I have a suggestion for a new route Chicago to Milwaukee Amtrak service with freight service as well. There are 7 trains that run daily back and forth, there are 5 stops along the route, approximate mileage is 86 miles. Chicago Union Station - Glenview - Sturtevant - Milwaukee International Airport - Milwaukee Intermodal Station. The types of locomotives are; P40DC, P42DC, the official name for these are the Genesis series. You can use google maps for detailed info on the track layout. Milwaukee to Chicago is known as the Hiawatha Service. Amtrak service times start at 6:30 am and end at 8:30 pm there are slight time differences between the Northbound and Southbound trains. The freight tracks are owned by the Canadian Pacific R.R. Co. There are multiple industries along the route, steel, chemical, PPG, etc. I would love to see freight service between the two cities, and a “ free mode “ like the one in the New York map ,(The New York Switcher scenario ). Thank you for bringing a train simulator to the PlayStation 4, I really love the game and would love to see more U.S. tracks.

What you included sounds nice but some pictures of the line and trains would help.

Hello my friends I have some pictures of the locomotives previously mentioned. They are as follows; P40 DC , P42 DC ( Amtrak), and the Dash 8 ( Union Pacific). Hope this helps, and have a great day.

I need that dash 8. BTW if I were you, I would edit the forum and include station pictures and engine pictures all in the same message. Though this route sounds very cool. One question, does the wide cab dash 9's run there, they would be another good engine.

And this would be Milwaukee Intermodal Amtrak Station . Hopefully this will help. I am not sure if Dash 9 locomotives run on the route between the two cities, but I shall have to do some train watching soon. Take care and keep on gaming.

Cool idea. I think the route could include a UP C40-8, SD70M, Amtrak P42DC with Hiawatha consist, and maybe a GP38-2, GP40-2, GP50, or GP60. Chicago Metra or Amtrak F40PHs could be cool, too. I agree that we need more US routes, especially with freight operations.

Does America have nicknames for these trains

Not really. I know standard cab dash 8's and 9' like my profile pic are nicknamed tophats. ND sd60's with the lights on the front are nicknamed triclops.

Are you sure that Amtrak P32 run there too? I know that it work only in the routes from NY PENN, due diesel trains can't enter in PENN.

My mistake, you are right, the P32AC-DM does not run on the Hiawatha route. I know that in the future that they may bring the new Siemens Charger locomotives to run on the Hiawatha route.

That is sad because I love the Dash 8 models. I still have one for my model railroad, but I am not scrapping it haha. Anyway I found a map of the route, every little bit helps. I also found out that the Canadian Pacific Railroad Co. owns the tracks from Roundabout to Milwaukee.

They also sold most of them to CN. The locomotives running on the route between Chicago and Milwaukee are basically any main-line locomotives today (Dash 8's, Dash 9's, AC44's, ES44's, ET44's, SD60's, SD70's), as well as passenger locomotives from Metra and Amtrak (F40, F59, MP36, P42, SC-44). Local freights are likely to see older EMD's (SD40's, GP40's, GP38's, SW1500's), and foreign power from all over the continent (CN, UP, BNSF, NS, CSX, KCS) are extremely common.
