As titled, a bit of feedback on the new scoring system, it seems to have broken once achievable medals particularly the Platinum now being unachievable. Edit: I don’t mean to have overly negative feedback on this but it’s just a quite annoying that the only change to this is either I have to stop using any service what would grant platinum (TSW4 Routes) and see if any changes happen or need to redo them services specifically again if any changes happen when if the old system was left there would be no issue with this.
I'm all about the gold, I'm old school, platinum is just a bonus in my quest to have more gold than Fort Knox.......
I’m all for the top tier they just seem to have made a few strange changes lately what seem more like creating problems that fixing tbh
No disrespect to you but is it a case of you aren't driving well enough, or the maximum points able to be earnt on a run isn't high enough. I couldn't care less about the medals myself so haven't noticed any issue/difference personally.
don’t believe it could be, judging by what I missed (displayed at the end) I couldn’t have achieved the thresholds, they have cut scoring down by around 50% (62 to 35 I think it is & 31 to 15 for speeding) for general driving and general stops by about 50% aswell (about 240 down from 500) (basically if your score wasn’t double what platinum was worth before then you won’t achieve it now) and not changed the medals as far as I can tell. All services I get top score first try around 99% of the time, it’s a very rare case it’s on my own accord how I couldn’t have achieved them, I must have done about 1000 and maybe missed by my accord probably about a max of 5 times. Saying I have about 1000 services done I remember my Silver and Bronze only stand at about 16 each (mostly if not all from unachievable ones) and the rest are top score.
ive gotten points taken off for driving way above the speed limit for a brief wheel spin ..also been docked points for driving 5.1 in 5 mph zone etc anyone else think that thats too much to be penalized for going point something over the speed even going 1 or 2 mph over speed cant do the classic making up the time if your train is running late you go a bit over the speed ( or maybe a lot) to get back to or near schedule ..but usually after i get medal then i play my way if im getting behind schedule i run a bit faster
Hello - can I ask if you have any specific services which aren't unlocking the platinum medal? In our latest core update, we should have implemented changes to a range of services that should hopefully make achieving platinum medals more consistent and accurate to the required 90% maximum possible score threshold. We did have a few outliers we've listed that we know aren't yet resolved, but I also want to check that these fixes are working as intended, so any examples that you can provide will go a long way for our teams to check and test. Hi Alex, few examples I have found Antelope Valley Line Metrolink CMF to LA Union at 15:15 Blackpool Branches 0Z04 at 16:00 the antelope valley is close but the other is about 600 off, with finding them 2 in a row I figured it may be part of bigger issue but I haven’t had a chance to play many other services lately to check that out more
I’ve just tested the Blackpool Branches service you highlighted. I achieved Platinum medal easily. I don’t mean easily skill wise, I mean I exceeded the required score by 600 points. Are you aware that Platinum medals were broken upon initial launch of TSW4, and they have recently been fixed? Platinum medals were introduced as a way of rewarding players who choose to play the game at a higher level. I noticed in one of your previous replies you said they have cut down scoring. This is not the case. Previously when the scoring was broken you were receiving score for having the safety systems on when they were actually off. Now that it is fixed, you will no longer be able to achieve the platinum score threshold unless you turn on the locos safety systems.
Off topic, but is there any chance platinum medal support will be added to legacy routes? TSW3 routes preferably.
can confirm they were all on, and general scoring has reduced as that was what the update changed, unless the issue is it doesn’t detect them, but if that’s the case then I can’t see what the update changed at all.
I think I may have found the issue I was having here, in the Blackpool case of the class 47, I don’t think it was registering I had the safety systems unisolated (in particular the DSD) I was getting a warning to unisolate it despite already doing that.
it appears theirs a safety system issue what causes it not to get up to the points when I used it, got told to unisolate DSD when it already was. I’ve seen that people are still able to get 65 points form driving but I wasn’t despite having the safety systems on.
I’ve had this issue on class 47(DSD) on Blackpool & 66 on ECML(AWS). Systems were activated in both instances. But scored as if switched off.
Same here, but I am afraid that we will not see a fix for this because this DLC is already 4 months old and we know how "old" DLCs are treated... but now I started to give negative reviews to DLCs stating the problems, so if the publishers need positive reviews they have to fix their s*it.
I have to say I have had no trouble to reach platinum level in the majority routes, when safety systems were switched on. The only train I have problems with, is the BR185.2 in Austria. I turn on the PZB, LZB and Sifa, at the beginning of the service, yet the amount of points added at the end of the route is still equal to zero in the final screen. The weird issue is that even with everything activated at startup, I still get the notification "activate sifa for additional points"
