Hello all, I'm here to announce my latest mod in the Creator's Club Roadmap, the Nidderplacement scenario on Niddertalbahn...

    Scenario Name: Nidderplacement
    Route: Niddertalbahn
Train: DB BR 612 (not the advertised DB BR 363, will get onto that in a minute)
    Route covered: Heldenburgen-Windecken-Bad Vilbel-Heldenburgen-Windecken
    Duration: 1hr 5mins-1hr 10mins
    Difficulty: 2
Scenario Storyline: A DB BR 628.2 has failed so a DB BR 612 has been drafted in to replace the failed unit and drive the replacement train from Heldenburgen-Windecken to Bad Vilbel and return as the sun sets on another day on the Niddertalbahn

    Train Choice:
I was originally going to do a DB BR 363 hauling Dostos but the doors on the Dostos did not open for some strange reason hence the unexpected replacement by a (not era-appropriate) DB BR 612 ;) (and before anyone asks, I do not own Maintalbahn so do not have access to the DB BR 642)

    WIP shots await...

Leaving Heldenburgen-Windecken behind in our DB BR 612 unit bound for Bad Vilbel

The sun set looks fabulous as we run through the countryside

Night is starting to fall as we arrive into Gronau having reversed at Bad Vilbel after arriving from Heldenburgen-Windecken :)

Here we are, back where we started an hour or so ago... as nightfall begins :)

    Known Issues:
    • There is a train jam at Altenstadt (Hess) so you will not see any southbound trains (fixed)
    • I need to add extra traffic on the southern portion of the route so it is a bit more busy (fixed)

Scenario Link: Creators Club - (TG08) Nidderplacement (BR 612)

I hope you are excited for this one as it is my first release for this route, I'm TrainGeek08 as always, enjoy the rest of your day, and goodbye :)

Hello all, I'm here to announce my latest livery from the Creator's Club Roadmap, FGW Plain Blue on the Class 150 from West Cornwall Local...

    Livery Name: FGW Plain Blue
    Route: West Cornwall Local
Train: Class 150/2 REG (in FGW plain blue livery)
    Route covered: N/A
Duration (to make the livery): 40 minutes
    Difficulty: N/A
    Scenario Storyline: N/A

    WIP shots await...

Here is the livery, as depicted on 150219 and 150238 as all the other 150/2s are in GWR green :)

I've added lots of weathering to this one as this livery is an older livery from First Great Western days and adapted for GWR days but has not been repainted yet...

Having a drive around the Training Center now

Now we are at St Ives, ready to work the shuttle back to St Erth in the snow

Livery Link: Creators Club - (TG08) FGW Plain Blue (150)

I hope you are excited for this one, be sure to come back tomorrow to download Nidderplacement (announcement above), I'm TrainGeek08 as always, enjoy the rest of your day, and goodbye :)

Hi mate they look pretty smart. The writing is bang on and as you say you heavily weathered this livery.
Can I just ask who do get on with the methods you use as by the looks your just using the gradient layer.
I only ask due to many issues I’ve had using them. Especially in the lighting as I think others have had or faced a similar problem.

Tbh with you I given up fully relying on them for all weathering effects. The front end on this class 150 is a perfect example of the what layers I would now use instead of the gradient decal to get a more fuller effect with out those lines that so often appear.
    You’ll know what I mean.

Maybe try using a group of different weathering layers or mess around with others to get say the build of dirt effect in the recess and door surrounds. Sure it takes longer and all depends on livery your doing and if you’ll have enough to complete the weathering as they can take up a lot of decals. But if you chose to do then again this process does take a lot of time,, but hard effort on the weathering will pay off and is far better than just using a standard gradient layer.

Because I have noticed that the light changes in seasons so during testing in one light in a certain season the weathering may look okay,,,but later on in a different season the lighting is slightly different as it would be in real world but the weathering looks different and sometimes not for the best.

So if you do have problems like this then maybe using the other methods I mentioned as then you know where your up to especially in saving time in terms of testing in light to avoid the lines. Plus using the other method then they will remain the same in those different seasonal conditions.

A little example below of the weathering I now use. IMG_8745.jpeg
See where the build up of dirt is and the effects I’m trying to get. Okay maybe a little darker on the top nose but in the light that isn’t so much of an issue.

Hope some of this help in you adding to what is already fantastic work lad.

    Lee (TSLP).

I have done different weathering techniques before on other liveries so it is something I could reconsider for my next lot of liveries :)

Well there ya go then,,your all sorted bud:) Hope you didn’t think I was being critical or judgmental of you work. I just notice things either on my own or others work. Try talk about them and find a better process or method.

To seek perfection or what’s the point?.

I was just going to ask you something but firstly I’d just ask where are you at with you scheduling and could you drop in a small livery in if I something like this arises or is something you maybe interested in. I can’t say to much like,,lose Lips Sink Ships:).

Hope to speak soon mate,,and enjoy the rest this fabulous day. Im in a HaPpY mOoD (For Once).

Hi buddy sorry I’ve been quiet,,,putting some massive mistakes wrong.

I just want you tho know they look really smart. I don’t do many European DLCs because why bother if you got it covered in such a professional way;)

Keep it up mate,,,you are good at what you do.

It Maybe the angle of the Camara but I do like how it appears somewhat silver.

    ANNOUNCEMENT!

Hello everyone, I know it is not 2024 yet so I can't announce the next mod, but what I can announce is that I am working on a scenario pack for a route within TSW4 :o (set in 2004, the scenario pack, not the route ;))

More details when I complete the scenario pack and that's when I will tell you what route the scenario pack is for :)

(No, this will not be related in any way to my Creator's Club Roadmap, it is a separate project I have which is running alongside it, or in other words, it is me making scenarios in the downtime between Münchtron coming out and Double Jet releasing after the New Year :D)

I hope that's got you all excited, see you all in 2024 :)

Hi TrainGeek08,,,it’s great to see your new announcement.
    Hi TrainGeek08.

Just a quick one,,,it’s great to hear about and see your announcement as this was something I found was an issue I when again in many lines of jobs by planning to far in advance I found out. Sometimes at great time and expense.

That being if you plan or planned to far in advance how do you react to new ideas or market conditions,,(Trends). Or see if a plan is executed but then is not working you can’t change because it’s been already mapped out or announced,,you’d still have run with it even if it fails.

So I hope I and we can speak candidly as so this is not taken in any other way. It was just something I asked myself when looking at your post and road maps. I’m sure you do research into what direction your going before you plan anyway plus am I just seeing this from a console user not a PC or mod’s perspective. And maybe I should just keep my mouth shut:)

I just wanted you to know aside from the things I’m not tech savvy about that is having a little side project to allow you explore more freedom in ideas that come to mind,,like a lyric for a song anything that comes to mind must be written down is a great move forward.

To react when we have a great idea for a livery or scenario. Can be dangerous at the same time tho allowing all those ideas to come to light as then you have more work and more projects,,,something that then takes well planning.

But to me a plan is like blocks the more planning you do the more block you have to move,,,if you have to change.
Planning to me hampers the ability to suddenly react if things change. No long term announcement means I can open a project when ideas flow and then place them on hold or open at will. I can even close a project down or place on long term hold if it’s not working too.

Again that keeps away from spending time on the announcement or road map made that is not working. Because you said it would be done you could say you have to honour that where ideal you don’t want to spending wasted time on a failed announcement or project.

Well it was only meant to be a quick one lol,,,and I’m in trouble so I best go.

Enjoy the rest of your day TrainGeek08 and if I don’t speak to you before the New Year the I hope you have a great time and all the best my friend for 2024.

    Lee.

Hello everyone, I hope you had a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, today I have a quick update regarding Double Jet...

I am sorry to announce that I will have to delay the release because the formation I am planning to use (DB BR 182/RP BR 193 + 11 IC coaches) requires me to make that formation in Formation Designer, so unfortunately I can't make the mod until FD comes out :(

To ensure a quick release when FD does eventually come out, I'll make the scenario with all the AI included now then when I create the said formation, all I need to do is sub it into the scenario and it can be released as planned :)

Apologies for the shock announcement, I'll see you next time for Immingham Revisited's announcement (hopefully it doesn't receive the same fate as Double Jet...)

Until then, it's goodbye from me :)

Hello everyone, today I have a quick update regarding Immingham Revisited...

I am sorry to announce that I will have to delay the release because the formation I am planning to use (EWS Class 66 + 7 Mk1 + EWS Class 66) requires me to make that formation in Formation Designer, so unfortunately I can't make the mod until FD comes out :(

Apologies for the shock announcement, I'll see you next time for Old Guard's announcement, which for sure will not be delayed as it does not require Formation Designer consists ;)

I do have some teasers to share from my side project, which I can now fully announce as 'Blackpool Branches Scenario Pack 1 - 2004' in the next post, see you below folks...

Right, so you want some teasers regarding 'Blackpool Branches Scenario Pack 1 - 2004'?

    How it works:
I will share a slightly blurred picture of what the player train will be in the scenario and it is your job to identify the scenario name by reading the corresponding poem, how many can you guess correctly? (the pictures can be of help if you do not understand the poem fully)

    Scenario 1:

'At quarter past 5 on an early summer's morning,
    Blackpool North station is awakening,
To the sound of Sprinters and Pacers,
A Pacer is due to bounce its way out of Blackpool soon.'

(The scenario name is the time of day the scenario is set and what the Pacers will do once it leaves Blackpool combined...)

    Scenario 2:

    'On a May morning,
A Class 66 leaves Preston for the coast,
This railtour has originated in Edinburgh,
It is not a railtour though,
It is a form of alliteration.'

(The scenario name is where the Class 66 is heading and another name for a railtour...)

    Scenario 3:

    'Blackpool has two stations,
North or South, where are we leaving from?
Through Lytham and Kirkham we go to Preston,
Where another driver will take it forward to Colne.'

(The scenario name is the way it came from the Blackpool terminus the service originates from...) - could be tricky

    Scenario 4:

'A new operator is in town,
And takes over a fleet of Express Sprinters,
Drive two of them to Blackpool this evening,
    During a glorious sunset.'

(The scenario name is part of the name of this 'new operator' and what a 158 will do if you remove 'er' from the nickname...)

    Scenario 5:

'A Sprinter and Pacer meet at Preston station at 5pm,
They head down a branch line,
And stop at Croston, Rufford and Burscough Junction as well as Ormskirk,
Then it reverses and heads back to Preston.'

(The scenario name is the terminus of the branch line and the term used to describe a train going back and forth along the same section of branch line all day...)

    All will be revealed soon...

    You got 2 and 5 right :)

For 4, you are close 'Sprint' is right but the operator isn't, good attempt though :)

1 - 'Bounce' is close but 'Morning', not so much
3 - 'Southern' is close, think South
4 - Again, 'Sprint' is right but the operator is still wrong, the livery in the picture should provide a sneaky clue ;)

    Not bad guesses mate :)

Could you reupload the fourth image please as it is not showing up for some reason.

I think I may need to think a bit more carefully!

    Edit: sorry the 4th image!

Hello everyone, today I have a quick update regarding IC Stopper...

I am sorry to announce that I will have to delay the release because the formation I am planning to use (DB BR 101 + 5 IC coaches) requires me to make that formation in Formation Designer, so unfortunately I can't make the mod until FD comes out :(

To ensure a quick release when FD does eventually come out, I made the scenario with all the AI included earlier this week then when I create the said formation, all I need to do is sub it into the scenario and it can be released as planned :)

Apologies for the shock announcement, I'll see you next time for 313121's announcement, which for sure will not be delayed as it is a livery of course ;)

Until then, it's goodbye from me :)

    Come on Mr Geek.
You shouldn't be using those funny German shunters when there are some lovely English Sentinels available to download from The Hub.
They come in a multitude of colours and are made by someone who's name I can't quite remember ;)

I am not sure of the name (though what Traingeek says does ring a bell) but I think it is that one who can't stop reminding people to not forget the brackets and also the one who made a lovely PFR scenario. ;);)
