Welcome to the Unofficial Screenshot Competition
This is a fun and friendly alternative to the official Screenshot Competition run by DTG.
Here you can share your weekly themed TSC screenshots using any 3rd party / post shot editing etc. creations which are not allowed in the official competition.
    Rules:
    • TSC only shots allowed.
    • Screenshot should be in some way (can be very tenuous) linked to the theme. Otherwise anything goes.
    • You can enter up to 3 screenshots, posted as separate posts. You can delete and replace if you wish.
    • 3rd party content / Reshades / Reskins etc. are welcomed but are not mandatory.
    • Previous week's winner to decide winner (can't enter themselves).
    • The winner chooses the new theme for next week (and becomes the new judge).
    • The Judge of the week's decision is final.
    • We strongly discourage any negative comment or criticism of another entry by a fellow contributor, this is a light hearted & fun contest! This is a major "we are all friendly" thread and we hope it will always remain so.
    • Please keep chat to an absolute minimum.
Entries will close at 9:00 PM GMT on Friday, January 14th 2024 and will be judged by me - I'm a railfan obviously.

In the event of this weeks winner not responding by 5:00 PM GMT Sunday, January 14th, a new thread will be created using the theme with the highest votes in this weeks poll.
Theme for this week : Side to Side. (an example shot will be provided, if you don't understand)
Feel free to interpret the theme however you wish.
Good luck to all, but most importantly, remember to have fun.

It's on BR's ECML by simonmd, chosen for winter run, hoping it will be a great host for these trains.

I'm now running on a low-quality setup so the graphics aren't what I'd want them to be. LIRR GP38-2 reskin that's WIP at the moment. Screenshot 2023-08-23 125731.png

Great to see 25 posts in our unofficial little comp.
The current official comp which closes on monday has just 2, one of which is a repeat offering.
Keep it up guys, loving your contributions so far.

Probably because pretty much everyone uses mods these days which would render their entries disqualified in the official comp.

Also DTG’s management of their official contest has been noticeably poor over recent months…

Alright everyone I think it's time to wrap up this competition. Thank you for your great entries which made everything so much harder.
In 5th place we have Blazin's picture of a Stadler FLIRT (my favourite) and an ICE-T. I like the angle and the rolling stock included.[IMG]
In 4th place we have cunningn#3154 with this shot of steam trains at Cambridge. I always appreciate some history throwbacks and the camera angle is pretty good.[IMG]
In 3rd place we have Cscarpenter with some freightliners in a yard. I like the variety and amount of trains included here, and the lighting is pretty good. [IMG]
In 2nd place we have PhÜnKî_Rø0sTā with some amercian diesels. The angle is great and the lighting is amazing! Well done![IMG]
And in 1st place we have Craigie-C with this picture of the early privatisation era in Scotland. The angle and lighting are spot on and rolling stock variety is also pretty great especially with the inclusion of SPT.[IMG]
The golden master key is yours Craigie-C! Take us somewhere further :).

Once again guys, because you weren't in podium placing that doesn't mean your pictures are awful. All of you did absolutely amazing and I would like to congratulate you on your pictures! All of you are honorably mentioned :D!

Oh wow! that was an unexpected, pleasant surprise, I was somewhat late to the parade this week due to work commitments and PC issues. Many thanks I'm a railfan obviously, it is genuinely appreciated. Must admit it was a terrific week for a wide variation of great shots from all concerned, well done everyone .
Next weeks' thread is now up and running with the theme:- "Leaving The Station"
