All very nice, but whatever happened to Engineering Express?
Due for release in November and then completely disappeared from the radar with no news of any description.

They've ignored my post on their (Rivets) forum too, so either it's being totally overhauled, it was rejected or it's got some game breaking issues

Did Rivet Games stuff really travel on this train? Why should announcement begin with the name of train? There are some video of this route and they could copy at least the text of the announcement.

Copyright laws, there has to be enough of a difference between the ingame audio and real life one.
Just because they have the licence for the train, the digital and audio systems aren't always included. Hence why alot of the PIS is 'close enough' rather than excatly the same.

It certainly looks pretty. No mountain pop-up either, seemingly, but I’ll wait for some console footage before considering buying this

I agree, but to start a announce with word "Allegra".... It's not the better way

That's actually accurate! "Allegra" is a greeting in Romansch, the fourth Swiss national language (and historically, the main language in the Engadin valley, where St Moritz is.)

The 385 on Edinburgh has an option to say 'this 385 service is for...'

I think it's just artistic licence.
    LNER Azuma's announce themselves.

On the other side of the Bernina Pass, the announcements are actually made in Romansch first, then in Swiss German, and in English. But all "welcome" messages start with Allegra, regardless of the language. See the video:

They made a really broad comment in one of their socials that it's still being worked on. It could also be a licensing issue

Which languages are used, and in which order they are used, depends on the different stations. They are switched up during the route.
So in parts, where italian is the mostly spoken language, they will use Italian first, etc.
This is correct in rivets representation

I searched to see what they are talking about in the stream.

Everything is overly bright and washed out looking, and the gauges and the display in the cab is not looking good as they go through a tunnel. Some of the things are just Not working as they tried to show it off. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

That overly bright and washed out look is the new lighting system in daylight conditions.
It has never looked good imo. It only looks good in dawn and dusk conditions. Otherwise its basically a nuclear blast effect.

This route had lots of potential, however I’m not super impressed so far. The grass in many areas is the wrong colour, the train sounds are questionable, entire forests are missing and there’s nowhere near enough snow in winter. Some of the galleries looked pretty nasty inside too. I was a bit confused when Jasper said they couldn’t put the 8/12 on ARL because the timetable was full already. For A$60 I think it’s reasonable to expect a layer onto ARL. Maybe a modder will do that down the track.

Grass isn't really a big deal. It shouldn't be a factor in calling a route good or bad. It's like saying the sky is too blue or the flowers are that wrong color. There's more important issues than grass.

I disagree. At the moment it looks more like plasticine than grass.

it’s a bit route dependent, if a particularly awful colour is used then it should be changed, but apart from that theirs probably a lot of other priorities.

I have to admit that I am pleasantly surprised. :) I expected a worse design. Above all, the mountains look good and there doesn't seem to be any tree popping, or only a little or if so, rather inconspicuous.

Now the route is out, shouldn’t it have a dedicated thread in the Player Feedback section? Sorry to tag DTG Alex

I pre-ordered this new line. I think I'll like it. But seeing the preview on twitch, Rivet Games needs to update Arosa Line. They cannot leave this railway line in the state it is in after releasing Berninalinie - Tirano. out of respect for buyers. Otherwise, it's a bit like CD projekt abandoned Cyberpunk as soon as it was released....

How does the turnaround work at Tirano if there are coaches attached to the Allegra? Is it simulated?

IRL, the Allegra does its own shunting (using the line out of Tirano as the head shunt). Pushes the coaches back somewhat, then uses the runaround track to bypass them, and finally comes back to push them all the way back to the buffer, Allegra now at the "new" front of the train.
IRL it can be sometimes a bit more complicated than that because some rolling stock has rules dictating where it can be. IIRC the 4-wheeled panoramic coaches have to be separated from anything with a pantograph by at least 2 coaches, so they're often shunted at the back of the train, which involves splitting the train during the runaround at Tirano (and St Moritz)

I was going to ask in the Q&A thread since that got mentioned during the stream yesterday, but this has been closed. DTG JD, what's the plan for safety systems on consoles? Jasper mentioned they can be turned on using keyboard on PC, but there's no switches in the cab, which means they won't be accessible AFAIK on consoles (for those of us that don't have a keyboard that can connect to a PS5.)

Is there a plan for the core game to add some kind of button mapping to enable/disable safety systems on consoles?

It's not just a simple update. It needs to be completely rebuilt. You build with lidar, not add it in later

There is so much lost potential with the Arosa line this screenshot says it all, and as rennekton#1349 has said, that could make it better, but I don't see that happening. And even at a 10% discount still makes this $35.99 = 36.00 just have a look see here what some around the world will or could pay. Neapolitan pizza is probably the most famous but it is not the only one. In other cities (Rome, and not only Rome) the recipe differs a little (typically in terms of cooking and thickness of the dough) but we are still talking about pizza. This is to say that pizza is a typical product of all of Italy, from north to south.

Well, an update was posted stating console users will not be able to use the safety systems on release because you can only activate them via keyboard. They said they are working on it but they also said they still have to confirm the implementation of the functionality? lol

And this is coming out in just 4 DAYS... if the OP is correct. If so pull it back, do a bit of rework, and make better. :)

How are people playing some of the safety systems without a keyboard? I've never once managed to acknowledge PZB using the PS5 controller, despite it supposedly being mapped to circle.

So is the next train going to be one of those Asian of a sort "china" I think that are mostly automated. How simplified is this going to be? if that is the case.

I thought there was going to be a ‘standard features list’ that made sure this kind of thing never happened again. I would have also thought they would start testing things on console earlier so that these issues aren’t only brought up by someone asking a question in the live preview stream. What else isn’t going to work on consoles that will only be discovered by players on release?

Yep, they needed someone asking during a preview stream to realize that you can't enable the safety systems without a keyboard... Things like this or the typo in the route name on the promo image shows how little care they take when making new add-ons. Sad, because how much better things could be if they actually took proper care with things.

This is the result when your QA testing admittedly consist of just barely checking if the route runs without crashing. People have been asking for better QA for years now, but the developers just don't care.

Great plan to test basic features in the last 4 days before release.

Safely guaranteed this dlc has not been fully tested on console..

On Xbox it’s “B” so should be just “Circle” on PlayStation (Immersion Controls)

A couple of years ago DTG supposedly hired a " QA Czar " to oversee and improve the testing process. Wonder what happened to that idea? Or doesn't he/she cover 3rd party dlc?

Testing isn't the problem. Taking what's found during testing and caring enough to fix it is.

Testing is the problem, because judging by their reaction, during a whole year of development noone realized that you can't turn on the safety systems without a keyboard.

Probably because safety systems aren't included in the testing routine.

I wish it had been designed that safety systems take the global setting to use them or not and be enabled in the loco automatically, instead of the requirement to enable them manually for each loco when starting the service/scenario. Would save some time.
