One is the NEC, the other is only Metro North. No where even close to being the same.

    New Haven
    Harlem

One has new, the other doesn't.

It makes more sense for someone to mix up Harlem and Hudson than New Haven.

    Hmm...
    Harlem Line. New Haven Line.

One of them has another word in front.

Maybe we should cut him a little slack since he's Swiss and English is not his native language. He may not be familiar with US geography and place names.

I would add, English myself and don’t know a thing about New Haven and only really heard of Harlem from films.

I believe you might be correct I also have a feeling it might be one of the metro north route either the Hudson or the New Haven-Connecticut Line with the M8 as their train car set, cause Brandon also help with the Harlem Line so it have to be it. Hopefully we get the full Route for either of these not like the Harlem line which was very disappointing.

I agree totally. I am sure I can easily mix up different cities in Germany, or any other country where I haven’t lived or don’t speak the native language. This shouldn’t even be a topic of discussion if everyone had a modicum of tolerance,

A very good point. I'm not entirely uneducated or ill-traveled, but before TSW there were probably 4 or 5 towns in Switzerland I could name, and couldn't locate any of them on a map.

Yes. And with the CPKC line now a thing, would be a good opportunity to capture rail history in game. So yes to all North American rail (maybe even some Mexico could be fun).

Lancaster is a city in England. There is also a city in the US called Lancaster.

I wouldn't have known this hadn't Antelope Valley been in TSW.

Agreed, hopefully a roadmap update comes out next week. If the roadmap comes out next week, I hope the US route gets revealed.

Can’t believe there is still no roadmap update. Don’t they usually release a roadmap update in the beginning of the month. Maybe we might see something in two days which is Friday. I just hope they will blow us away cause they have kept quite for quite some time already with no update :|

Given the usefulness of the current Road Map (in which everything can change radically), they could do without publishing it.
    Are merely declarations of intent.

Dtg just got back to the office so there's a lot of stuff to do to catch up. Who knows, they might still show the teasers outside of the roadmap

Well there is a reason for that and it has the same way every year, and that is DTG is only getting back to work. And not all staff are back yet, there is a lot that needs to be caught up on before the next roadmap.

Disagree all you want but on the last roadmap for last year it was mentioned that the next roadmap would be in February.

if there were to be a roadmap the usual pattern of the release date of it is always the 2nd week of the month on a Tuesday

It's not like new content can only be announced in a roadmap. I do hope we hear something soon. Would be nice to be excited about something again, considering the whole TSW4 deal is a big disappointment in my eyes so far. Though it will have to be something really good to get me to buy TSW4.

Hopefully it won't be another NY-Trenton incident, where they hype it up, then release a broken ghost town route with reused scenery from several years ago.

Would love this to be something good, whether it is passenger or freight.

For me a really good thing when I'll be considering purchase of TSW4 would be after the WSR update, of course if it's received well. If it isn't, then I'll wait for fixes. Otherwise that would be either Humble/Fanatical Train Sim World Bundle or after release of Union Workshop's route.

Same. I wonder if Union Workshop's route will release for TSW4 or it is still long wait away and we will be at TSW5 by then. Because if so, then I may completely skip TSW4 and only get TSW5 when the time comes. Though I do hope they put a pause on this constant re-releasing model and we will have TSW4 for years unless they really have a reason to re-release.

And I do hope we finally get to hear some news about UW's route. At least announce the country (probably Japan, but who knows, could be chinese) or show some work in progress screenshots. UW used to show early renders and WIP shots on their social media pages, but I am not seeing anything regarding their current project.

After my ongoing semi disappointment with the Ongakukan game, which is really little more than a rather expensive series of interactive video clips, I really want to see what UW can give us in the architecture of TSW.

Seeing their TSC work, I am hopeful. The quality of their content wasn't always the best in TSC, but many of their issues seem to stem from the outdatedness of the TSC engine - bad performance due to high quality models and custom scripts. With a more modern engine, I hope they will be able to do more, as it will be able to handle their high quality models and SimuGraph allows them to do better simulations/scripting.

Their Tokyo route, while short, was very impressive and really conveyed the sense of a hyper busy Japanese urban route. Imagine how that would be with the all day timetable layered in, which is sadly where the Ongakukan video clip games fall fairly flat, there is literally hardly any replay value as it's the same run (one direction only) every time.

Yep. My biggest issue with TSC content is the lack of replay value due to most routes containing only 5 or 6 scenarios, many of them not making sense at all, just a random service on the quarter or half of the route, not even a full run. Sure, quick drive is there, but UW's routes are usually not set up well for it, I think the Tokyo Commuter route is the only one including AI traffic for Quick Drive.

So I am looking forward to a (hopefully) japanese route from them with a full 24 hour timetable. Honestly I am open to anything, either if it is a Shinkansen line, a commuter line or a single track diesel route.

I do wonder what TSC will be like once the devs fully update the core of the simulator. If only TSC had a timetable mode whilst maintaining it's high level of detail. I find that while it's more feasible to create the routes for TSW, TSC still holds it down when it comes to overall scenery depth. TSW wins when it comes to operating realistic timetable operations

  47. I think the US content in the works will be announced February 6th. When the 1st roadmap for 2024 runs. You can wait. Apparently some good stuff coming. So just hold your horses.

I am guessing the US route that will be released will happen end of February. Feb 27th approximate. This is just a guess. It could be earlier or later.

  48. Holding their cars close to their chest.

I have been betting that Donner Pass is the one coming in Feb. Because its huge.

And any NY content well it won't come this year but we will see (if the info on Brandon is correct) something in Connecticut. Something like New Haven Springfield or New Haven Providence or a similar route, especially if it has something to do with freight.

I think DTG is trying to go for routes that run freight on them as well as passenger especially for the US. But this is true for German routes.

The US has few passenger only routes and DTG has fewer licenses.

Are New York subway lines fully automatic like in the UK?

I don't think we will see anything from the NY area until 2025. I could be wrong.

DTG know that the sales lies in passenger routes because that is what people are familiar with. If you check what Matt has said in that freight thread ( https://forums.dovetailgames.com/th...e-its-just-been-pass.76639/page-2#post-760294 )

I highly doubt Donner Pass would come to TSW in the foreseeable future, The Roseville Subdivision measured at 140+ mile long. Completing 85 mile run we have now from Cajon Pass already time consuming. And people seems get tired and bored with this type of freight route (ascending, descending a hill and transversing a pass).

You already said this in another thread. Your freight route is way too long. Just because it's huge doesn't mean it's possible to make at all. New york subways aren't all fully automatic. You're sounding like you know it all even though you say you aren't
