Suspension Improvement/blackpool Updatess Next Week?

I'm just asking because it's not mentioned as a highlight in the Winter Core update next week.

Are we getting suspension improvements in next week's update please?

Also are we getting the fix to Blackpool branches soon? Specifically the Pacers that are holding up the timetable? Thank you.

 

Nope, no updates and infos on that yet, according to DTG Alex.

 

Jesus, nice to see we still don't have the TSW4 features over four months after release, and that they still aren't even close.

 

And don't expect any add-ons for at least another year to feature them either. Because I assume add-ons currently in development won't have a feature that simply does not exist yet.

 

I'm honestly just tired of being led on and dealing with the never fixed bugs at this point.
Don't announce a feature for a new version of your game, if it's not even going to be ready for over a half a year. It's probably going to be held back till TSW5 at this rate, which will likely be this summer.

 

It is kind of a red flag to release a new game where most of the new features are touted as "coming soon" on the roadmap. I'd expect that from an early access title, not a full-priced new game. It's almost as if they were rushing the release to meet their yearly release deadline.

Another case of a software being oversold and under delivering. What else is new?

I got this new one at work, that’s supposed to auto-dispatch technicians to all the properties that I manage here in the US. It’s a few thousand properties so I need that to work. Didn’t work on launch and 2 months later, they’re still trying to figure it out. Along with a 50+ line spreadsheet of other high priority features that need adding or fixing. Like some rounding glitch that’s causing vendors to get paid wrong amounts.

It’s the most annoying industry to purchase from, always oversold. Could you imagine buying a car and they’re like “yea, come back in a few months and we should be able to install the wipers”

 

It's ridiculous that it's somehow ok for software. It's not acceptable, and in any other industry a company would be eaten alive for it.

Yet, we continue to let them get away with it. They’ll never do better if they don’t have too.

 

Honestly, I'm beyond fed up, I was so excited to be getting formation designer and a new Suspension system and neither of them are anywhere close to being released yet months after release of TSW4. Formation designer beta is about to be available for PC users only and while I accept the way Consoles are designed/configured etc etc there have been many instances of something working fine for PC, gets transferred to Console and it breaks the game. So I'm not expecting a fully functioning Formation designer for all users until March at the earliest. Suspension will probably be delayed until TSW5. I'm now for the first time considering not buying a new TSW game upon release. I've not purchased the last two UK releases (323 livery and Engineering pack) and nothing on the horizon is really getting me interested in purchasing them.

 

Such a shame about the suspension improvements.

In hindsight expecting such a large feature to be ready for this update was kind foolish, especially knowing DTG’s track record. Maybe it’ll come with the last few DLC’s before TSW 5

 

I was kinda expecting it to be ready just after TSW4’s release, as that was the premise under which it was sold. I was then expecting it as part of the Core Update, then as the second part of the core update because that’s what we were told only a matter of weeks ago. I’ve been saying it elsewhere for ages but I 100% believe the only way TSW4 will see the new suspension will be as part of a ‘final’ patch, to be released after TSW5 has gone on sale. The new suspension will be one of the features of that title.

Absolutely nothing surprises me anymore where DTG are concerned. In fact, it will be more of a shock if the above timeline is not how it plays out.

 

It's hard to think otherwise at this point.

 

TSW is very much an Early Access title 7 years on simply without the tag attached to it. Just as broken and bug filled as such titles, except those ones are both expected and usually have work being done towards improving the state of their games. TSW is what it is. A title that held promise, but has been severely anchored by a dev that prioritizes lying to customers and potential customers over building quality software. They're like politicians promising the world during an election cycle then quickly ignoring said promises once they've won as, in this case, they've already got your money.

 

DTG has mastered the art of re-selling an early access title 4 times over the span of a few years.

 

To a smaller and smaller audience

 

I hope that’s true. It may shake them out of their complacency.

A company with more community managers than software engineers and testers it appears to me.

It's really hard to give DTG any brownie points, especially when you mentally review the last couple of years:

1. TSW2 fixes quietly abandoned.

2. TSW3 fixes effectively abandoned (e.g. NYT, CJP ).

3. Steam traction effectively abandoned.

4. TSW4 features nowhere to be seen after 6 months.

Have I missed anything?

Where I come from, after that many strikeouts, you'd be benched.

 

They said it would come with the winter update, they just didn't say which winter.

They also said Formation Designer would be out in this update but now all of a sudden its a PC only Beta

 

Weird, it's almost like TSW4 wasn't anywhere near ready for release after only one year.

No it wasn't, I would not be surprised in the slightest if the full release of Formation Designer is pushed back for TSW 5. TSW feels very stale at the moment and the Direct better have some interesting stuff because i'm slowly losing interest.

 

Yeah I have zero interest in the Goblin Line, or the new German route. I'm hoping the unannounced US route is good, or they have some loco DLC in the pipeline for existing routes. Currently I've got nothing to be excited for in the future for TSW.

 

They did announce tsw2 would be abandoned, so not quiet.

Tsw3 is still expected to get some fixes and improvements. It's just releasing in multiple parts.

 

There better not be a TSW 5 this year.

The feedback last time was very loud and very clear. We don’t want a new release every year. Just update the existing game (unless we get a whole new engine). Sticking a higher number on a release is just a scam.

 

How is it a scam? Scam means something deceiving or a lie so how is a yearly release a scam

 

I mean, we were sold TSW4, which was said to include the Formation Designer, and the new Suspension system. Neither are here after four months. It's isn't a scam, but it's moving closer to the direction all the time.

 

Coming releases of TSW catch minimum interest of mine, especially ger and eng are so ordinary.

 

Because it looks like a ‘big’ new release, yet most of the promised features end up missing on launch and it’s not a big new release. The move to TSW 2 was justified as it was a different engine. TSW 3 and 4 could have just been enhancements to TSW 2.

 

Wow when you list it all out like this it sure sounds like fraud doesn't it?

 

I believe this is a rudderless ship that is like this largely because the person (or persons) at the helm are sadly out of their depth.

There is no consistency, no standardisation, no learning from mistakes, repeated duplication of errors, missed deadlines, stretching the truth to the customer (often around those missed deadlines), a culture of ‘ok’ is good enough, a complete lack of understanding or inclusion of modern gaming standards…the list is endless.

This is an ok, sometimes good & occasionally excellent game/sim but it could and should be so much better. Until the person driving the ship either steps up or steps aside I don’t believe this will change.

 

They need to actually take up the lie they told us prior to TSW3 and TSW4, that things would go quiet while they worked on fixes but instead we got the paid for new versions.

But yes I do agree despite at one point feeling optimistic about TSW they have lost their way. They need management who are not afraid to manage - when the team come to him/her and say we have an idea for a route but it’s going to start at an insignificant junction not the major hub 7 miles up the line, they bang the table and say come back with a proposal which includes proper start and end points. When the artists are painting graffiti on their structures and walls instead of sorting more pressing issues, they get told indulge personal whims on your own time and do your day job properly. If the coders say how hard it is to sort out steam traction, tell them I want to hear solutions not more problems. Doesn’t need to be nasty but sometimes management involves wielding a bit of authority and assertiveness.

 

Tsw4 as of today is 50% off on deluxe edition.... yeah 4 went really well didnt it! Cowboys!

The "summer-hiatus-for-bug-fixing" lie was directed at TSW2. And quite a while *before* acknowledging that #2 will be abandonware. In between, who would've guessed, ................. radio silence.

I bought TSW4 with the intention of driving a train with a reworked suspension system. Im still waiting how many months down the line

 

A scam is something you dind't get it with intention to create a lie.... But it says nothing about the time... Otherwise the intention is not by DTG to didn't bring this update.... So to call it a "scam" is nothing more than try to get likes or create unnecessary hype

 

So what if you purchase an iPhone 15 and Apple only send you the box is that a scam?

 

It might not be a ‘scam’, but it certainly wasn’t particularly ‘honest’ either.

The product sold was not as described. Whatever words we come up with to describe it, those are the facts. The sad thing is this isn’t the first time in TSW’s history that a thread like this has appeared and it won’t be the last. We will not see the new suspension system before late Summer at the earliest, if I could put money on that I would.

 

Correct but it isnt a "Scam".... I never mentioned that its fair what DTG does here... For me in person its not fair that they try to fishing new customers with this believe and does not deliver what they announced.

Its not a case like a scam... They be not 100% honest and thats different than a scam... If they say here we bring this update but did not deliver it then you can write about a scam but they planned still to do so if its september and they bring TSW5 and never talk about it its different but with a valid excuse its neither a scam... They give an explanation for it

 

Whatever it is, it’s just so sad to be walking this same path yet again.

 

It could be labelled a scam, features that were promised for the launch to get people to part with their money but several months down the line those features aren't yet available with nothing to show they'll be released soon.

 

Don't promise what you can't deliver...
