The route looks fantastic, I'm looking forward to a preview stream :)

One question for DTG - What are the layers for freight as I can't drive the 185 (accessibility issue)?

Article says preorder is on the 20th. There's a mismatch in the article and what is written outside the article

4th generation is what TSW offers. 5th gen is for the new loco driven IC2s (Twindexx Vario) and 3rd gen is uhh. something old

Whatever the merits of the route, this looks pretty much like every other German electric red box I already own.

    What's with the puny headlights?

Essentially it is the same core thing.

The 111 will be a bit different though, it’s a tap changer loco with a more (less) conventional control design.

It’s also 50+ miles long so makes a change from the usual 30mile German lines we seem to always get.

What's makes it even more unfortunate is that the 4 Gen Low levels Dostos were prototypical and prominent back in 2013, and high level Dostos on this route would be unrealistic, but what about the X-Wagen coaches that ran on this route.. where are those?

I don't understand this kind of criticsm. In my view it's not a valid argument, because having a different kind of Dostos woulb be wrong. Can't fight reality.

Wow, I never thought Salzburg-Rosenheim would be released that soon. Alex said it's likely to be the next release but that it's going to be announced a few days after the streams is fast.

One thing I'm waiting for with the preview stream is how the actual scenery on the country looks like.

The footage we currently got available shows a lot of the stations and cities only.

    The cab pic looks amazing.

I have to admit that I am a bit disappointed that the nWagen have not found its way into the timetable (as far as we know). They have been a very common sight down there, parallel to the Dostos. Even the Karlsruher Kopf could be seen…

Could it be possible to tune the volume of the outside Dosto sounds down? In all iterations they are far too loud in comparison to their actual RL noise.
20% of the current volume should be enough...
I know that a sound remaster is out of dev time but this would be very nice.
Apart from this - looking forward to further details and timetable layers... an Austrian route without a Taurus is still astonishing.

Which is correct, there were runing Dostos with low doors...

So, why should someone critizise DTG for using the right rolling stock?

maybe 35-40% would do it. also the braking sounds never matched the IRL ones which is a much louder and deeper squeaking.

and about your last line... this is mostly a german route, and as already said the 1116 from Semmeringbahn will layer onto there when that route releases

The door closing sounds are also a bit off but yeah... I don't think there will be any resources allocated to that, so at least some volume fiddling would be nice.

Yeah, but cross-border express traffic is and was quite frequent there and very often hauled by Taurus... although I remember seeing some rare things like 1st class ÖBB coaches or 101s with cab cars but here we are at the dev time again :)
In Bavaria you there's a saying 'jo mei' ;)

Very much looking forward to our next German vintage loco - the Br 111. That alone is reason enough for me to get this route :)

    I'll get it ASAP!

In which year is it set? As Salzburg Liefering seems to be under construction, it has to be before December 2013...

I am so pleased we are getting part of Austria in the game again. I buy RSSLO routes for TSC which are stunning, so really looking forward to seeing this cross country route for TSW. From the preview pictures it looks absolutely gorgeous.

I'm starting to have a bad feeling about this route I'm not gonna hold you. The fact this was originally in the 4-6 months category on the roadmap in December, but then it jumped to being released on February 27th is extremely suspicious to me

We were told that the low and high entry dostos are identical. Then Matt fell down in between the platform and the door during the preview stream when going inside one of them.

In DTG´s opinion, these are all red 2 floor coaches with no difference between them.

I would say it looks mediocre. Same trees, same trains....
Since the first TSW they are still using these awful trees that ruin all the landscapes, when will they understand that they have to use other tree assets ???

Will the Chiemsee-Bahn actually be visible in Prien (on Lake Chiemsee)? This runs from the train station there to the lake pier.

The DB route is on the right, you can easily see the masts.

Does it look better than older routes (MSB comes to mind)? Yes.
Better than some TSW4 routes? Yes.
Is this route going to be worth it? Maybe... depends on the preview stream and supported layers.

I believe the 185 and 4024 are included (as well as the 110). Asked Lukas around substitution, and freight will sub in as usual for AI.

I believe it is that service from Wien Hbf via St.Polten and Salzburg all the way to Dortmund or Dusseldorf, forgot which :) I actually took it once just to experience highspeed train, from Wien Hbf to St. Polten Hbf... I believe OBB has purchased like 4 or 5 ICE-T sets from DB, but they run it jointly (which means your Wien Kernzone ticket will do you no good even between Hbf and Meidling, since this is part DB) :)
