Are sanders in general functional in TSW? The 323 has serious wheelsip in rain and snow and I press the sander and nothing happens.
Sanders are indeed functional. If the train you are driving is wheelslipping so badly that even sand can't help, you should reduce power. It is good practice to not rely on sanding, but to be more gentle with the train in conditions of low adhesion. You do not want to end up in a situation where you have emptied the sand hoppers, so there is none left for you (or the drivers who will drive the train after you) if it is needed for an emergency stop. In TSW, however, sand is infinite. Also, if you need to manually apply sand, press the button for at least 10 seconds to allow the sand to take effect. Do not repress the button until at least 10 seconds have passed from when you last pressed the button.
Just a quick question, are you apply sand while the wheels are slipping? Once traction is lost, doubtful if applying sand would do much. Reduce power till you regain traction, then apply the sand and slowly increase power.
Yeah when it starts slipping, i didnt know I had to press and hold the sand button. My train flew through northfield earlier because it slipped and the brakes stopped working

The 730 doesnt run on the BCC? The 730s arent in service but when they are they will be running alongside and eventually replacing the 350s. Also the brakes not working whilst slipping is something that can happen on glossop too its the same train. And BCC is amazing theres so much to do with such little route
Fam, the 730 are announced to run to bcc soon, and its not the 350's they're replacing, its the 323's but It's Only god that knows what will happen to those 350's

IRL when driving when you experiance wheel sleep you take 0 power and apply sand then gradually apply power again. You cant just go from 0 to full power and then apply the sand as that defeats the purpose. There is nothing wrong with the BCC 323 if you are not doing it correctly you will continue to get wheel slide.

How big are these hoppers in general? For how long could I continuously sand before running out? We can't sand here in the "tunnelbana", sadly.
That's a good question! I did a bit of research, and the only thing I could find was that the Taurus train has about 4 hoppers each with 100Kg sand. As for how long, I have no idea. I would assume it changes for each locomotive. I also forgot to mention that sand can damage the wheels and rails, which is another reason to only use it as a last resort.
