Safety Systems On By Default (option)

Well they seem to be good at not achieving that goal but very good at false advertising it seems

 

Recently Iit is mainly laid back directed game...

 

Quite , I’m starting to think they get paid on a per bug basis

Because just because DTG say it is doesn't mean it actually is. Gran Turismo is advertised as 'The Real Driving Simulator' despite not being a simulator. Similarly, simulating something doesn't make it a simulator. You can simulate base jumping in GTA 5, but that doesn't making it a parachute simulator.

For me something only counts as a simulator if the realism is high enough and/or is used in a professional training setting. Nautis counts as one, Zusi counts as one, iRacing counts as one, but not TS or TSW.

 

Of course we as players, as consumers, will form an opinion whether a product is as advertised or not.

Advertising something and offering something else is not permitted. So a vendor, producer, manufacturer's description of their product is more than their opinion when this is put up for sale.

Point is, games like "Bum simulator" or "Sims 4" are not advertised as simulators and people know what to expect.
Your first contact with the product before buying it is the description, that convinces you or not to purchase it.

maybe it isnt as detailed as TSC or as hardcore as Zusi, but it is an awesome entry point into how things work in trains and railways... to play it you still need to watch videos and read guides/articles on how to use stuff on a train, signalling etc... which means that once you really master TSW, you are going to have a good start in TSC and later Zusi... and some ppl, one day, may become so inspired and motivated as to join railways in real life as real loco drivers and thats a great thing, isnt it ? I mean, this is like one of the best recruitment thingies for railways ever

 

I don't know about anyone else, but I already had an interest in railways. I will say that playing this game made me love them more and probably was a factor into how I got my job.

 

And?

If people think tsw is a sim, they have every right to think that. That also goes for people that don't. That doesn't mean that either view is inappropriate and I wouldn't believe for a second that DTG would think it is inappropriate either

 

Aren't all sims games anyway. They're sold as such.

 

Yeah, would be nice to have an option to have it turned on by default or not. Perhaps that it's off for beginners. A toggle option in the options menu.
