Not quite sure if I am the only one with this problem. When setting up a formation it always shows the weight to be 0t. Also the incline status is always red. When I try it out in the game everything is displayed as expected, though...
Although I've only made 2 formations so far, but both of them have weights. (Only used the 1 wagon type though so far so I'll let you know how I get on when I am more adventurous). The issue for me, at the moment, is that the formation list only refers to the model and doesn't tell you what the actual livery is. (Mind you, when you think about it, that is how the main game works too).
Have found a couple of videos, where it seems to work, as well. So far I have not seen this problem anywhere else. Will launch a ticket…
Dont think so. Just made a formation with some stuff I know has weights from YT videos: I have also tried removing all custom mods without change. One general question, though. I have not submitted a ticket yet. Wasnt quite sure how you are handling open beta: only through here or also through tickets?!
It looks like this might be vehicle specific. Below are two screenshots of a CL31 & Mk1s formation. The first one has correct stats and plays in-game fine. (See 3rd screenshot). The second doesn't work at all and, also, now shows a weight of 0T. The only difference between the two is that the rear carriage has been swapped from a BSO to a BG. (Also, a funny artifact appears inside the TSO if it is coupled to the BG???). This wouldn't be brakes related would it?
Interesting. For me, I have not seen any weight, ever... I have also tried setting up a formation just with a single BR193. Again, same result, no weight.
Oh dear. You're not going to like this. In the end curiosity got the better of me. So I recreated your 'interesting' formation. Now I'm sure that the first time I built this formation I got the same result as you. (But I didn't screenshot it). After this I deleted the Vectron from the formation and everything turned green. So I thought the Vectron was the problem. Then I swapped the 363 for the Vectron and everything stayed green. Finally I rebuilt the full formation and, once again, everything was green. So I thought I would test it in game and, guess what, it worked !!! However I then thought I would exit the game and reload the scenario and, at that point for the first time ever, I got the "lack of memory" message. Further investigation in Scenario Editor showed that the player train had vanished. When I put it back in again everything was right again. So I don't really know what to suggest other than to try and create the formation one vehicle at a time swapping vehicles in and out to see what happens.
Yes, nice formation, isn’t it But what it sounds like to me is that it could have something to do with memory, yes. If my setup is missing one thing it certainly is memory. I tried to recreate your steps. Funnily I did not encounter an out of memory message this time, however, I saw it previously once on NID while I was trying to spawn a 642. Nevertheless, I never saw another weight then 0 again..
Some more interesting moments. I had a CL66 container formation (FKAs) headed up with a EWS locomotive. This formation worked fine (everything was green). I then swapped the livery, not the model, for a Freightliner version and everything turned red (OT weight). See below. I then went in to the Formation, pressed the stats key and then noticed that everything went green (see below). Finally I went back to the main screen again from the "Back" button on the main screen and everything seemed OK. Note that these 3 screenshots were taken seconds apart and that no files were actually changed. Yet image 1 and image 3 are different to each other??? Most odd. I also had another formation today (CL33, a mix of Mk1 and Mk2 coaches) that worked OK until I stuck a CL47 on the back. Then that failed. However by going back in again and replacing the CL47 with itself once again made everything go green. So something isn't quite right here. Am now going to test all of these 'new' formations in a scenario. Let's see what happens.
I tried your flipping of loco trick, with my very first formation and, for the very time ever, I do see a weight I have turned it back afterwards and it still seems to work, it still shows the weight.
I have definitely now had a number of instances where a formation 'fails' the very first time you create it. However, if you then press edit and, basically, "turn it on and off again" then something clicks into place and everything turns green. Here's two formations, that both 'failed' initially, passing each other on the ECML.
