Hello today's suggestion is for a route on the Piccadilly line from Heathrow Airport terminal 4 to Cockfosters this would be a great addition to the game as introduces us to a new route with new scenery, new stations and a new train. Rolling Stock 1973 Stock The London Underground 1973 Stock is a type of rolling stock used on the Piccadilly line of the London Underground. It was introduced into service in 1975 with the extension of the line to Hatton Cross, followed by a further extension to Heathrow Central in 1977. A total of 86 six-car trains were built. Train Information: Stock type Deep-level tube In service 19 July 1975 – present Manufacturer Metro-Cammell[1] Built at Washwood Heath, Birmingham, England[1] Replaced 1959 Stock Constructed 1974–1977[1] Refurbished Bombardier Prorail (at Horbury railway works) 1996–2001[1] Number built 175 units (87+1⁄2 trains) Successor New Tube for London Formation 3 cars per unit, 2 units per train Capacity 684 per train[1] Depots Northfields Lines served Piccadilly Specifications Train length 106.810 m (350 ft 5.1 in) Car length DM 17.473 m (57 ft 3.9 in) UNDM/T 17.676 m (57 ft 11.9 in) Width 2.629 m (8 ft 7.5 in) Height 2.888 m (9 ft 5.7 in) Maximum speed 72 km/h (45 mph) Weight DM 27.15 long tons (27.59 t; 30.41 short tons) UNDM 26.16 long tons (26.58 t; 29.30 short tons) T 18.16 long tons (18.45 t; 20.34 short tons) Traction system Pneumatic single camshaft (GEC Traction)[1] Traction motors LT118 DC motor (Brush Traction)[1] Electric system(s) Fourth rail, 630 V DC Current collector(s) Contact shoe Track gauge 4 ft 8+1⁄2 in (1,435 mm) standard gauge Route Information Route length:18 miles Route time: 1 hour 26 minutes -Heathrow Terminal 4 -Heathrow Terminals 2 and 3 -Hatton Cross -Hounslow West -Hounslow Central -Hounslow East -Osterley -Boston Manor -Northfields -South Ealing -Acton Town -Turnham Green -Hammersmith -Barons Court -Earls Court -Gloucester Road -South Kensington -Knightsbridge -Hyde Park Corner -Green Park -Piccadilly Circus -Leicester Square -Covent Garden -Holborn -Russell Square -Kings Cross St Pancras -Caledonian Road -Holloway Road - Arsenal -Finsbury Park -Manor House -Turnpike Lane -Wood Green -Bounds Green -Arnos Grove -Southgate -Oakwood -Cockfosters Potential other train to include If possible at a later date after the route releases I think it would be appropriate to include the train that is replacing the 1973 Stock the 2024 stock Conclusion This would be great to see in game as said before it introduces us to a new train and route aswell as new stations and scenery and the potential for a second train The 2024 stock to be added at a later date where appropriate. Thanks for reading
Heathrow regrettably has a Security obstacle to be currently included in TSW, unless theirs a way round it eventually, its a right off.
Didn't realise however won't be taking down the post as I spent a good like 40 miniutes putting it together
the post is all fine, it’s more to do with the operators and the infrastructure what would need putting in to the game realistically to make it possible where the issue of security no go comes up
Great suggestion, this is definitely the route I want the most in TSW, with the Uxbridge branch included and some Sub-Surface Stock AI. Maybe JT could do the Met Line first to create layers for this route
Great suggestion, I would love for another LU route to come. The Piccadilly Line was supposed to come before the Bakerloo Line did in TSW2 but I'm happy they didn't do it because if they do it at a later date it would look way better and it can have the new features. But if this was included unfortunately the Heathrow Branch would be excluded as previously said, security issues but that doesn't mean we can't have Cockfosters - Uxbridge and the branch line to Heathrow stopping at Hatton Cross
Would certainly be a brilliant addition to the game especially as there’s the GWR add on which can link with the Piccadilly Line.
I would love this route. I am hoping it can be made possible. It stops at many bustling stops and covers a large amount of London.
Very nice suggestion! also suggested the same topic a few weeks ago; Let's hope that Dovitail will take this into consideration. https://forums.dovetailgames.com/threads/london-underground-piccadilly-line-1973-tube-stock.76405/
Thanks mate I saw one comment on your post that said that there is already a London Underground route in tsw so unlikely just ignore the negativeity there is always room for more London Underground
It may be only 45 miles but it's the total amount of stations that needs to be modelled that's the only issue the whole Piccadilly line may not be possible
Exactly there's so much requests in the forum for more London Underground content which i believe is long overdue since Bakerloo Line was what 3 years ago Train Sim World 2, now we are at Train sim world 4. I'd like JT to make Metropolitan Line for TSW 4 just my opinion but agree with you more London Underground content
OR, as I’ve posted before… A whole series of games based on different Underground systems starting with London, then expanding out to global underground’s such as Le Metro in France, New York Subway Transit System, Japanese Metro Subway, etc. A whole sub-division of designers, programmers, etc. just for a series of games made by Dovetail. Now that would be cool.
They have made route that are about 80 miles and they have a lack of stations and are incredibly boring.
That would be the dream. In particular the Underground as that is such an incredible network. It would be a great project for DTG to work on and they could get the help of Just Trains for Metropolitan and district lines
