This roadmap is "sad". Nothing new and the 104 is pushed back :(

Lots of new stuff announced recently, we shouldn’t expect much until summer

I must of missed Simtrack being the team working on the new German Loco - I wonder how big they are, jumping from a livery pack, to simultaneously developing a 104 & DE loco in a similar timeframe.

I see the SR158 will also be abit later than I initially thought which is a shame on one hand, but at least FC will bed in before getting more content. Glad to see announcements are a continuing theme with Rivet. Especially the progression with how they are being implemented.

After the very nice recent German release, I look forward very much to the new Austrian route from DTG.

Looks like a lot of things moving in the wrong direction:

Suspension system and the Class 104 for PFR moved to TBD (i give this a bit of a pass as it's a new dev). But, not even an acknoweldgement that suspension system is WAY behind schedule?

Formation manager and PC editor improvements aren't even on the actual roadmap anymore (though they are mentioned in the actual article with the bizarre Q&A format- what even was that?)

No update on LIRR2- do we just assume it's dead?

Fife Circle will have working announcements (yay!), but DTG can't do it on Suffragette Line because.....? It's not on the roadmap so i guess they're not even working on it?

Just a complete mess right now IMO.

I am excited for Fife Circle and Tadami Line though.

Do they have to have a new route or loco to show every month?

On another note, if you watch the Overground first look video, besides the routes itself looking good at 2:06 you can hear the 710’s motors (they sound good)

They won't do it because they want to create a core system rather than doing it manually for every loco so don't expect it any time soon

the DB BR 420 has been "about to be released" since tsw3, I want it so much, that's so depressing

It's been on the roadmap since tsw2. Long story short, munchen-augsburg requires updating by dtg for the 420 to even work without problems in the first place. Tsg is also extremely busy. They are constantly pulled in dtg German projects which slows things down and is their main source of income. They are also perfectionists, so they won't release something until it meets a very high standard

Agree, slightly underwhelming roadmap this month!

    The suspension looks interesting however.

That so called LIRR.20 is going to be scrapped
..I'm waiting for DTG to prove me wrong, but as usual they proved me right, this wasn't going to happen lol.

Calling Salzburg to Rosenheim mountainous and hilly is a bit of a stretch, I mean it's a nice route but essentially it runs through at best undulating flat country.

Like others a bit disappointed the 104 is pushed back as that is the only absolute must have on the list for me, but if it means a better quality model then hopefully worth the wait.

Got to be brutally honest, the TSG 420 let alone the 232 seem to be evaporating into vapourware.

New section from ECML DON -> NCL with some kind of merge? Only 1 hour 18 so maybe not unreasonable and could be deemed a new route rather than extension due to length

Mergers can't happen in tsw unfortunately because of many technical challenges

    Looks somewhat interesting!
Disappointed that the 104 is delayed but I'd rather they get it polished and right first time so totally understandable.

Rivets work looks interesting with the GSMR and announcements just hopefully they can sort the sounds out. The scenery looks good though!

The video for Goblin looks really nice with the assets and scenery. Interested they went for a night running video but I can't help noticing the lighting in the buildings still seems very uniform again? Although the house in the screenshot looked like it's had a bit of a wonky roof although thats hardly a big issue just made me chuckle

Yes but nothing to stop them extending from the master copy and issuing as a mega route.

As an update to the above, we've just added a preview for the Semmeringbahn ÖBB 1116 “Taurus” in the form of a cab walkaruond :)

I rather they delay the 104. It really needs that extra bit of polish and hey who knows maybe they are doing all Variants that the 104 operated in

So, they're not working on it at all since it's not on the roadmap.

And that's good for us as consumers?

I just don't understand their logic. Rivet and JT seem to have come up with a system that works and doesn't eat up a lot of budget/dev time- why not just copy it?

They're always trying to reinvent the wheel and as a result features either never appear, are one and done, or take forever and get held over for the inevitable next version of the game.

    It's maddening IMO.

I must admit, not the most exciting roadmap at all for me and doesn't look like I will be spending owt on TSW for a good few months, unless Rivet really impress enough with the 170 so I don't have to wait for the 158. My thoughts on GOBLIN are still very much the same even after this video, so that one won't appear on the radar unless it is 50% off or more.

Another slightly disappointing note is the 104 being put in the TBC pile, which although a shame, as it were the only thing I were properly looking forward to, it is good to see that Simtrack are clearly taking care whilst making it and aren't just going to push it out no matter the condition. I would rather they spend the extra time making a splendid unit, that end up pushing out a half decent unit.

In the 4-6 month pile there is of course the yet to be named British loco/unit which may or may not interest me along with a new unnamed British route, again my interest can't be determined yet. I really wish we had some short of indication of the rough type of route or train that we are going to get, such as the codes we used to be shown.

The suspension updates are seemingly coming along, even if that 66 seemed to bounce a fair bit on those points, though I have never been in a 66 so couldn't accurately question that. Of course I suppose that a bit more bounce may be needed to get it across through a digital screen anyway so it may feel alright when being used.

I think they were my key points I had sitting on me, so I'll finish up there.

  26. It was added when TSW2 released and after a while did look like we were going in the right direction but in the past 2 or so years it has been radio silence, the only official mentions being in "Release TBC" in the roadmap once a month. At this rate we will be on TSW12 when it releases

Any progress on LIRR 2.0? I really hope it's not scrapped as it sounds like alot of work has been put into it. It appears in the SteamDB, that the LIRR EMU's are in the process or receiving updates for the new route

I think the team in charge of this are very much on the right track! Again, I think a few adjustments to the frequencies could be done, but this is definitely a great improvement of the sounds when comparing to the previous Taurus sound attempts. :)

Now I really hope that the newest sounds could be used for the older Taurus locos too.

Finally a promising cabin setup for the Taurus, with boot-up screens, correct (maybe) battery controls and other interesting details, but it still seems to lack indication of expended and regenerated energy (KWh).

Also, I cannot determine if the AFB holding brake operates correctly now (it did not in some previous version)...
But I suppose that someone else will surely be able to understand it, even from these brief images...

There have been two components to the 420's long gestation. The original one is that TSG was spending a very great deal of its time doing second-party contract work for DTG, projects like the 101 and 103; this meant that their own projects like the 420 and 232 were back-burnered. But even after the 420 was effectively finished, which AIUI it is, another problem developed- the München-Augsburg route where it is to run is so overloaded currently that there is no overhead for adding another layer. Until HMA is optimized, the 420 can't be added to it.

Can't wait to see it repainted to ČD livery. And, of course hoping for Railjet to come, also repaintable to white and blue ;) Not sure if it's possible to see any of those czech trains on Semmeringbahn or other austrian TSW routes in reality?

It should be easy enough to look up which CD services run in Austria, and where. At a guess, though, they probably work north from Vienna, not west.

in other words, as always, dtg is responsible for the fact that the 420 has not left the "release date to be confirmed" category since tsw2

DTG Matt : you asked that we ping you with instances of inconsistent keyboard mapping, so here is one. A small one, but extremely annoying.

It has to do with the cruise control on-off on the 4024 Talent I. On every other cc-equipped train in TSW, the function is a toggle mapped to ctrl-R. Press once, on; press again, off. The problem arises because the 4024, oddly, has a three-position on-off-on switch, and the loco cab dev decided to try to make an analog of that function with the key mapping. So on this train, ctrl-R moves the switch up, and ctrl-shift-R moves it down; but whether either one is "on" or "off", or even moves it at all, depends entirely on the virtual position of the in-cab switch- which can be quite hard to see especially at night! This is inconsistent, and inconvenient. Really it should be a straightforward toggle like on all the other trains.
(There is also a problem with the associated tooltip, but that isn't a key mapping issue)

It's nobody's fault. I'm pretty sure doing 2nd party work is the main source of income for tsg with their own content adding a bit more. You just have to be patient

One of the poorest RMs. If they want to make debates and beta testing of every new features, then we will see them in tsw7 or 8, very concerning policy (I would say "suspension debate" is trying to make soft landing for DTGs delays).

Is there any further info about this UK loco add-on coming? I know there was nothing on the actual roadmap but it's worth asking just in case you can maybe drop a few little hints as to what it could be..? ;)
I'd love to just know whether it'll be a freight train or a passenger train, just to narrow it down some more!
(I completely understand if you're not allowed to share any info but as I said, I thought it was worth asking just in case - thanks!)

Compared to last month, this roadmap is rather underwhelming overall - but very much looking forward to Semmeringbahn and Fife Circle so at least that's something to look forward too in the meantime.

I know and I definitely will be looking out in the future roadmaps of course!
I only asked because sometimes they might drop a little hint or something, I'm not expecting anything to be said in all honesty but better to be safe than sorry!
(Sorry if I came off as being impatient, I wasn't trying to be but if It seemed that way then yeah, I apologise.)

I think most of us were hoping for some leak regarding the new UK loco, but there was no JD in the stream so we can still enjoy the pure speculations ;)

There is the LIRR stuff to come, then maybe one more US Route before whatever September brings.

There is no mention of PC editor updates on the roadmap. Has development been suspended?

Unfortunately, nothing to look forward to except for San Bernadino. Hopefully the licensing for LIRR gets approved soon
