As well it should; the 111 uses the major mechanicals from the 110. It really is in most respects the BR 110B

Ok, even though it costed me a lot, I forced myself to play the route again and again today, I'm slowly crawling to yet another autistic burnout now.

    About the floating forest:
It's definitely there and it's definitely there for everyone, assets do not get misplaced at random in UE and the same file it's cooked for everyone.
The only reason why folks on console will never notice it is because they con not beef up the .ini file.
So basically, if you play with the regular .ini file, the one where basically everything comes in to be in a 2.5 meter radius around the player you will never see the floating forest because for you it's not even loading the trees.
If instead like me and many others you are on PC and you increased the LOD and loading range then you have the wooden alien mothership.

    About the PZB:
This time around I have it on video, PZB is definitely not working as intended.
Going to Rosenheim, 1,3km to the station I got hit again by invisible PZB not showing any alert on my HUD (again, is on video) the train, I was driving the black 185 shows on screen: "nicht zeitgerecht betätigt" and "zwangsbremsung".
For the record, I hit the PZB plate at 59km/h so also the thing that you should not pass over PZB at too much speed, honestly, doesn't hold any water for me. What should I do? Drive the whole route at 20km/h in fear of hitting a PZB magnet? And also why this picky PZB plates are installed only on this route since I never had any problem in any other German route no matter the speed I hit a PZB magnet?
Now I'm loading the video on my Youtube channel, it will take a while since I'm using DSL, but as soon as it's done I'll share and point at the part of the clip where the accident with invisible PZB happens.

As I have mentioned before, I like this route.
    So I purchased it.
But the fact the only news about trains, is the DB111 - for a route with lot of AI ones - , does not have any new wagon. Passenger or freight.

So thinking about what model can be added, ... I remember one that it was already developed several years ago, but I do not remember to seen it on images here in the forums either! .

I am referring to Uacns. The cement hopper.

    UACNS- CEMENT HOPPER.jpg

So it will be nice, if DTG added to this route too... for free!
Due to as mentioned is was only included, on a very old route, and will provide more freight trains with a different freight car model.
It will be great even if they could add VTG logo too.

I have checked VTG webpage, and they have this wagon on its fleet.

UACNS- CEMENT HOPPER - VTG REAL.jpg

Despite of this different color, if DTG keeps the color of the one they did, and just add the VTG logo, or even does not change anything of it, it will be ok for me.

I believe the route as showed, does not have a cement plant.
Anyway I do not mind. Dresden Riesa it has the VTG hoppers added with the Vectron, but they only runs on the route. There is no need to have a facility for loading or unloading.
Just a departing and arriving freight yard.
So could be the same with the Uacns.

But anyway, to have a different freight car will be great.

    What do you think?

Good point, Sharon. I'm driving the route's primary engine, the BR 185.2. It has several PZB/LBZ related controls on the right side of the desk, but none of them are involved in turning it on and off. Hope you can help me.

    Thanks.

While exploring on foot I noticed there were no AI trains at all towards Rosenheim. Apparently a freight train is stuck in Liefering blocking all other traffic out of Salzburg.

They are on the back wall behind the driver's chair. There is a breaker panel there and they are the only 2 switches you can move.

I have seen some posts concerning safety system sounds not playing post resume from save. I have to say, this has not affected me. I must have resumed from save 5+ times in running service GAG (47815) part 2 using a 185 and every time the safety system sounds were there.

The upload is finally complete. In the video there's the full run, including the floating forest (you can clearly see it spawning in the sky at 20:30 min).
A bit of context before the video, I was driving as usual with all the safety systems active and I was approaching Rosenheim.
I see a 60km/s speed limit with a yellow signal 100mt in front of it. I use the AFB well in advance to reduce the speed to 60km/h.
I pass the PZB plate together with the yellow signal, my finger steady and ready on PgDn to acknowledge an eventual PZB call, but nothing happens, no yellow countdown bar on HUD no fancy fleshing lights on the dashboard.
3 or 4 seconds later I have a German guy shouting at me and the train in emergency brake. [EDIT - Jan - Inappropriate]

here is the video, the accident happens at 25:50 min

Obviously the video is unlisted (you can watch it only through this link) and will not go live because IMHO it will not do justice to a game I love and I don't like to wash dirty linens in public.

And to add offense to injury, that's the screenshot of the run summary, note how many bonus points I received for being so diligent and use all the safety systems  lol

Edit: never mind, it seems it doesn't allow me to post pictures, I got 0 points for using the safety systems and only got the gold.

I have now made experience with this is route and all i can say is ... its going to be my favourite route!
    Pro:
    • Salzburg Hbf looks really great and I really recognize it from reality
    • The timetable makes a lot of fun
    • The BR 111 makes so much fun to drive, its a fast loco and it is really well-recreated
    • The Chiemseebahn is a really nice idea, especially with the sounds! One of the best ideas for mastery rewards so far!
    Contra:
    • The recreation from the museum in Freilassing is...(especially for someone who likes that museum like me) ...needing improvement, but luckily we have scenery overlay tools in the editor!
    • The BR 111 cant be used in formation designer

Well, nothing happened because you didn't acknowledge PZB! The warning you see onscreen is a game helper- IRL PZB never signals you or tells you to acknowledge. It's the driver's responsibility to hit the button upon passing a non-clear Vorsignal or an Lf6 sign, and only then will the 1000-Hz light illuminate and the speed light blink. That's why you got a Zwansbremsung.

Nothing happened because you didn’t acknowledge the signal as you’re supposed to. PZB works just as intended and punished you accordingly.

As a side note if you’re interested in being true to life - that’s now how you use AFB. No driver would ever use it to slow down like that. You brake manually with either the train brake or the electric brake.

I have a problem with the SIFA security system. The problem is with the control car 766.2 and with the BR111DB locomotive. If I turn on the service from the game menu, everything is fine. If I take the service of an already running game on the 766.2, it cannot be confirmed with the button with the wheel. The BR111 locomotive does not have an audible alarm. They are playing on PS5 build number 972.

I'm adding another bug report. In the control car 766, the wipers stopped working. These frequent malfunctions need to be repaired at the DTG depot.

I'm sorry but I don't drive trains in real life, so I'm learning, about the signal I got it now, even though... The in game PZB yellow bar or visual aid, works on 100% of all the other routes 100% of the time and in my other runs on Rosenheim route it worked as well, only this time it didn't, so I still see a problem here, either you get the visual aid or you don't I really don't think DTG meant it to work randomly.

About the AFB, why shouldn't I use it to slow down? It's basically an all in one speed control and speed target, it applies throttle if I set it at an higher target speed and it applies regenerative brakes if I target a slower speed than my current one.
Are you suggesting that I should deactivate AFB every time I want to slow down and manually apply regenerative brakes, the same regenerative brakes that AFB would have applied if I targeted a lower speed?
I'm sorry, but I don't see the logic in that.

You don't have to disengage AFB to apply brakes! Just apply the brakes. (This will lock the throttle out, so you need then to reduce throttle to Off and come back up after you release the brakes) While the train is slowing down, you can reset AFB to the lower speed

Ah, I see. Didn’t know about that aid thing since since I don’t use it. In that case, I agree.

Because AFB is extremely abrupt in how it works. If you set the speed to slower than you’re going, you’re not telling the computer to slow down please, you’re telling it that you’re speeding and need all of the brakes right now.

In theory, yes, but that’s not how it’s used in real life. Whether you use if for acceleration is more a matter of taste but the lever is not pulled back for braking.

As solicitr said, no need to deactivate anything. The difference is timing. When you pull back the AFB handle, the loco will brake hard as quickly as possible. When you brake manually, you apply them more carefully. If you’re only using the electric brake for example, you gently increase it over a period of time to avoid jerking the entire train. Take a look at this cab ride for example starting at 23:30 and you’ll see some electric braking under AFB.

The runs I have done, yes. However it does seem the route is prone to red light lock ups with or without coming back to a save game which could explain why on occasion nothing else seemed to be moving.

Now I get it, thanks a lot for the explanation, it all makes more sense now. So basically until now I used AFB in a very aggressive way, can't even imagine the joy of my virtual passengers, all splattered on one side of the carriage at the first brake XD.

So just to recap, from now on: I'll manually brake well on time before a speed mark, the trains will start braking, the traction is locked, I panic because I've the feeling I'm loosing the control of the train, but then I remember my mother's disappointed face for my unconventional use of AFB, this gives me the strength to reset the AFB at a lower speed while the traction is still locked. The train then reach the desired lower speed, I gently but firmly release the brakes (and feel a macho by doing so), the train calmly start to get under AFB control and BAM, it's done!
(you are allowed to remove the emotionally embarrassing part when reading it in your mind)

28th of September 1928 was the first public speech of Mr Moustachio himself.

It’s there, just not visible with default settings. If you increase the grass cull distance (which is a perfectly normal thing to do, and which works on pretty much every other DLC without issue) a huge tile of 3D trees appears in the sky. That can’t be right & it must be affecting performance for everyone, visible or not. Obviously grass cull should only affect grass.

The darkness was because I was playing with lighting and trying to balance it out a bit. It wasn’t primarily what I was looking at in that instance.

No problem whatsoever :) Besides the abundance of official rules, there are a ton of these unofficial rules and I try to share what I know. At the end of the day, we can all learn from each other.

It’s best to put the throttle to ‘off’ before you’re braking; that way you don’t have to worry about a traction lock and the ride will be smoother (no jump from traction to braking because you’re coasting in between - at least for a bit). Just for transparency’s sake, this is how I do it:
    1. Driving with AFB; throttle at max or as high as I need. Speed restriction is coming up in a few kilometres.
    2. Put throttle to ‘off’ to let the train coast and reduce speed in an energy efficient way.
    3. When I’m closing in on the restriction (like 1-1.5km before): start gently applying the brakes. Can be only the electrics or the train brake if the restriction is closer than I expected or the speed drop is very significant.
    4. When the train has reached the new top speed, release the brakes.
    5. Only now do I put AFB to this slower speed now that I’m already under it.
    6. Reapply power as/if necessary.
    Hope that helps :)

The 4024 isn't working in timetable mode with CC liveries.

Please fix that and think about the Cityjet livery for the upcoming Semmering route to have a bit more variety.

if you want sth like CityJet livery, search for MiriJet livery for 4024... not the best but IMHO passable one, by me :)

    NOT A BUG

You get a Zwangsbremsung because you have not confirmed the yellow Vr0 signal within 4 seconds (there's no notification of you doing so visible). That's no bug - PZB works as it should.

The signal you have passed is a combination signal, it acts as main and distant signal. The distant signal function is indicated by the yellow (orange) triangle on the mast - so it has to be acknowledged if not clear (green).

You must press "PZB Wachsam" as this is a warning distant Vr0 with an active 1000 Hz magnet (afterwards expect an active 500 Hz magnet not to be passed at more than 50 km/h in PZB M mode)
    3232.png

Note that in PZB mode "M", any active 1000 Hz magnet triggers supervision that you reduce speed to under 70 km/h within 29 seconds.

As opposed to the british AWS, you will not get a warning sound. It is your job to watch the signals. As you have not confirmed the warning signal, PZB assumes you have not seen it and brakes the train to prevent you from going over the following red signal.

aka my emergency rule for PZB - you see any yellow, you acknowledge and brake until you get under 85, ideally 80 km/h :D

and if you see more yellow, just slam the brakes and pray to train Jesus not to get Zwangsbremsung :D

  26. Spikee1975

    Spikee1975 Guest

You get under the speed that is displayed in the PZB - in this case 70 (in real life, stay 5 km/h under the limit, so 65 in this case - but expecting the 500 Hz "M" brake curve that goes from 50 down to 35 to protect the red signal - in "O" it's 65->45 and in "U" 40->25)

Is this a difference between trains? All the time I've passed 1000hz magnets in TSW I've gotten warning sounds.

Only an acknowledgement sound when you confirm (or if failed to do so) - passing an active magnet will never cause a sound in PZB (if it does, it's a bug (or simplification) like in some legacy GermanRailroads TSC locos)

No no, I get this, the mistake is clear, but the BUG is the reason for the mistake.
As you can see in the video the HUD didn't show any "acknowledge the PZB you idiot" notification as I call it XD
You know, notification with the yellow bar that once you acknowledge start to decrease acting as a timer within which you have to decrease your speed according to the PZB mode you are using.

Now, I get that majority of you are expert on PZB, but I'm not, so the HUD aid is a big deal for me and here it's the bug, no notification on HUD.

Edit: oh wow, 17 views on my unlisted video, I should have monetized it XD
Just joking, I can not monetize it even if I wanted to

Ok, so the bug is the information is not visible in the HUD, I get it. It's not the PZB itself, maybe it's down to the Player Assist settings? I don't know, I never rely on the HUD and only watch the signals. If it's anything other than green - acknowledge! (Also green with a speed indicator of 80 or lower!)

And sometimes, you come across this without any signal lights - you must treat it as a permanent yellow signal and also confirm this. Its 1000 Hz magnet is always active.

This is one reason that I have avoided German routes, but this route appeals to me and I am pushing through to learn it well. I did a full route run with a freight, GAG (47815) using a 185. I saved frequently and to get over the entire run, I had to resume from the save 5+ times. Usually, it was PZB that got me, but Sifa did also. I could never figure out how to recover from a PZB penalty in the 185, so just resumed at the last save and tried not to make the same error this time, though as I approached 60 km/h speed reduction, it took 2 resumes to figure out how to get the heavy train under the 70 km/h requirement before it timed out. Are we having fun yet???

I will always use freight runs to learn a route. You don't have to worry about stopping while you are trying to learn the signal set up on it.

One good thing I learned this evening, which I think might already have been covered. On the 111 if you toggle the traction motor fan off, the noise goes away and you just get the lovely sound of the traction motors and rheostatic braking. Nothing has overheated yet so suspect it is entirely cosmetic and not part of the system physics. Going to try that next time I run the 103 and 110 too.

Resuming from a PZB penalty is as simple as pressing [End] (PZB Release) as soon as the train has stopped and waiting for the brakes to recharge.

Also, I think it's better for learning if you continue without reloading (which may lead to issues), that way you can learn how to handle these situations - forget the scoring while you're learning. :)

the most punishment one gets from PZB isnt really the shame of not recognising a signal or so... but that daaaaamn noise that you get when you trip a ZWANGSBREMSUUUUNG... which blares loudly AF until train stops and you can end the pain with the button :D

Indeed. And in reality, when getting a penalty brake you must support it by putting the brake lever to SB (Schnellbremsung / Emergency) so the valve doesn't let air from the main reservoir into the HLL (brakepipe) which would slow down braking, additionally use sanders.

The best way to learn all this is to remove the AP display and just experiment with these things. You can't break anything really. :) And as there is no Career mode (which would actually lower overall score due to bad performance), the worst thing is you get out with zero points added to your XP (which in itself is pretty useless, but each to their own)

I've learned something new. I usually support a penalty brake with a Full Service application, so I need to go one step further.

If you are not playing in Journey mode, try going into the map (2D) view and deleting the stuck train(s) see if that unlocks things. It worked for me outside Rosenheim the other evening.

However I agree, having believed DTG had purged the red light lock up syndrome it does appear to be back with a vengeance on this otherwise excellent route. And before anyone suggests driving the run in one session, it takes nearly 90 mins to do an end to end RE service and still well over an hour for an IC. Not all of us have time to do it in one go and depend on the save game being able to restore the state of the route and trains. Though my advice would be to try and get as much done in the first session as possible. My experience is that saving early then resuming tends to increase the chance of things at the far end of the route not starting to move.

since the route has a couple yards and all, and it looks well suited to freight stuff, might have to do some refreshing about some German signals, especially shunting ones... managed to get two Zwangsbremsungs in like 50m - one was shunting signal meant to be overriden, the other was previously red, now yellow and forgot to acknowledge it, lol

that happens when you play TSW at 3am after BR111 run to Salzburg and dosto run to Rosenheim right back :D

okay i have photos of the red signal issue hope this helps this is not the only service that does it with the BR 111 DB i have only been able to do 1 of 3 trips i done with this loco on the route so far its clear there will be more i swear who are the ones checking things before release because its clear been turned a blind eye to this issue was well known in TSW Back few years ago before it started getting fixed but sad to say is back in a big way i even took off my custom engine.ini to see if that was the issue and sad to say no its not so this need to be reported to the team at Dovetail games asap to be looked into a fix in a post release patch 20240303220818_1.jpg 20240303220818_1.jpg 20240303220842_1.jpg 20240303220756_1.jpg

Not interested in watching your livestreams, I have the game myself.

If you're not giving details nothing can be fixed. Your posts are useless. No one asked you to post here ;)

Sorry could you stop to use things that have make large scars in Europe.... To use 1928, for people they have no clue it was the NSDAP, (Nazis) that winns the Elections in Germany and later results in WW2 and all the horror with result....

Absolutely disgusting to make such writings....

Another bug is signalling (oh no, again), because there is no signal to reduce speed on that junction.
