I was doing a run on Sand Patch Grade today and was pleasantly surprised to see animated birds flying over me at the Shaw Mine branch. Do any other routes have them?
I happened to be at Preston Station at the time the lights come on as it got dark outside and they didn’t all just turn on at once, they turned on in a seemingly random staggered fashion, just like real fluorescent lights would. It’s just another thing that makes the station and the Blackpool Branches route a magical place to be in game.
I´ve spotted a few on WCL as well. And Yeah, really nice touch. That´s what the more recent routes are missing. And maybe that´s one of the reasons why they feel so steril.
The Intercity coaches that come with the Vectron can have the brake modes changed. Fun part you can try running Langer Lok G/P on IC coaches. Although you end up extending the trip time.
Thanks, that's interesting! In Australia on mountain grades such as the Blue Mountains in NSW, there are brakes modes for heavier braking for freight cars.
I've never really noticed before, but can we appreciate just how much more detail the characters have nowadays such as headphones, earphones, glasses etc - at least for some of the newest TSW routes which is superb for immersion:
Absolutely!!! It just gets better!! Everyone expects it to be PERECT from the get go. It gets better with age, like wine. I enjoy this game every time I play it. Mainly to practise driving as I am a real world driver and it offers the best physics. US freight is almost perfect!
With glasses, suitcases, phones, cups, hats, headphones, and the backpacks I still haven;t seen yet, the passengers are really good now!
It's certainly better than before! (TSW2) Also I'm sorry for spam, but it wouldn't let me edit the post with a picture.
I really like that detail at Cadera station, with a functional stop request signal. I hope one way it’ll be implemented, I know it’s hard at the moment but it’s a nice touch.
Was doing a run on Cathcart Circle Line, light clouds with dynamic weather turned on. After a few stops it began to rain pretty badly, and I suddenly heard the announcement voice at the next station warn to be careful because the platforms could be slippery due to the wet weather... Nice little detail to include such a message.
I noticed ages ago back on London to Brighton when it snowed, nice little detail I think it does it on all route I might be wrong though
This one is the winner. Really cool. now we just need Bigfoot and I bet he is hiding in the Niddertalbahn woodlands somewhere.
Is there any reference to the different brake modes? I saw the oil/fuel can wagons in the latest Salzburg route and saw they had the braking options similar to here I think. If on a steep grade...... you can select heavier braking.
The Pacer isn't my favourite but the authenticity is amazing. I enjoy driving the bumpy thing! haha What is used now in Blackpool? 158s?
I noticed there are pedestrians walking (nothing to do with rail) around the town in Cumberland which is rather nice. I think Preservation crew did a good job because when Sand Patch was first released it was pretty raw.
MSB has leaves falling from trees on one of the branch lines (can't remember the name) similar to LFR having leaves blowing around at stations.
I don't know if I'm going crazy, but I swear I hear the HVAC turning off and back on again when going over certain junctions on the new Goblin Line. I love immersive details like that!
Someone said recently (can't find where, I thought it was this thread but no) that you can go onto the beach on the West Cornwall route. I had a look yesterday at Penzance and the branch to St. Ives but couldn't find anything. Anyone help me here please?
I was running some peak hour service on Niddertalbahn and I was pleasantly surprised that even when two double-units are crossing, the stopping points for AI on farther track respect that the (player) train on closer track should not endanger the passengers crossing tracks while boarding. In all stations I encountered both trains could stand in a way that there is available track crossing for passengers, and that there is even no overlap between the trains, so both drivers have perfect view. The farther train also correctly departs first, and either arrives second or at least stands in part of platform not requiring me to drive over people rushing to it.
Found it. It involved a bit of trespass (hey it's my railway!) but I got to enjoy the leviathan (?) close up
Haha, glad that you found it. I didn't warn you because I wasn't sure if you had made the mastery and I just didn't want to spoil it. Rivet is the great villain in the moment (and rightly so) but justice should be made: They always come up with very creative scenario scripts and mastery rewards (Cathcard Circle is another one). Of course, that doesn't belong to a serious train simulator, but hell, you can switch it off if you don't like it.
Well, passenger coaches should remain in R unless there's a fault with the engine (which doesn't happen in TSW)
There is a whole thread - plus another with a link to a handy spreadsheet - which covers German brake settings and when to use what in exhaustive detail
On Niddertalbahn. Somebody at TSG sat down and created, and beautifully weathered - this custom asset almost nobody would even notice
