As much as I agree with you on the slow 158 closing doors, it’s realistic. So I wouldn’t want them to change that. If anything that’s what makes that train unique when conducting passenger tasks. The broken timetable is what’s letting the route down for me, imo the only thing that needs fixing. The other stuff I’m not too OCD about so it doesn’t bother me as much.
The guard doesn't take 20 seconds to close their door after the rest. Been on enough EMT 158 services from Leicester to Nottingham to know this
The guard door really ought to close quicker than it does once the other doors are closed. It shouldn’t take as long as it does.
Yeah the guard closing his door after the others needs to take half the time it currently does. No guard ever is that slow.
You'd still struggle to be late if the guard wasn't in slow motion. They changed the timetable to one made by an AI. No human can match it
Even if realistic, it is still significantly slower and different to any other train in-game, which for the sake of making the gameplay less frustrating it would be better to speed things up. Just Trains did the Pacer quite well, so I would use that as the benchmark.
Yeah I agree. They definitely could cut the wait time down by half. I know it’s weird, but I kind of like the long wait time, even though it’s not realistic. First thing they need to change is that god awful AI timetable though.
No biggie, but you might want to correct this. (I don´t remember if this is Nottingham, Leicester, or Derby underground. It´s on one of the three main stations.)
I done a service from Nottingham to Derby and when i am further away, the level crossings don't raise when a train has passed for a couple of seconds, its one of the things that makes it slightly unrealistic. But hope it is taken into consideration as it will increase the realism of the route.
Found this bug with the headlights, marker lights and tail lights today where they just don't turn on. You can see on an a.i 158 in the background with it's tail lights working as they should, but as you can see on my train, the lights just aren't working. The switch for the lights is turned on but it is clearly not working.
Hi Everyone, Glad to see everyone has been enjoying the Midland Main Line and Petroleum over the holidays. Its been great to see all the screenshots posted. Really pleased the experience is living up to expectation. Thanks for the continued feedback and reports. These are getting noted and assessed. Please keep them coming. Some items reported and fixed since the big update last month are currently being assessed by DTG for an opportunity to release them soon, but if not, we have a target window we are working to. It would be inappropriate to go into more detail until more firm plans take shape on this front. In the meantime, work on Cargo Line Volume 2 is progressing well, and we have also have further project started in collaboration with another developer which we're very excited about. All to be announced in good time. Happy Simming!
Hiya, Can you provide some more details about this. I just loaded up MML on a PC, started the 5:36 service from Nottingham and the lights work fine to all expectations.
Actually no, I will say that. However, seeing the overwhelming discussion about a Class 60 following the release of Petroleum and it being a particular favourite of mine also, I am gathering data to put a proposal together. So to that end, does someone want to start a Class 60 proposal thread in the suggestions section and I'll keep an eye on it.
Hi there. I found this bug on one of the depot move services and on the following service when spawning on foot. Might've occured when I turned the engine off and on again. Apart from that I'm not sure what more I can tell you. I'll try and find the service code for your.
Will there be any updates regarding the timetable and are there intentions to restore it to the original 30-second rounded intervals?
That is a little hopeful then, Adam. The 66 has been done to death and frankly boring now as pointed out in numerous threads across the forum. I suspect the 56 and 60 have been suggested several times over the life of TSW yet, so we really do need a willing developer to take the project on.
It looks like 5K06 ECS from Etches Park to Derby, then 2K06 from Derby to Nottingham. I've played through these and the lights all appear to work fine, including when changing ends.
Ok. Sorry I can help much more. Not sure what could've caused it. I will mention if it happens again.
I noticed there was a few times I had to put the lights on twice. Mostly on depot moves. Can’t give you specific details but essentially put them on, set the rest of the train up and they’d turned off, put them on again and stayed on fine. Wonder if this was the same?
I see this hasn't been answered yet but are there plans to revert the timetable to something slightly more realistic so it isn't impossible to be minutes late at the very first station and at least a few seconds to setup the cab?
Hiya, we have investigated the feedback about the timetable and found that several factors are involved that create the current situation. We are working on addressing the concerns raised, but I have no details on time frames currently.
That's great to hear! This is now one of my favourite routes and the timetable is my only problem with it. Although... If the second cargo pack involved the power station somehow that would definitely make it my number one route!
PS5 - I've played the scenario Chasing Yellows twice and the game has crashed both times approaching Nottingham. First an emergency stop is triggered then crashes whilst approaching red signal, so I've been unable to complete it. Anyone else experiencing this issue on this scenario?
Yeah I had the crash twice short of East Midland Parkway and I have had the emergency stop each time too! I did eventually manage to complete it but seems rather random with when it completes ok.
Platform: Xbox one Relevant layered installed DLC: GWE, NTP, TVL, SEHS Game crashes just after leaving Derby, heading towards Nottingham on a 158 service to Matlock. (Can't remember time or headcode)
Thank you for continuing to improve this route. IMO this is one of the best routes in the entire game and it deserves the love and attention to make it the best it can be. Looking forward to the updates when they arrive.
Platform: Xbox one Service 1d14 leaving Leicester at 10:06. Heading from London St Pancras to Sheffield. Performance is fine until crash after East Midlands Parkway. Removed Mk3s at Derby to try reduce memory use. This is by far the most crash intense route I've played yet even more than any of the TSW4 releases. Have so far only managed to complete a Nottingham to Leicester service with the HST. Even the Easy run scenario crashed after East Midlands Parkway.
Yea, old gen consoles have a real hard time of it around east midlands parkway. I think it's the scale of the power station that really does it. Sadly I believe that's a platform issue and not a game/route issue.
Still trying to swallow that pill, and trying to think of other big trackside assets that load in just fine, to compare it to.
I've noticed as well that the textures on the exterior of the HST aren't great, even when I spawn it on other, older routes like GWE. When I did spawn it on GWE I took the opportunity to walk through the carriages but I had to close and then re open all the corridor doors before it would let me walk through them. Not sure if this has been raised but the 158 destination boards are wrong they don't show off world destinations. I also don't get how the power station at East Midlands Parkway causes crashes, when thinking about other assets that I can pass fine in much more urban areas like London or even all the industrial complexes on TVL with smoke effects. SEHS has a similar number of varying vehicles and that runs fine.
As a PC player, East Midlands Parkway station FPS is fine, however I always experience quite a drop in FPS around the Sheets Store Junction area for some reason (just north of East Midlands Parkway, beyond the tunnels) Between Attenborough and Long Eaton is where it seems to drop off.
Every route is built differently so one route might run worse than another or have problems another one doesn't have
On my PS5 it's usually around Syston junction I experience a drop in FPS and many times the game then crashes.
Below are comparisons between the two HSTs. It appears the EMT one has some texture issues even on an empty GWE route with just the GWG HST present.
Finally found the Medieval Faire. It's just west of Attenborough. From Nottinghem, pass Attenborough and a lake on the left. Then you'll see it on the left side. You'll have to finish the Mastery of cours Set the date to 1:st August.
Great route for the 158 how ever for the hst I’ve tried a few different Leicester to derby services and it keeps crashing and closing the game once I pass East Midlands parkway
Hiya, Are you on PC or Console? Would really love to get the crash reports from your experience in order to find out why there is still an issue for you. But I believe you can only get these if on PC.
