    Hi together,

I would really like to have a route through Germany from Munich to Berlin via Nürnberg, Erfurt, Halle(Saale) with the ICE 3 neo.

    Best regards,

    Thomas

600km is a big ask for a TSW route.

Creating a route is extremely complicated.

People underestimate how much work it is to just get a few kilometers done the right way.

Even if you just do it for 30 kilometers, the amount of work and time for preparing the landscape, laying track, create scenery and vegetation, place signals, create a timetable, check if it all works, is enourmous.

So unfortunately creating a long distance route like that will never happen because with the current Tools we have available only, it would take too much time and doesn’t make any economic sense.

That's a massive route, as amazing as it sounds it would probably at best take maybe close to a year to complete with a constant community contribution to it. I don't think many people would even drive for that long frankly, they'd probably quit somewhere along the line after reaching maybe 1 or 2 hours.

Okay that's a bit ambitious, in terms of how long UK routes are, I'd say Hanover to Berlin is a fair distance.

Thanks for your explanations. I didn’t thought about that enormous effort, so maybe even a part of that route would be nice including Berlin. So Halle (Saale) to Berlin central station would be possible? :)

ooor, Munchen - Nurnberg... thats literally in the name of the fastest regional express - either a Vectron with ETCS and a trainset, or BR102 aka Skoda Emil Zatopek boosted plus special dostos vmax 190 km/h, and everything from 300 km/h highspeed runs to regional services... long but doable (I believe someone is trying hard to do Nurnberg - Ingolstadt in the editor) :)

I don't think DTG likes the Idea of building Berlin let-alone Berlin's Main Station.:( But let's wait and see. I think Berlin-Halle(Saale) is a great Route idea passing by Lutherstadt Wittenberg.:)

DTG in general doesnt like doing big stations, as it is not only time consuming, but it also kills the performance oftentimes... but... once they find a way how to do them, intercity (and in turn all kind of services) fans will rejoice :)

Well, i wouldn't say Cologne, Munich, Hamburg, Bremen, Essen, Hagen, Dresden, Chemnitz or Duisburg are... small stations :D

Kinda always wondered if they would do Berlin Leipzig, I think that route was in TS, extra great if they ever extended Riesa to Leipzig but I’m probably going to far with that.
