Can anyone explain what the LFB are doing with a bus?

Spot on and I wonder if there are other models besides the Optare Solo here in the US we called them NABI 30 lfn as command unit vehicles.

 

The hospital i work at has a 'mobile theatre'.
Its a massive truck and trailer with an operating theatre built into. Full lights and sirens too.
