Not a problem as we'd pay the going rate for it, I'm pretty certain all UK based players would buy it and a goodly number from overseas too. It would be at least as successful as the 700 and 313 dlc's.
Like I said earlier it's probably one of the most highly demanded addons I've ever seen, 'Class 91' turns up somewhere in pretty much any thread where ECML is mentioned and has ever since the TSW4 reveal.
Well Matt just answered on the stream to a question : -Would you ever consider an Asia route ? -Just watch the stream on sunday....
Only way that's gonna happen is thru Union Workshop, DTG won't do unbranded trains and JR isn't gonna give DTG a license.
It was part of the survey if players preferred to have unbranded trains over no trains at all if there's no licenses. We'll see. Anyway there's not much to do on those uber high speed trains. Set target speed, full throttle, watch scenery.
Based on Union Workshops offerings in TSC. YEAH one says that TSCs licensing doesn't effect TSW, but it's a good measurement on what to and what not to expect. Unless something surprising happens like the Metrolink deal. Either way, I'm not expecting a miracle.
i saw post where someone said early trophy's got released and it was NYLI. so this upcoming US route is new york route, new york is very very popular area for TSW dlc. i think DTG might go the way of subway simulator for awhile. would be nice to see another Canadian route down the road but since OSD didn't do very well they might say away from Canada for while...
Agree. The best UW routes were their first one, the semi fictional Forest Rail, hen the Tokyo Commuter route. I was not that impressed with the Chinese high speed routes they did.
Union Workshop has only done routes from JR East and JR West. Remember that there are seven different JR companies, each with their own licensing policy.
Only cause DTG doesn't simulate everything that should factor into handling a US freight train. Or proper switching scenarios. Or better physics. Or just selling Mountain Passes over and over again...
OK here's my final predictions: -Goblin Line -Salzburg to Rosenheim -LIRR 2 -Class 104 -MP36 for Antelope Valley Line -Roadmapped Austrian Route -Rivet's UK route (possibly Scottish) -Cargo Line Vol 2 -The other US route on the roadmap -Possibly something from ATS and Union Workshop
I enjoy the cruise of high speed and it doesn’t have the same drag feeling as doing slower speeds for too long. The speed makes it engaging and fun, whereas slow often gives the feeling like driving the speed limits in something like GTA when you could full throttle it. personally I like a mix, high speed is top of my go to, too much high speed and I will go to slower, too much slower I will go to high-speed. The mix keeps the interest rather than making a game what is quite naturally repetitive more so. It’s the same with having a large collection, I don’t stick to one train constantly, the same with speed, operations, country, route etc GWE is one of the perfect examples of a route in this regard (minus shunting and steam) it covers High Speed, commuter and freight, all with a train for each.
I'm really looking forward to the GOBLIN, and I'd love it if they also made a Bakerloo Line timetable with the class 710, a short extension down to Kilburn High Road (so you can reverse Bakerloo Line trains) as well as access to all the fast WCML on the map so you can also run free roam. I can dream
If we get LIRR for the next US route, I predict the US route 6 months from now will be either the Hudson Line or New Haven Line, or perhaps they will arrive in 1-2 years
DTG usually doesn't go back to back with locations on US routes, so I don't expect those 2 to be the 6 month route.
I believe Alan made an open-ended stated that said the route would utilise existing stock in the game - there could be a potential for new stock, he hasn't ruled it out explicitly.
DTG probably has a good chunk of reference data of the Surfliner equipment, and probably long distance equipment when they visited the Amtrak yard in LA during the Metrolink trip, it would be insane if they didn't attempt a route using that reference in the next few years.
In relation to rivet from info seen in various places highland line with class 156 super sprinter a real possibility
Everyone's yabbering on about class91 and LNER HST, which would be nice. What about a Deltic MKII air con stock and MK1 buffet. Too much? Surely not. Hentis
Really? I imagine they're just as boring as the TGV and ICE. Shinkansen wouldn't really add anything refreshing to the series IMO.
I think a chinese highspeed line wouldn't be a big difference to other high speed we already have. They even have their interation of the ICE3 in china, so it's just going with 300 kph over rural places on high bridges and tunnels. Sure, it's oversimplified, but all in all i don't think High Speed lines are sooo different, just because it's a different country. I'd imagine (or at least hope) that this bespoken asian route is something rather slow to actually embrace the different landscape and nature as well as the different way to operate the train
Agreed. If we are to see a new country, any country, I hope it's a commuter route or anything that's not a dedicated high speed line. Way better way to enjoy the different scenery and architecture. But I guess I wouldn't mind a route with mixed traffic, such as Köln-Aachen, which also has high speed services.
Imo, routes that are like Dresden-Riesa are perfect! They have High Speed trains traveling longer distances without stopping Region trains with some stops travelling at faster speeds Regional trains with frequent stopping pattern Plenty of freight possibilities Shunting Different branches which allow more than A->B or B->A (negative example here would be HMA, though the S-Bahn gives some variety) A solid amount of scenery and individual assets etc. Now, if all routes would be like that, that would be perfect. I see a lot of potential with Rosenheim-Salzburg as the timetable will probably be very varied and has potential for a freight loco DLC or even a Railjet DLC. It probably has no branch lines, but that's fine if the alpine scenery and timetable is well done imo.
There are branch lines ! The Chiemgau Railway which is 10 kilometers long and uses the 628 in red (Hmmm who made the 628 in red recently wink wink)
Deltic railtour with MK2D+ coaches? Please... this game is in dire need of the later shape MK2s. You just know that JT would have used them everywhere on Blackpool had they existed.
Speculating about what we realisticly could get in the future has once again devolved in to random "I want this, I want that" talk.
These two are very good shouts that I forgot to add - agree with both of them. (Also kudos for understanding the brief)
To York too right? Doncaster to York with the Leeds branch would then allow York to Newcastle, Newcastle to Edinburgh, Peterborough to Kings Cross. So the whole ECML split into 5 sections, with ideally some kind of merge.
