Not much to say on this post, as if you play TSC you’ll know this route very well.
A conversion to TSW would work great.

At 44 miles (71km) route length.
The possibility to give some more life to the Thameslink Class 700 and East Midlands HST.
Commuter and High speed services. Freight too.

Would be ideal for featuring a Class 222 DEMU, as well as introducing the Class 700/1 subclass plus operations on AC overhead power with that class. It could even include the Thameslink core down to Blackfriars with power changeover operations at Farringdon.

Goodness me - must've been ages since I was last there - ato since 2018. Perhaps would be interesting though to have ato, but also allow them to be driven manually?

Take it to Leicester or Oakham. It's about time we had some long British routes.

That would be too much and very unlikely. London-Bedford is already a massive project and adding an extra 40+ miles would be even more work. There’s a reason DTG went with Peterborough-Doncaster for ECML

This would be an 8/10 route for me. So a first day purchase.

They could populate it with the EMR HST, 700s and a few 66 freight services and it would be fine. Don't forget that until recently it also had 377s and 387s on Thameslink services, so a 2017-ish version with a brand new Class 319 and all of the above would be an outstanding and varied bit of DLC. I favour transition-era DLC and wish there was more in TSW.

Not a fan of the 222s personally but maybe that's because the TSC version isn't great.

They could make this route, I’m not saying they shouldn’t. But leaving at Bedford is the mostly likely decision they’d make and based on their previous routes I don’t think make a route so long and so dense is a good idea

People's preferences as to where they want the route to go should be taken into account by DTG. Its called listening to their customers.

I don't care if it takes them two years to develop a route of a decent length, as long as they do. Most routes are too short.

    He's got a point.

Not the first time a route has been made shorter than it otherwise could have been.

I think we should all to take some time to appreciate the work at DTG. The statement above is completely correct and yet we may not all agree with decisions that DTG make and the majority of us complain about the lack of effort they put in, including myself. Think about it now, they work everyday to put something out on their X page, they respond to forums and also join together to create regular content and much more. So take this time to appreciate the work of DTG. Thinking about it now I should not have complained so much about it and I most certainly won't continue to. I am about to play the S- Bahn which surprised me as it is my favourite route that is set in another country. I still prefer British routes but it was a great alternative. If you are going to complain about the game then don't play it or participate in the forums. Let's all appreciate the work at DTG.

It shows that you also have respect in the forums. You never participate in arguments or create negative comments.

They're aren't actually that many stations north of Bedford and they are relatively small. The Harrington Viaduct is the longest in Britain and would be a great addition if the Corby and Oakham branch was included.

I don't understand why we can have a very long German main line, but not a British one?

If the line you're referring to is Kassel-Wurzburg, that's because most of the scenery was copy and paste, which made it easier. This suggestion goes through major urban areas.

Can't see why the Corby branch can't be included, though.

The sprawling suburbs of London and the home counties didn't stop DTG doing GWR and BML. If anything the MML from St. Pancras to Bedford has a shorter section of suburbia to model as there are long cuttings and tunnels under the most built-up areas of north London before it hits the Green Belt just beyond Hendon. If MML isn't made between London and Bedford it won't be because it was a difficult route to model.

This route would definitely offer something different and I would most certainly take it in TSW4
