I wonder if it'll have the Haymarket depot seats or the Inverness TMD seats. They have slightly different seats depending on which of the two depots the 158's were refurbed at.
Also the sounds on the 150 and the 385 which they still haven't sorted that makes me a bit sceptical about the sound on the 170
Please keep football opinions outa this. Not all of us hear watch football/support the team. And it's not exactly nice to the folk that do. I get the culture and all. But leave it off the forums please.
Its not the fact there are bugs its the fact Rivet have noted these bugs and done absolutely nothing about it. They gave themselves this track record, we didnt.
The 158 shown appears to be a screenshot from Livery Designer, rather than the raw model. I think it's quite possible that the route/SR 158 are just in very early development with nothing worth showing. [Matt also seemed to trip on his own words a bit at that point - i don't think he's confirmed the 158 as a loco DLC, which would be weird anyway.] Edit: nevermind.
I live in the United States. We call it soccer over here. I hope I don't start a debate on what to call soccer/football
It was a joke at the expense of a club who happen to play football alongside the railway. Nobody is harmed. Just scroll away from it.
Please keep such nonsense out of this thread. This forum is about trains, not stupid football fights.
Anyway, moving on: Do we think there's any chance Rivet may surprise us with the (so far unopened) Levenmouth Rail Link? Short enough spur, using the same trains, on the same line. Certainly, it would be interesting having a future railway in the game. [BCC technically had this with University station, but that hardly counts]
I think its gonna be its own livery DLC. If they do alter the plough they are probably gonna add a couple quid onto it aswell
What's this? A new route that comes with a CL170 and a CL158? That runs in a loop through a part of the country where everyone wants to live. Not only that but it gives us an opportunity to see Azumas, HSTs and large busy stations too. Finally it can layer into the ECML giving us all the route expansion potential that we really wanted to see. Well done Rivet for making the Harrogate loop.........................................Oh
It finally happened !!!. The bridges will look stunning in the Unreal Engine. I hope they get the night lighting accurate too on the Forth Rail Bridge. It looks spectacular at night.
Happy to see Fife Circle, though honestly did not expect Rivet Games to undertake this, especially alone. Hopefully it will include the upcoming Levenmouth Rail Link (a two stop, 5 mile branch from Thornton Junction) to differentiate it more from the TSC equivalent. A big project already but comparatively adding that branch seems like a small(ish) ask for a lot of potential benefit. The sounds and physics need to feel right with this one - the Class 170 is such an iconic and useful unit to have in-game now, and its application could be put to good use on many future routes and some existing ones. Please get it right from the get-go! Shame about the Class 158 being a loco DLC, really this route should have a second train type out-of-the-box but if that's a 3rd party thing not allowing another company to use their content in a base package then so be it. At least offer a bundle discount if buying both. Layering as well - obviously the Class 385 can layer in around Edinburgh but I hope the Class 801 can be included too, plus services with the recent Engineering Express pack contents. Ideally layers from Fife Circle should be added back into Edinburgh to Glasgow as well, but that would really be a lucky bonus at this point. Looking forward to some WIP screenshots further down the line!
The argument that just because the 385 is drivable does not excuse the issues with the train though. Just because any game that is riddled with issues is playable doesn't excuse those issues or inaction from the developers. There is a reason why games get rightly criticized and have poor reviews even if they are playable. Rivet's poor reputation is self inflicted.
Lmfao! XD That's funny. But nah, you get something better than the Harrogate loop! We have the forth bridge!!! Plus, saltire livery is better imo.
So ScotRail now have more routes and multiple units than any other UK operator in TSW4. Remarkable. It’s a Scottish take over.
If Rivet can make a decent job of replicating the Forth Bridge, then why could they not make a decent job of replicating St. Ives, Truro, Penzance and other towns in WCL? Berninalinie was an improvement in their work, fingers crossed they do a worthwhile job.
Crikey. I'd completely forgotten about the Forth Bridge. You'd think it was big enough for me to remember wouldn't you
Pleased to hear that the Class 170 is on its way to Train Sim World. It and the Scotrail Class 158 will hopefully be added as layers to the Edinburgh - Glasgow route to make it more busier.
Does anyone think the 170 and 158 will layer onto Edinburgh to Glasgow that would be great if they did make the route much better with different varieties
So it will also be nice to see Edinburgh Waverly being more populated now. Doubtful but I wonder if Rivet will also add the Main Entrance into to the station as it’s just non existant for some reason. Those never ending steps don’t half give you a workout !!. Especially if you’re running late for your train.
There is a lot of layering/merging opportunities coming out of this roadmap. Whether they all get taken advantage of or not will be very interesting. The new trains from FCL could be put on the E-G route, the 170 could be re-liveried to many other operators and layered into lots of stuff. Even Glasgow Central could have some AI activity. Also Fife Circle and E-G share a station in Waverley, while the new Metrolink route meets two existing routes at the end. The slide even mentioned them so merging opportunities there. I thought it was an interesting disclaimer that you have to buy them separately, it is the sort of disclaimer a route merger would have...
Really looking forward to this. Will also be great if they can go and make a new service mode timetable for Edinburgh - Glasgow using the 170,158 as well
It's about Bloody time we got a member of the Turbostar family the Class 170, Rivet has my full attention on this route. Personally I'll only be buying this one for the 170, but this route has a lot of potential. Don't let it go to waste Rivet games. Why do I have feelings a backdated ETG might be on the horizon soon though....
158s and 170s go to Anniesland and to croy, probably some driveable services from waymarked and eastfield depots as well, maybe some 170 stand-in scenarios as well, 158 may layer to Cathcart circle for edinburgh services and maybe some depot moves, as well as the 170 appearing as static at shields depot occasionally
Sorry should have made it clearer. I were referring to the likely hood of it actually happening in TSW, not whether they did of didn't run there in real life.
agreed. This is one route they just can’t mess up. I think and hope this time they will do a great job.
Not really as BOTH units used to run the Edinburgh - Glasgow. Some formations even have 170s coupled up to 158s and ran a service
Cathcart is set circa 2014, and back then 158s ran glasgow central to edinburgh services before it was electrified
Used to be 156s not 158s I used to use the line as my ex partner at the time lived in addiewell and used to get the Glasgow - Edinburgh via shotts and was a 156
Did 158s not run it occasionally? I always remembered seeing them in glasgow before the line was electrified
