Yep and you actually could do a london commuter part 2 when cowlairs tunnel (tunnel at QS) was getting re done 170s used central between 2014 and 2017 at split periods so you could actually layer them
Are we able to clarify exactly where the route goes? It says Edinburgh to Markinch via Dunfermline/Kirkcaldy so are we going to Glenrothes with Thornton or Markinch as Fife Circle services tend to run to the former as far as I am aware or has that changed ?
As this is a Rivet route, I absolutely refuse to get my hopes up or to get excited in any way until I see what other players are saying about it. Rivet have a very poor track record of fixing their mistakes so we’ll see.
Fife Circle services run to Glenrothes, yes. Markinch will just serve as a more 'natural' end for the Dundee/Aberdeen services than Kirkcaldy, i'd imagine.
What patches? I haven’t seen anything that addresses many of the complaints on WCL or Edinburgh to Glasgow.
Best part is... I think this will appease to a someone who's claims Rivet "Lost a customer in him" but fr I'll say this again imma keep my expectations low on this one Rivet games will mess something up ik they will
The route goes to Markinch with the Glenrothes with Thornton and Perth services going via Cowdenbeath and Aberdeen and Dundee services via Burntisland
The section along the coast between aberdour & kinghorn is stunning. Hope the scenery is done well as should be able to see across to Edinburgh and East Lothian.
I'm of course biased, but delighted to see more Scotrail content coming to TSW. When they mentioned Circle on the livestream I thought we were about to get the Cathcart update and extension I'd been hoping for on my ultra-specific and niche wishlist but honestly this is a far more exciting and ambitious project. The above map of the Fife Circle, along with its potential to layer onto existing content is extremely exciting. Outside of more steam content (I'll continue to hope for my Jinty loco) this is probably going to be THE route for me in 2024. Can't wait to see more. That bridge crossing has so much potential to be stunning.
Fair dos to Rivet for doing the full circle. I think I'll certainly be keeping one ear and one eye open for this route and see how things shape out.
Regarding Service patterns, here's a nice graphical summary: [Patterns sourced from 'Fife Circle Line' on Wikipedia.]
It would transform it, so uninspiring just to know what every other train is going to be. This is my wish for all the routes in TSW4 - max layering where possible. ECML next; Lumo, Grand Central Adelente's and LNER Class 91's. Lets make it the significant, historic and famous line that it really is.
quick google does wonders https://forums.dovetailgames.com/th...h-edinburgh-glasgow-post-release-patch.65698/
or the others who will buy a route make a video upload it then refund it if they dont like the route yet still take in views and clicks from youtube from a product they refunded because they didnt like it.
This ought to be a great route however I'm concerned about Rivet doing the 170. Their trains are always the weakest link in their products and the 170s are absolutely a train I want to see done right. At the very least we'll have the 158 to fall back on. Will the 170 get much of a chance to stretch it's legs on this line? I haven't been on the main line from Edinburgh to Dundee since about 2016 so I can't remember what the linespeed is like on the section we're getting.
That was almost a year ago and still hasn’t addressed a lot of the issues we complained about initially.
For starters I assume you don't use route route particularly late at night. Saying as those services don't exist in TSW and have been noted.
I'm going to be VERY nitpicky on the sounds if they're not done right. I work on these trains so know exactly how they sound.
That was a patch that came out in March last year. There hasn't been anything else major that addresses the issues that plague the route since
There is nothing wrong with doing that. Many people do that all the time with a product they don't like. That is not immoral at all
Getting money from reviewing a product that people worked hard to create - without paying for it - is immoral, yes.
By that login then, no reviews should exist in anything. That literally makes no sense and I don't see why you would have a problem with that as it is quite common
