Might be hard reselling the same route over and over to get the extensions. Mergers also aren't possible in tsw due to technical reasons
I don't think those are resells. they made 4 seperate routes. and then later connected them. I don't play TSC so I'm unsure if they had the connections in mind already. most technical issues I heard was most connecting routes have different timetables that don't go together. so there would be a need to make a new one which takes a lot of work and time.
In tsw, the only extensiom was "resold." Sehs was repackaged under tsw3 when it was extended. Matt explained in the february roadmap but the technical challenges for mergers include getting the signals and gameplay working. There are many other reasons they didn't mention but those are some of the reasons why it can't happen
yes, TSW doesn’t currently have the tech to do that, it hasn’t been seen to if that can be done properly with more development in that area, whether that will always be the case isnt known. It’s like CC or any other feature before they done it, it doesn’t exist until it’s developed and whether it can be developed from what they have.
West Coastway to Bognor or even right down to Portsmouth, get a nice run on the 313s and can utilise the 158 too, perhaps the Southern route from Three bridges down to Littlehampton, get a lovely run down through the wooded Sussex countryside past Arundel Castle and can be well utilised for railtours.
More branch line stuff: It is pie in the sky, and would never happen, but allowing for existing areas to link together would be awesome. For example extending MML over the ECML at Grantham and Newark to Skegness and Cleethorpes would add so much more to the game like Leicester to Lincoln, Nottingham to Peterborough, Nottingham to Skegness... And I'm sure this would be possible. If a future version of TSW really was a world the modding/third party opportunities to develop a fuller network would be second to none. Not going to happen any time soon, but if we are talking extentions that would be my wish. We should embrace ambition and shoot for the stars in the hope of getting to..... Grantham?
It could eventually be done i hope, have two sections, Ashford to Lille and then to Paris and voila you have a cracking route.
My picks are gonna all be UK stuff but here goes MML- Extension to Sheffield ECML- Extension to Kings Cross ECW- Extension to Ore GWE- Extension to Oxford
I just found something remarkable. Western Maryland Scenic Railroad. Sand Patch could be extended with this and upgraded to TOD4 at the same time. I just found the station to the scenic railroad on Canal st and Baltimore st literally 300 yards or metres from the Amtrak station. The WMSR is far more beautiful!! And then what about adding a an extension to Sand Patch as well and a branch?
I'd love another LGV route. Paris to Rennes.... but it isn't an extension. The only extension DTG was looking at was to York (ECML) I think. Then everyone was saying this and that...... SEHS extended hasn't even got the Sheerness branch so I doubt all this other stuff will materialize. Main Spessart Bahn even hasn't got the extension treatment so I doubt there will be a bag full of extensions coming our way. I could be wrong though!! I wonder if the Goblin Line will be open for extension with the Richmond to Stratford part in the original TSC North London Line. Maintalbahn was slated for a possible extension by Lucas. I wonder if the LGV Mediterranean (Marseille-Lyon) line will get the same extension as it did in TSC?
Lukas indeed said in the Maintalbahn stream that they might want to extend the route from Miltenberg up to Wertheim, if the demand of the players would be there for it. But very very unlikely if you ask me.
It could be that it even was in german (since Lukas and Jan talked a lot in german in this stream), so you probably couldn't even understand it. But as I said nothing too fancy here. Very unlikely that it happens.
Yes, seems unlikely. Like freight routes I am guilty of not playing it since the first 3 weeks or so after launch. Glad we have it though. It's beautiful. I was going to do a shunting scenario but I think it needs to released in the editor first? Bit complicated. I can't complain, the amount of problems DTG must encounter in doing routes and everything else with bugs etc must be time consuming at the least....
I suspect the only real way routes would be extended is if they were planned that way from the start, for example there has been a lot of talk on the forums about how the Goblin line is part of a larger route within TSC, so potentially DTG could have forward planned and built Goblin in a way that allows an easy extension. Another example is how the Taurus should be hauling trains on Vorarlberg, but it's too much effort to go back and add those services in. Had DTG forward planned they could have added hidden services that only became visible if you also bought the relevant new route. At present it is a large amount of work to add new stuff to existing routes, for example we are about to get the Fife Circle running out of Edinburgh, but those trains still won't appear at Waverley if you are playing the Edinburgh-Glasgow route - I'm hoping the Edinburgh-Glasgow route's trains at least appear as AI when playing the Fife Circle route. So many times we see forum talk of how an empty station could be filled by future releases, but SEHS is the only route where that has happened, and that was remade rather than extended.
Extend Darlington to Bishops Auckland TVL Extend Norton Fitzwarren to Taunton WSR and make the route double track
since Rosenheim - Salzburg is so good, I would love an extension there, in whatever direction, either to Munchen, or east towards more Austrian track
