Hello I been playing this game for about over a year now and I’m a sucker for American routes, as I am American myself. My favorite Loco in the game is the Acs-64. And soon after playing with the Acs and Amfleet cars till the I can’t no more, I realized, how come we only have access to the amfleet coach class cars? I also realized we have the formation of the amtrak services, like the Silver Meteor, Northeast regional, Vermonter, etc but they’re all display as amfleet cars? Don’t know if it’s reason why or not, but I’ve just grown curious.
Making carriages/cars takes time, they have mostly or only came with trains so far. Acela has its own cars and the ACS-64 is the only other Amtrak in TSW. I’m pretty sure the ACS-64 has first and standard class equivalent coaches + restaurant, along with the cab car, that’s a fair/above average amount compared to the usual amount with each train.
I would love more Amtrak equipment in the game, but I have the impression from DTG that it is very difficult to get accurate reference material for North American content. This might be one of the reasons that the game haven't gotten more yet. On the other hand DTG still haven't reintroduced the SW1000R from the original NEC route that wasn't ported over to TSW2. That might be possible since they brought the cab car over in NY-Trenton.
They can get reference material but one of the questions would be if it makes sense to make it from the development and financial standpoint. For example, matt explained a genesis and superliners still hasn't happened because it's a brand new loco, has multiple different passenger coaches needed to be modeled which ends up using a lot of resources and dev time. It also runs just 2 services a day on a single freight line. If you want more services, you have to spend another $30-40 to buy another dlc. Of course formation designer or free roam can be used but it's still a low cost to gameplay ratio
The Genesis loco (AKA the P40DC/P42DC) has been around since the EARLY 1990s! It is NOT a new loco. You are confusing it with the Siemens Chargers.
