For reference, the old Xbox audio thread that was unceremoniously dumped in the Troubleshooting forum. https://forums.dovetailgames.com/threads/xbox-audio.59043/ The issue has been acknowledged but no update for weeks, and still no signs on the road map, despite the fact it impacts ALL Xbox users. I regret to say that this is a pretty poor way to treat customers.
had the same thing happen to my thread about snow I don’t know what to think about the way Xbox has been treated by DTG with Xbox Audio and my main concern which is Z-Fighting, annoyed for sure, kinda the reason I’ve pulled away from new content (I barely got into TSW3’s Tbh) Z-Fighting has been going on at least 2-3 years but apparently crashes in September are the reason it never got seen to… logic escapes me on that one. Still no sign and I’m not convinced they will ever fix it, which with regrets would be my bowing out of TSW. Nothing more we can do for these issues it’s up to DTG, and I certainly ain’t after more dlc with the same issues. I hope they fix it, so I can at least not have its difficulties and enjoy TSW. strongly feel it should be number 1 priority but hope can’t go on forever.
Its not going to be fixed. If they won't even bother fixing issues such as crashes (I'm still waiting on a TSW3 fix for SEHS which carried over to TSW4) then audio has no chance.
The console user experience and QoL fixes have been pretty much ignored unless absolutely showstopping. Kind of hard to believe considering consoles proportionately account for most of DTG’s income, if their own figures are to be believed. Apart from the Xbox issues, the PS5 is mot much better off, with a dreadfully unoptimised experience. I’m all for new features but let’s keep the people happy and deal with genuine complaints, rather than treating them as just noise.
I wander (xbxsx) if it is just my impression that US freight (GE and EMD) locos sounds strange on higher power - there is more this whistling sound (like dynamic brakes), rumbling of the v12 or v10 cylinders is absent. Generally they sound like beeing dynamic braking all the time on higher notches. Sound of this locos should be a music for diesel fans, yet it is NOT.
It's a shame that being more of a neich game, is probably a reason they've got away with it for so long. Not a big enough fan base to make enough noise over it.
Always been an absolute fan of TSW, played it a lot possibly more than any other game but these 2 main issues (Z & Audio) is why I would say to avoid it at this point tbh, I couldn’t say and would be lying to say to a new player it’s a great experience in its current way. leaving these for so long has really dug in an impression of lack of care, distrust and impression of never expect it fixed. Ive said before I don’t like to say it, but now I hope PlayStation and PC gets the same issue as at least then it can’t be thrown aside as a segregated/isolated easier to ignore issue.
Guys lets try to keep this thread active even tho they're not going to do anything about this issue. Just to let them know we're still here and try to put some pressure on them to fix the game
This is easily my single biggest annoyance with TSW, a game I enjoy, on Xbox Series X. The crackling is so bad on some routes and is a huge immersion killer.
I know, It's the same for me, otherwise a great game but this issue is so big it kills the whole experience. We just gotta keep the thread active, there's no other way they're gonna listen to us...
I was in the old discussion over a year ago fighting for this fix after tsw3 launched. Big hopes for tsw4 only to be slapped in the face as usual. Well, uninstalled and got a full refund. I spend 100s of pounds on tsw2 and 3 but now they have lost me, I haven't touched the game in months and have no desire to unless the audio is fixed. In fact I uninstalled all tsw games as of a few weeks ago. Will be more than happy to return if this is sorted but until then I will check in every now and again to keep the thread going as others have done.
Matt has been tagged multiple times but has declined to respond. As this issue seems to have been put on the backburner, I would imagine he will not respond until he has better news. It's all a bit of a mess and a great shame that the situation has been allowed to continue to the point where good customers (Xbox players in this case) are begging for a solution but are being deliberately ignored.
The audio is particularly bad on MML. Clicks and pops, horn samples obviously restarting every second, give or take, etc.
They haven't discussed xbox audio for a while. It's also not on the roadmap so it means not being worked on or planned. They mentioned in another thread on another topic that if something is planned or being worked on, it's going to be mentioned on the roadmap
This is just getting ridiculous. I get it’s not properly affecting the game but at least give the Xbox players some credit. PC and PS players are so spoilt and Xbox get hardly anything.
Or create your own. It's not going to solve anything, but there is nothing stopping you from creating another
