mostly just "scenery" and don't need to be fully modeled and simulated. In TSW, all the coaches need to be accurate, need to be interactable (you can sit, open windows, press some buttons). And that also takes way more time than the "ai only" coaches from TSC. [Of course some coaches interiors in TSC are also well modeled, but that's the exception].
It's a strange thing... When I drop back across to TSC the first thing I try and do is open the cab window or door (where you can on the prototype) for more sound but in over 75% of cases unlike TSW this basic feature isn't even modelled. And while I grumble about sounds like the Class 700 or the ECML Azuma, running the Shinkansen train on the Tohuku Line in TSC, the train cab is virtually silent no traction noise at all. It was nice to come back over to TSW and load up a German ICE run.
Yeah absolutely, it's a small thing. But once you enjoy this "luxury" it feels strange to me to go back to TSC with old graphics and less interactability. I mean, I enjoy TSC. But after like one service i'm like "nah, can't really enjoy the graphics".
That’s standard on AP products, which is partly why I said the locos in TSW are much more akin to AP TSC trains than anything else. There is literally no comparison between DTGs train content in TSC and what they’ve produced for TSW. You could argue the TSC content should have been better, but I don’t think DTG get the credit they deserve for having stepped up the quality in this particular area. As with the game as a whole, just a little bit more effort would bring the TSW locos up to, and in most cases, surpassing even the very best TSC content. This game isn’t half bad and a bit of focus on minimum standards, quality and consistency could make it excellent. It comes down to whether or not the people responsible have that in them or not though. You’d really hope they do but the evidence thus far suggests probably not, which is a crying shame.
I say yes with many UK routes is really more with but unfortunately I am also zero familiar with it and unfortunately I can only talk for German routes it is just too little at.....and if there is more with then there are things that have already been 100 times in tsw be it sometimes against a DB BR146 be it sometimes against the 143 or sometimes against the dosto of the fifth generation.... It's boring and just annoying when DTG really doesn't feel like European content, then they should just leave it honest.....isn't like that most German addons hardly work anyway...
Personally, I would like more quality but that's just a wish, so DTG because somehow doesn't come after it anyway, the update of Dresden Riesa the 442 just doesn't have any more rain.... The Talent 1 has a completely wrong sound... if DTG honestly has so little desire they should leave it the same....
