Greetings all. I seem to have trouble installing searchlight simulations freight and sound packs. either the files get installed into the wrong directories or despite saying the install was successful, the files are nowhere to be found. here's some of the packs i'm using. https://www.store.searchlight-simulations.com/products/ge-gevo-12-ep https://www.store.searchlight-simulations.com/products/7fdl-16-ep https://www.store.searchlight-simulations.com/products/16n-710g3b-ep https://www.store.searchlight-simulations.com/products/jrfrt-pack-02 https://www.store.searchlight-simulations.com/products/jr-rolling-stock-pack-01
When you run the installer you get this pop-up It tells you that the file will be installed to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\RailWorks If your Railworks install is on a different drive you will need to correct that and choose the correct path - as I did After that you just select SearchlightSimulations to pick the stock The wagons don;t require anything else to make them work. The locos are repaints of other locos that you need to own. Peter
I've done all of that, it's just for some reason when i go into the "assets" folder there's no searchlight files whatsoever. It's almost like nothing was installed.
Update packs might be installed to the Assets folder of the stock to be modified. (Kuju\RailsimulatorUS etc.) Just install to an empty folder and you'll see what gets installed.
I did not have any Searchlight Simulations downloads before today These wagons installed to a new SearchlightSimulations folder. Is your Railworks folder in the default place? C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\RailWorks If so your AV might have blocked the installation.
So, it seems the freight packs are working fine, however the sound packs are not showing up ingame. In fact i believe the auto-installer is putting the sounds into the wrong train folders.
With the AP sound packs they do not normally show up in game. Apart from a Suffix sometimes. They just add the new sounds to the default trains - until you play one of the them you won't know. Run one of these and see if it's different SUPPORTED DLC Marias Pass Stevens Pass ES44BNSFPack01 ES44AC_Pack01_CSX_YN3 ES44NSHP PennCoal Canadian Mountain Passes Sherman Hill Default Kuju
I'm using sherman hill, the sp sd70m and trurail simulations bn sd70mac, though in all cases other sounds, like notching up or using the horn and bell drown out the engine audio.
I would contact Searchlight Simulations or ask the question on Railworks America as somebody else might have had the same problem
