Part 6 of a chronological depiction of an Autumn morning stopping passenger service QD, from Inverness to Kyle of Lochalsh on Just Trains - The Kyle Line, a route purchased at the tail end of Steam's Autumn sale. The train consists of a Caledonia Works Highland Railway "Jones Goods" 4-6-0 tendered steam loco, seen in radioactive yellow livery, pulling four AP MK1 coaches. According to (link) Rail Map Online - UK & IE Railways (link) Kyle Line was, during the pre-grouping era, part of The Highland Railway, making it a suitable match for the loco. Three screenshots this evening: Double-headed Union Pacific ES44AC locomotives take charge of an afternoon cement freight train as it approaches Glenn Park: A pair of SD40-2 locomotives passes Soldier Pond (Wallagrass) with a northbound mixed freight bound for Fort Kent on a snowy afternoon: Under snowy conditions, SD40-2 No.3550 has just crossed Pinette Brook as it leads the Madawaska to Eagle Lake passenger train:
Set 1 in a multipart chronological depiction of an Autumn morning stopping passenger service QuickDrive on Golden Age Developments' West of England Mainline route, recently updated to "phase 2", which extends tracks further eastward to Yeovil Town. Our journey begins there, stopping at all stations until the drive terminates at Exeter. I considered using an official standard scenario for this first full run on the extended route, but didn't want the hassle of keeping to a possibly tight timetable that might impede screenshot capture. That being the case, I elected to power the train with Caledonia Works rendering of the LSWR 415/0415 class 4-4-2T steam locomotive, commonly known as the Adams Radial Tank. It is seen in Adams Brown Livery, pulling six LSWR coaches. The loco proved insufficient for the task at hand, though we finish the run, by means I'll divulge at the appropriate time. That moment when you try to push a Class 221 to its limit by testing the tilting mechanism and traveling at a higher speed over a line that wasn't designed for high speed running (Marias Pass) - this was the unfortunate result. Surprisingly, the rear 4 cars of the 10 car consist managed to stay on the rails.
I figured I would try and give it a shot as over here in Australia, we have a tilting train that runs on existing infrastructure at higher speeds. so I tried to replicate something similar by seeing how much time I could shave off a trip from whitefish to Shelby . I think there’s some sections on the line that are around sixty to seventy miles per hour. Assaulting train probably would be allowed to do a bit more. Unfortunately I took a 50 mph curve at about 80 mph. I did, however complete such a trip awhile back and I managed to complete it in just over two hours, with stops at each station along the way
I don’t mean to go off topic from the thread, but would you be referring to Queensland Rail’s Diesel Tilt Train (Spirit of Queensland) and Electric Tilt Train sets? They’re engineering marvels for 3ft 6in gauge rail in my opinion! They are looking a bit dirty as of late though and need a clean.
That's correct - I've been on both (I'm a QLDer myself), but pity the DTT doesn't have proper sleepr cars. I'm quite surprised that NSW didn't invest in them, given that they did a trial in the 90s - they'd benefit greatly from a bi-mode version and could shave significant time off the Sydney-Melbourne trip - I'll be interested how the new CAF trains will go seeing as they don't tilt.
I agree, that’s where the Diesel Tilt Train falls short of the Sunlander in my opinion. For some reason Queensland Rail has a weird anti-sleeper coach mentality as overnight trips such as the Inlander and Westlander don’t have sleeper coaches which severely hurts their passenger numbers. I believe only the Spirit of the Outback continues to have classic sleepers.
Part 2 of a multi-set chronological depiction of an Autumn morning stopping passenger service QD, from Newport to Shrewsbury, on Welsh Marches Line - Newport to Shrewsbury, which makes use of AP's recently released Veggie Pack. Motive power is provided by a Caledonia Works GWR 3031 Achilles class 4-2-2 tendered steam loco, commonly known as a Dean Single. Came a little late to the unoffical contest this week, one of those would have been uploaded over there. Fort William to Mallaig Route, leaving Corpach. RWE + Reshade including unplayable framerates
Just memories this week as I'm busy with other things. EMD GP7 with a couple N5 cabooses EMD FL9 exits the tunnel to Grand Central with Shoreliners in tow. BR Blue express to Kings Cross. The mixed row of houses adds bits of continental city vibe. Green 101 in green nature. (Officially BR Blue) Class 67 Diamond Jubilee leads a royal train out of London Paddington to the horses.
Set 3 of a multipart chronological depiction of a mid-summer stopping passenger service QD, from Carlisle to Settle, on DTG Settle to Carlisle route. Primary motivation for the run was to check out recently installed AP Veggie Pack. It also came to me that I've never featured Donington's Midland Rwy reskin for CW's GERT26. According to Rail Map Online, Settle to Carlisle was, in pre-grouping days, part of MidRwy. That, plus an absence of bona fide MR steam locos in my roundhouse, made the reskin a logical choice. Stevens Pass, "Special Delivery Part 1", using my own sky replacement (which is AP colours applied to core sky - I like those clouds and it is fully compatible with the original scenario weather blueprints, this one has some nice weather changes...)
I honestly cant get enough of the Aem-7 so weird to not see them run on the Northeast Corridor anymore but anyways heres a few screens of my metroliner consist on Just Trains Valley Corridor (also on a personal note) I have an O scale model of 908 in Phase III livery in my home
Love these too. But please consider applying my SilverLining Snowflake patch. They do look ridiculous at the moment. https://forums.dovetailgames.com/threads/silverlining-3d-snow-patch.77778/

Taking the 90 for a ride on GEML on a stormy day... Inspired by Alistair Cowell's picture, chose to revisit ole Ft. Kent again.
Southeastern Class 395 '395 021' forms a 6 coach long train beginning at St Pancras International on a wet, foggy day departing for Faversham 30 minutes before midday. The train travels via the High Speed 1 line on 25 kV 50Hz AC power stopping at Stratford International and arriving on the upper platforms of Ebbsfleet International before making the switch to 750 V DC third rail power for the rest of the journey to Faversham. After departing from Ebbsfleet International, the train travels on the North Kent Line stopping at Gravesend and Strood before joining the Chatham Main Line making a further 5 station stops until reaching Faversham during the Summer of 2013. Locos: British Rail Class 375, British Rail Class 395 Route: London-Faversham High Speed
Set 0 of a multipart chronological depiction of a mid-autumn morning stopping passenger service QD, from London to Peterborough, on DTG ECML London - Peterborough route, which makes use of AP's Veggie Pack. Motive power is Caledonia Works' GER T69 4-6-0 tendered steam loco, seen in LNER B12 Lined Black Livery. It hauls what QD terms the 1936 Queen of Scotland Coach Set. As such, I selected Queen of Scots for the loco's headboard. We travel the "slow" track, allowing stops at all stations en route. London King's Cross Station, 0857. The incoming train, illuminating our loco, winks not at us, I suspect, but rather at the lady fronting our camera position: Departing King's Cross: RWE 2 (partially gimped due to serz.exe error), AP S&W2+Clouds+Veggies TO BE CONTINUED . . .

Set 2 in a multipart series chronologically documenting a mid-Autumn morning stopping passenger sevice QuickDrive, from Crewe to Holyhead, on North Wales Coast Line route, acquired during Steam's Winter 2023/24 sale. Having belonged to LNWR in pre-grouping days, I power the train with a favorite steam-era loco, Caledonia Works' LNWR "Greater Britain", No.3435 "Queen Empress" to be exact, seen in Lilac & Cream livery. Though Greater Britain looks to be a conventional 2-4-2 tendered locomotive, it is in actuality a 2-2-2-2 compound loco. It pulls four LNWR coaches, the last of them an observation coach, which I failed to get a decent capture of. On display are AP's Vegetation, Weather and Clouds Packs, as well as RW Enhancer 2. The sun remains low in the sky, creating dark, moody landscapes: RW Enhancer 2 (partially gimped due to serz.exe error), AP S&W2+Clouds+Veggies TO BE CONTINUED . . .
BR 7F No.53807 arrives at Milton of Campsie while working the 3.00pm Aberfoyle to Glasgow Queen Street train:
On a miserable day in the south of the United Kingdom, it is pouring rain during the Autumn of 2017 and a rare empty stock move is taking place where Southern Class 377s '377163' and '377164' embark on a late morning journey on the Chatham Main Line designated as service 5Z72 beginning from London Victoria and coming to a stop at Faversham where a crew change will take place for the rest of the journey to Ramsgate after covering a distance of about 51 miles. The purpose of this rare run is that these Class 377s are being transferred to Southeastern and are required to be moved for them. However the journey to Faversham was not smooth as the train already began late by 6 minutes due to faulty equipment and had to follow service 1S30, a Dover Priory bound train all the way to Faversham facing many adverse signal aspects and being forced to stop at red signals multiple times. Locos: British Rail Class 377, British Rail Class 395, British Rail Class 465 Route: Chatham Main Line: London Victoria & Blackfriars - Dover & Ramsgate
Took an 8-car class 421 for a run on the Brighton Main Line - stopped all stations to Gatwick Airport then express from the to London Victoria stopping only at East Croydon and Clapham Junction. Unfortunately I SPADed just outside of London Vic which resulted in a southbound 421 crashing into me - and I was only about half a mile away from the terminus.
Maine Central EMD GP40 '310' begins a day of shunting work on a lovely Summer morning in Maine north of Portland in East Deering picking up a short rake of freight wagons. Afterwards, the train crosses the Back Cove Swing Bridge and heads along the people and cars of Pine Street in Portland. The train makes a brief stop here and reverses into a port siding to pick up a single refrigerator wagon at Union Wharf and afterwards continues south onto Pine Point where the wagons will be dropped off covering a distance of around 13 miles on the shunting move. Loco: EMD GP40 Route: Portland Terminal Decided to try out PhÜnKî_Rø0sTā 's "Realism Shaders" preset on v5.0 with the ReShade program installed into the game with a few small tweaks of my own from his recommended settings (such as lowering the contrast a tiny bit in the game settings). I can definitely say I really like it, and with a few more tweaks I feel this shader can get even better. Currently though I would say it's definitely a free alternative to the likes of RW Enhancer Pro / 2's graphic enhancements. However this preset is of course best used with Armstrong Powerhouse Sky & Weather Enhancement Pack 2.0 but that's about all else you need to use alongside the preset for the game to look really good! Very impressive, well done PhÜnKî_Rø0sTā ! Also considering that this is a very old route (released in 2011) I feel it would look even better on modern routes which I haven't tried it out on yet but I hope to do that soon!
Thank you, however I can't take all the credit. I used Pookeyhead's shader as a basis and modified it from there.
Part 7 of a chronological depiction of an Autumn morning stopping passenger service QD, from Inverness to Kyle of Lochalsh on Just Trains - The Kyle Line, a route purchased at the tail end of Steam's Autumn sale. Union Pacific EMD SD60M '2250' begins light engine in the sidings of the Cheyenne Railway Yard during the afternoon and refuels before coupling up to a further 2 EMD SD60Ms, '2347' and '2428', to haul a manifest train on the Laramie Subdivision of southern Wyoming. The train departs from Cheyenne and heads west without issue until reaching Borie where another freight train joins the line ahead of the EMD SD60Ms forcing the train to follow it until being forced to come to a stop at Granite covering a distance of about 19 miles in the process. Loco: EMD SD60M Route: Sherman Hill
When you jump outside of the cab and see a glorious matchup of 2x GNER HSTs, a smile creeps across your face................ .................A while later you again jump out the cab and bask in the beauty of the GNER Class 43 .................... .............. and then jump back in to the driving seat and bathe in the luxury of the GST updated cab.............. .............. Happy days.com I fell out of love with the HSTs a while back but this latest update has made me revisit the world of the Class 43 and by heck, how glad am I that I did. Thanks dunkrez for this amazing update to one of the most iconic pieces of classic UK railway traction ever produced. https://alanthomsonsim.com/product/hst-modern-cab-pack/
Thank you! I can't really express/convey how much work has gone into this, not just from myself but also the ATS team. I've said this elsewhere... as good as it is now, I promise, it'll only get better with each coming update. Due to the vast scope of the pack, there may be bits or bobs that have been missed that need some extra attention - however, I'm working through some bits at the moment which will polish things up further. I probably won't be producing a pack with this much scope again as there seems to be a division in the scene over the quality of what I have produced here - most really love it, some, it seems sadly (a hardcore few), don't like it and have chosen to outright bash it and GST. However, for everyone that has enjoyed the pack, thank you so much, it means a lot and therefore my efforts and those of the team weren't entirely in vain. P.S. I'll never close off my comments as all feedback, even scathing is something I find valuable.
Some people are never happy. There is also a point where it's not efficient to put in any more detail. I'm not the target audience but it looks nice to me. Keep up the good work.
Don't worry about it, like triznya.andras says there are some people who are just never happy with anything. If most really love it, you are doing something right in my opinion. Those who don't bash and instead offer valid constructive criticism are those who you should listen to. I don't own any of your third party DLC myself but I can tell they are well made and lots of work and effort has gone into them as I check in on your development threads every now and then.
The Summer of 1955 sees British Railways Thompson Class B1 '61077' begin at London Road in Manchester depart for a journey to Skegness with excited Summer holidaymakers onboard the 4 Mk1 Coaches being hauled by the train. The train begins departs from London Road about 10 minutes after 8:00am and heads east along the Woodhead Line making stops at Guide Bridge, Dinting, Hadfield, Penistone and finally a stop at Sheffield Victoria an hour after departure from London Road for a well deserved break after traversing the steep inclines and declines of the Woodhead Line after covering a distance of around 41 miles.
