Welcome to the Unofficial Screenshot Competition This is a fun and friendly alternative to the official Screenshot Competition run by DTG. Here you can share your weekly themed TSC screenshots using any 3rd party / post shot editing etc. creations which are not allowed in the official competition. Rules: TSC only shots allowed. Screenshot should be in some way (can be very tenuous) linked to the theme. Otherwise anything goes. You can enter up to 3 screenshots, posted as separate posts. You can delete and replace if you wish. 3rd party content / Reshades / Reskins etc. are welcomed but are not mandatory. Previous week's winner to decide winner (can't enter themselves). The winner chooses the new theme for next week (and becomes the new judge). The Judge of the week's decision is final. We strongly discourage any negative comment or criticism of another entry by a fellow contributor, this is a light hearted & fun contest! This is a major "we are all friendly" thread and we hope it will always remain so. Please keep chat to an absolute minimum. Entries will close at 9:00 PM GMT on Friday, January 19th 2024 and will be judged by me - Craigie-C In the event of this weeks winner not responding by 5:00 PM GMT Sunday, January 21st, a new thread will be created using the theme with the highest votes in this weeks poll. Hi all, firstly a huge "Thank You" to you all for your terrific contributions, it has been a real pleasure sifting through them all and trying to choose winners. I have finally decided, after much deliberation to go with the following:- Joint 3rd place is awarded to PhÜnKî_Rø0sTā for this cracking 158 shot, and I'm a railfan obviously for this terrific 460 leaving Brighton image. Joint runners up for this week are cscarpenter with this pair of 365s capture, and Blazin for this moody night time empty stock movement at Tamien. Finally I decided to award the honour of this weeks winner to mattdsoares for this superb image. Everything from the chosen viewpoint to the lighting and general fitting the theme with an unusual choice of route / train subject matter just did it for me, well done. The honour of leading us in to week 4 is over to you good sir, looking forward to your choice of theme. Thanks to all for your efforts, they were all brilliant.
mattdsoares Last call before we may have to set up a new thread ourselves with a freestyle theme as you have not yet responded with a new thread, it’s ok if you are busy just please let us know.
I checked yesterday, too - Clicking his profile says: mattdsoares was last seen: Friday at 3:09 PM The forums do offer email notification per thread but I doubt anyone uses it
at the risk of interfering, should this not be a new thread with the top voted theme in the poll above, rather than freestyle?
True, there was a poll Current leader is Whole Train, which is fairly broad, only excludes modern long-distance freight. Unless stuff like spiral tunnels count. Can be interesting to see, how creative people can get away from low-high camera 2 shots.
I’m not sure if email notifications even work, turned it on once and none of the notifications appeared in my email, maybe I did something wrong but I’m not sure. Sorry yes, you’re right. I said freestyle as most of the time this sort of thing happens freestyle somehow ends up being the theme often, and when I’m judging instead of setting up a poll my style is just stating that if this sort of thing happens, the new thread will be freestyle. In short, yes you are right I just made a mistake thinking of my own style and other weekly competitions where this sort of thing happened. If we have to make a new thread by the looks of things it have the theme of “Whole Train” which would be interesting.
Still no login. I would set up the thread at this point. We can still let Matt (or anyone else) judge, default Craigie-C. If no thread by 5pm (3 hours from now) I'll just do it. Obviously depends on who wants to participate, too.
Hi all, such a shame mattdsoares has not responded, i hate it when a worthy winner does not get the chance to chose the theme and select winners but, hey ho, move on seems to be the common choice. I am happy to remain judge for a further week with the winning poll choice of "Whole Train" if that's ok with the rest of you guys. I am also happy to extend the run till a week on Friday as 4 days might be somewhat restrictive for you working type guys. I will set up a new thread accordingly with a closing date of this Friday 26th and see how it goes, we can all play it by ear for a week or so. Thanks all for your understanding. [EDIT] New thread is now live here:- https://forums.dovetailgames.com/th...enshot-contest-2024-week-4.78066/#post-784288 Cheers All
Hi all, many apologies for not responding. I have been traveling and am now in Puerto Rico on vacation and was unable to get to a computer the last couple of days. Craigie-C, thank you for covering for me and hosting another week!
