Just saw this whilst browsing YouTube. I am enjoying these small packs to add more variety to routes and this will be in my basket on Tuesday.

The liveries certainly look nice! Let’s hope the timetable services don’t disappoint, lots of potential to add some flavor to the route.

FINALLY, something other than the outdated EWS livery and its mud variants! Great to see DRS make their TSW debut, hopefully see a 68 or 88 in future.

Yay I’m all for more liveries bring ‘em on. The pink One livery is a matter of (someone else’s) personal taste, but the other DRS variants definitely appeal.

Are there any changes to the 66 besides the liveries? Also which 66 is this pack using? Is it the most recent ECML version?

DTG definitely seems AWOL at the moment.

What the heck is going on? The Christmas break ended ages ago.

The ONE 66 has the side door on the body side as seen in the pic below. Its not as pink to be fair, looks kind of weathered. It still has the Knuckle coupler. But I think that will endure a bit more modelling to remove it. Theversion of the 66 looks as though its the RHTT version used on SEHS. It does have the RHTT Control Module in the cab as well. So in theory could appear on RHTT services. Also I am hoping that they randomley layer in on services. You can use them on other routes. So fingers crossed that they sub in.

    Hope this helps.

meMC83 They are about dont worry abou that :) I think its been left to Rivet to do the promotion. I suspect a news piece will be going out later today or Tuesday.

They can take as long as a break they want lol. Probably didn't take one in a really long time. Or they just got back and are playing catch up with everything they missed and are busy. Matt would be the only person from the dev team who would respond anyway and community people

    Hello everyone,

To clarify - we'll be sharing our launch articles and more content covering the release of the Engineering Express pack from Rivet Games when it is available tomorrow. As standard with newer releases, we allow our ambassadors a 24-hour early embargo to showcase content and allow the community a chance to review it, form their own opinions and additionally support multiple languages (effectively unofficial 'previews').

We've seen early success with this method of sharing content so far, and we will include mention of these showcases on our RFTV Schedule posts in the announcements forum. :)

I quite like the liveries and the new wagon. Shame to hear there's only content for Edinburgh-Glasgow, a route I don't have and have no intention on getting. Would've loved some more 66 variations and services on other routes.

I would hope that DTG provide layers for cl 66 livery substitution on all appropriate routes. ;)

Seems a strange thing to call radio silence an effective method, if not for this thread I probably wouldn’t have knew it was releasing any time soon.

can’t see how less places to announce it would be the most effective.

    Edit:

as someone who doesn’t own ScotRail express I’m not sure 2 liveries would be the most ideal pack at this price tag (£10), that’s usually more around £5 which also includes the scenarios as seen with DTG and the new 3rd party developer who did a pack for the 323 (apologies I forgot their name)

just my take on this :)

Well, I didn't buy the 323 Centro Trains pack and I quite likely won't buy this one either. But that aside, not promoting it on here in the run up to it's release tomorrow is an.... interesting choice.

Let's be honest the reason why they're not advertising this pack all that much is because everyone knows this is a low effort reskin that shouldn't be £10 (almost the same price as a loco dlc)

Everything about this pack from the seacows to the coupling adapter and services is fictional and there's still EWS branding inside the cabs so this is not something I would want to add to my collection as if anything this would hurt the immersion.

I don't like to use this term but I think cashgrab is a fairly accurate description of this pack, the idea of more liveries for the 66 is nice but not if they're not going to go the extra effort to model them accurately. I'll just stick to creators club.

You're paying for scenarios and services. It has existed since tsc but you get more for what you pay.

Enjoying the new Swiss route but wasn’t aware they wanted £10 for this pack. That’s a showstopper for me. I was thinking these reskins would be the same price as the recent 323 pack. Making liveries but not changing the in-cab branding seems like half a job, sorry Rivet.

Whilst us ‘mugs’ keep forking out there is absolutely no incentive for Rivet to do a proper job.
Where is the quality control at Rivet or DTG? Someone should have seen the incorrect cab branding before release surely?!

Finally, I take absolute zero interest in what your ambassadors think….all they care about is freebies that the rest of us paying punters subsidise one way or another DTG Alex.

I think its safe to say that there is quality control, but they are overruled in most cases.

Paying double the usual then missing out pretty big details… it is a further hit at the asking price, can’t really see its due to a quality increase…

pretty unacceptable, these kinds of packs seemed to edge on the acceptable side before hand, now they are in a worse position.

Uh no they don't. I've seen many ambassador streams and they offer their criticism where it's needed and give bug reports. They never say a dlc is perfect

From what I have seen on YouTube streams today, this is a very lazy DLC pack by Rivet Games.

    - The Class 66 cabs still have all the EWS posters in the drivers cabs. Only the external paint has been changed.

    - Why include Seacow wagons (that have been obsolete for nearly 20 years), on a modern route?

    - The ONE livery Class 66 has the wrong couplers.

    - The DRS Class 66s have wrong numbers.

    - The jumper cables between the Class 66 and 385 do not connect when coupled and just glitch everywhere like crazy.

    - At least one of the scenarios are broken.

There is no way I am touching this DLC.

    It's £9.99

But I wouldn't give you 99p for it in it's current state.

So another underwhelming and lazy reskin? Why? These packs could actually be pretty great if done properly! But things like wrong couplers and not even bothering to change the cab details... This is like freeware reskin quality, not a paid add-on pack.

Just because you haven't heard about the price doesn't mean people have made it up.

It was first confirmed back in the November roadmap that is was gonna cost £10 and the ambassadors have also confirmed it's £10

The scenarios in these gameplay packs aren't interesting and not everyone who plays tsw plays the scenarios. I agree with those that call this a cash grab especially when Edinburgh-Glasgow still has issues that haven't been fixed almost a year after release. Also I am tired of seeing the class 66 reskinned so many times

I'd say this pack only has value if you like scenarios. Otherwise, it's just another poor quality DLC.

This shouldn't really be much more than the ROG37 imo and at least that got some internal work done to it. Plus the ROG is actually a better product for less. Mental isn't it.

How they can charge 9.99 for this mess is beyond me.

So does the ROG 37/7. And it's better anyway and costs less. So your point is?

Both available from November 21st this is January 22nd :D

If it is only that price bargain will be in me basket on release tomorrow look forward to it

Going by the usual, if prices are determined by time and investment put into a product then an entire new train can be done at just an extra £3 per sale compared to doing 2 liveries on a 66… (scenarios, services etc are in both)

there is other factors but when it comes to customer value, this kind of pack isn’t winning that.

well the beauty of the sim is you dont have to buy everything. Me i will continue to buy these small packs to enhance routes. I have the central trains 323 and Cargo line V1 and really enjoy them so this will be in my collection tomorrow

    Yep, or non or all.

though this kind of thing will dig in as accepted if it’s not showed that it isn’t by those who perhaps don’t think it is.

suppose the best will probably be to let the sales numbers do the talking.

I’ve seen very similar/ suspiciously similar in fact with EA, but that is EA and they don’t care as long as the cash rolls.

I must admit when I first saw the DRS 66 that was my first thought as well, but no, 66126 is with DRS.

All 4 EWS 66's are with DRS under long term hire.
So in effect the DRS 66's in game are correct as they still have their knuckle couplers fitted. I only found that to be correct on Sunday. At the end of the day I personally think they should had gone with the MFA wagons instead of the Sea cows.... but hey ho.
