Can anyone tell me why the Steam locomotives are all facing the wrong way. When I start the route I have to drive in reverse.
I dont have that problem, but for me the class 47 grn does not show up in the new gala 2022 timetable selection screen. Why not? I am on series X. I have transpennine dlc and peak forrest dlc installed
The class 47 services in the new Steam timetable are part of the Winter Special that requires the West Cornwall Steam Railtour
Whilst there is a turntable at Minehead, it is largely for nothing more than demonstration purposes. In reality most locos will arrive in the platform at Minehead then just ‘run round” the train and attach onto the other end without being turned. Then will run in reverse back to the other end of the line. You can watch a real life example in the following video from 44 minutes onwards - (For clarity - not my video)
On the Great Central Railway there is a Turntable at Quorn but it's really only used to turn locos on days when nothing is running and the line is "closed". It's sometimes used during galas but very rare. So you'll have locos running tender first, it's very common.
You can drive "Set B" or "Set D" from the new timetable. Both involve the use of the turntable. I suggest you spawn 12:25 at Minehead, wait for the 8F to arrive at 12:27 and then take over the service. Continue in "Free Roam", the next service will start at 12:32 ......... Enough said, I don´t want to spoil the fun.
This isn’t strictly true, its only the case when only one or two steam locos are in traffic at opposite ends of the line and there is a timetable to adhere to. When a full compliment are in steam or at galas, locos get turned. The turntable doesn’t sit gathering dust and it isn’t just a demonstration piece.
