I just ordered the PC version, I take it you use the mouse to operate things, or can I use a flight sim joystick? Col.
I don't know if a joystick, especially one designed for Flight Sim(s), makes any sense for a train simulator. You may be able to use it, but I'm not sure. you can also use your mouse to operate the vehicle or your keyboard using some keybinds.
Thank you for the quick reply, I was more thinking of the throttle and brake, I did try train sim years ago but I always slowed down too soon or too late using the keyboard. I remember seeing a contoller for train sim years ago but they were expensive, not sure if they still make them or if they work on this sim. Col.
Takes practice. And even then, I still sometimes misjudge my braking distance after several thousands hours of playing train sims. I doubt using another type of input device would solve the problem.
Thank you, I know this may sound a bit early but is there a place to download routes that players have made or any other stuff like that? Col.
There are no routes or locos made by the community available(, yet). But you can still find a lot of great mods on Trainsimcommunity.
and it even works way better than the creators club. but that's a different thread. for train sim community do filter for TSW4 supported mods and I think there was some thing with assetregistry workaround. if you see that, those mods are pre winter core update
Ever since dtg changed how mods work, lots of mods that didn't work now work and several older mods from all the way back in rush hour. Some mods don't work at all or have to be updated. There used to be disclaimer under some mods about the workaround but they've been removed so I think it's safe to use. The ones I use have been working even after several updates to
yeah I decided to start over. the 101 and 401 enhancement pack and seeing actual NJ and metronom trains to drive and as AI was something that really made driving my german routes a load better. the standard DB livery on NJ and EC trains is really something I hope gets changed. idc that much about the interior even since u do drive the train, not ride on it 99% of the time. so even just a reskin for said wagons would be great in spicing up the railscene. I now only look for mods released or updated after the winter core update though to make my game with a load of dlc work fine without crashes. and apart from an EN service from bludenz with the 182 and hannah's NJ coaches where I couldn't open doors from the cab but opened by hand. I haven't had a single issue yet
Wow ty you guys, I am more a flight simmer and always tweaking but I watched a video on YouTube and I fancied this sim. When it arrives I'll take it easy, I odered a couple of routes too. Col.
tip for getting new routes. wait for bundle and sales. there are a lot and since you get normal amount of traffic on routes when you have a lot of dlc. it really helps waiting for a sale since the devs stated since tsw4 they won't be actively working on updating any routes after release apart from very rarely some bugfixes
I just saw a thread where there is a download to use a joystick, has anyone tried it? I have the TrailDriver ordered but won't arrive for over a week. Col.
Well it said I would get the sim plus addon routes yesterday Thursday, they never arrived, so today still not arrived, so fingers crossed for Saturday.
