Indeed. I like TSC and there are routes and trains the like of which we will probably never see in TSW. But try running the JT Met Line, the NZ Midland Line or any other route packed with assets or trains which use complex scripting. It can be quite a lottery whether or not you just end up with things freezing and/or a CTD.

Agree! The turkish route "Taurus mountains" by AND Model was a great route in TSC. Since DTG published their route, they have contacts to DTG. Who knows? We might be in for a turkish TSW route in future. Would be lovely!

There might be a small difference, as the system on Wakayama Line does not show the speed limit curve like the one on Tadami Line does, but for the most part it should be the same. Bing bongs wise it definitely works the same way.

  4. Thanks! Yes those bing bongs I never heard before even in Japan (I could be wrong...might have heard them and then forgot!). I will check the Konan Railway as I went on that.

Here...no bing bongs, but it's a private railway.

Concrete sleepers for the most part but due passenger levels I think the track maintenance is done to 'minimum' levels, so a lot of rolling!

If UW put this in (Hirosaki to Konan) and had a main line to Aomori, it would be good.

I hope the Odakyu line comes though as that is busy and has frequent stops. Would be ultra enjoyable.

I am not sure about Konan Railway, but here is a video of the bingbongs going off on another railway. You can hear them right from the beginning.

I love the rumbling effect on this train, this is what the next upcoming Japanese route should sound like?

  7. Konan is Overhead wires, Tadami line is diesel.

Seems like it goes off when a red signal is close.

Sorry for the ignorance, but is there somewhere I can read up more on this line and it coming to TSW? I quit playing TSW months ago but a Japanese line will definitely bring me back.

No, there isn't really more info than the Line itself with it's starting and end points as well as some screenshots.

Very early in development so no new information than the actual destinations and a post on uw's social media page that they are looking for reference material for a particular rolling stock that was in the tsc version of the route

Awesome, thanks everyone. I'm super-excited to see this is happening, even better to see it's officially on a roadmap, Watched a YouTube cab vid and now I'm even more hyped.

Still all Japanese train have the rickety clickely clack and rumbling on their train

  15. No, because all modern railways including those in rural Japan have welded rail.

It was 40 years ago that rail was not welded.

To build up the hype for others, here's a nice one, however on a different DMU (ride on the included part of the route starts from around 01:22:00):

It depends. Smaller railways and rural lines with less modernization may still have old track, just like in the Konan Railway video you posted.

Sometimes the pretty modern lines in the heart of Tokyo (Yamanote, Tohoku, etc.) will still have short segments of unwelded track. I'm not sure why, but you can still hear them in a few curves.

  18. Wow Dino you must get around. I know as an experienced operator the tracks are not welded at points.

  19. Might be for busy lines where they cannot hold services. Tokyo is so busy that they cannot afford heat restrictions etc.
So having a few pieces of unwelded track might solve that problem, because it can get as hot as Australia in Tokyo!

Sadly no, all my experience is from cab ride videos and simulators, lol.

But here is a good example video of the Yamanote Line. Right after the video starts, you can hear the jointed track in the first curve, then as the track straightens, it goes smooth and quiet. Then for example again after 6:30, as the train approaches the station, the curve is once again regular jointed track. You can even see the joint pieces on the side of the rails.

Just as you said, they probalby have a reason for it, whatever it might be.

not to prove you wrong but i heard the rumbling on the track in orb video. That's basically what i am talking about also when going over the bridge.

First French route was also the last.

Just hoping the First Japanese and Dutch routes don't go the same way.
