And again the same Dostos, where nothing changed, very Disappointing.

Yes its true on the line ran, low entry Dostos 03/ 4th Generation, but in diffrent configuration.
The Dostos had "München-Salzburg-Express" Lettering under the DB Regio Logo. Also they had no openable Window.
And the Dostos had other seats (like the Desiro, in 2nd class), no PIS-Monitor, only LED-Strips.

My Comment is based on the WIP Photos and Videos so if the Dostos are correct in the Relase my Comment gets delete or corrected

not Salzburg to Rosenheim but still at Salzburg. additional AI traffic there wouldn't hurt, eh?

So I have to say that this really looks awesome- can’t wait! But as others have said: The possibility to have a few consists of 111, n-Wagen coaches and 111 (sandwich) would have been amazing!
I also habe to say that I hope the Vectron thing will be the same as on BRO: You can select it but it won’t sub in. I just think it’s an amazing loco and it would be a shame to not be able to use it, although it’s not realistic for the time being..

That might be as much down to release cadence as anything, the New York route got held up by licensing issues so this one got brought forward, Goblin was always due after New York and presumably wasn't ready for an earlier than planned release whereas this one, hopefully, was.

The roadmap can change any time. Things move around all the time. Doesn't mean that it'll be a rushed mess or anything. Don't get too far into it

I'm not 100% sure but ICE in Salzburg in very rare situations .... The thing is you have some years they drive via Zell am See and Schwarzach St. Feit to Salzburg from Wörgl but of this is the case in the route year i have no clue.... Its possible but they changed in different years.... Sometime the OBB drive this services other years the DB with ICE-T and the start and end point are also diffrent... I'm talking about ICE Grossglockner

I know it isnt 100% this topic, but do we know if LIRR 2.0 will be free or at least discounted for those who own the old route? :)

It’s an interesting one because both Sand Patch & SEHS were included with a launch bundle & not a DLC. LIRR 2.0 will be the first time we see pricing for this sort of content.

I’m still undecided about this route. I really like the Salzburg area, so I will probably enjoy it. But I dislike driving tap changer locomotives, so I’m not sure I’m going to get much play out of this. I guess it will depend on layers.

Also still annoyed at the quality of Maintalbahn which even after fixes, I still think was a poor release.

Think I’m going to give the preorder discount a miss and wait for opinions. It’ll probably get added to a bundle soon enough which is roughly the same as the preorder discount anyway.

We don’t yet know if LIRR 2.0 is a remaster of what we have now, a new section of the LIRR or a combination of both. Depending what it turns out to be will likely dictate pricing policy for the DLC.

It’s a bit worrying they don’t have license clearance yet. If they fail to get it, whatever they’ve done will be a complete waste of time and money.

I hope they will do it... if it looks decent I might even be willing to pay a bit for it, since I love the original LIRR release and play it a lot :)

Good point! We stay at the Chiemsee very often, I’ve even been awaken by the whistle of the steam train a few times when we slept in the Prien Harbor. I’m not requesting a recreation of the train or the route it takes (although that would be an incredible Easter egg)… I just hope the scenery surrounding the Chiemsee lake will be good enough!

This route together with the Goblin. were both in the December roadmap as next route teasers as next releases and possibly were very near finished, so not suspicious to me. For a price of £29.99 I am hopeful it will be very good.

Trenton was also an extension/expansion of an existing route, granted it was a route you could only play on TSW1.

I feel like the licensing issue can't be for the whole route and must be for a specific part of it or a specific rolling stock. I don't think they'd risk making a whole route that they can't release, but they may be working on a train or something that they can pull if they don't get the right licence, and they don't want to announce anything until they know for sure.

ehhh not really, it only really shared the terminus & a little bit of New Jersey, with one end chopped off & the freight areas removed. I do sort of agree but the scale of NEC in TSW 3 was so much bigger than TSW 1, it’s more of a demo to full release situation.

It’s certainly not comparable to SEHS & whatever LIRR will be.

...of course there are not only 4th Gen DoStos (except in TSW). The variants shown in your pictures belong to the 2nd generation (and a brand new Škoda set), which were modernized in the early 90s. For these older train sets, the 2nd Gen control cars received a completely redesigned driver's cab that already looked like 4th Gen, but new control cars were also built in a 3rd Gen look. Nowadays, almost all of these are now decommissioned because they have been replaced by 4th Gen wagons or by new trains from private railway providers. The 3rd Gen DoStos (with the high doors) are still in use because they already had built-in air conditioning. While in the only modernized 2nd Gen you worked up a sweat in the summer. So you can only use older DoStos on routes in the past, the 90s or 2000s would be most suitable. In addition, modernized DoStos were mainly only used in the East German route network or the Berlin area, as BWs in the west or south only received 3rd or 4th Gen DoStos. In other words, they wouldn't fit on a Bavarian route.

One word: Excited! It's been quite a long time since I've looked forward to a TSW route this much - also excited for Semmeringbahn too.

Absolutely agree with you. I don't understand when some moan about recycled content; what would they prefer, an empty timetable with one-loco? I'd certainly prefer a route like this which has a busy timetable with as much playable/AI traffic and long-term gameplay which also uses as many existing TSW locos.

Much agreed as it would provide a lot of great gameplay.

I think a route from Madrid to Vienna going through Paris, Amsterdam, Frankfurt and Munich would be a great choice though! :D

The sneak peak they showed off still has the same exact sounds. If they didn't change dosto sounds before, it is unlikely to change for this dlc. If it's good enough, it'll stay that way most of the time

Thats the whole point... The 111 has in the video also wrong sounds but they update this already in the newer builds... They used a testing sound with full source from the 110! But now the loco has a mixed sound set with 111 sound and 110 ones!

And the sound are really bad for the Dostos!

And where in the video you have seen any sounds from the dosto? There is no shot at all

DTG Alex Did you have any information about the Dostos?

I think changing the Dosto sounds now is a bad idea because then there will be inconsistencies with the older ones keeping their old sounds. it's like with the Taurus. older Tauri (DB from RT and MRCE from HBK) have the old sounds while the currently newest which is the Dispotaurus ;) has the new sounds, which is also sad

No that makes no sense... That you have older ones that so bad is no excuse to let them the same.... The Dosto are the worst ones in the game after the 187 fail...

Let me be clear i'm talking about the cab sounds..... At the outside is no things needed indeed

If by X-Wagen you mean the old DB m-Wagen (UIC X), those were retired years and years ago, except for the ones rebuilt for the Interregio (and almost all of those are gone now too)

solicitr, x-Wagen are another thing in Germany (unfortunately link to German Wikipedia only since there’s no English article). What they have to do with Salzburg - Rosenheim though, I don’t know.

Oh, those would be the old Rhein-Ruhr S-Bahn coaches. Yes, I figured not relevant to Austria.

But they have built Munich - Rosenheim for TSC earlier, so in theory it might not be a difficult task for them to build it again for TSW.

But because they are familiar with the route, it should not be that difficult to build it again in another sim...

    I don’t know. I may be wrong.

just going to have to wait to see how good the route is before buying it, so far the terminal station looks not too bad, but they have to get the going out of terminal landscape right where there is many building as you can see from the video i put it on the top

Will probably think about it on sale if it's confirmed the 111 hasn't just been aliased to the 110 for physics and sound or even worse the 103 ruined by the over loud and constant fan sound.

And Dosto's, yuck. Up to 50% of your driving being done from a near silent cab car.

Maybe Jan forgot to mention it in the announcement article and nothing against a Alex and Matt only show, but I wonder why Lukas isn't with the stream this time. He as main developer of the route (I guess) should be with it (just like it was the case every last time a german route have been previewed).

I mean he probably knows best about the specific spots and conditions of the route.

Im gonna wait to see how the timetable looks for other rolling stock on this one.

Completely agree with you RE the 111/110/103 sounds. Never been impressed by the latter 2.

The Dostos are always a write off for me too, so many services I’ve avoided doing due to the way half of them are always dosto lead’s. The N Wagen cab car was quite refreshing & it’s the first time in TSW I haven’t minded driving a cab car.
