TSW4 has been a very good release. There is not much I have to complain about since it was launched but I still have one major gripe with TSW and that is how the DLC is stored on consoles and the UI to manage DLC. It feels like one big mess as a console user. Please make all available loco's in TSW part of the base game. Yes the base game will get bigger each time a new route comes out but we won't need duplicates every time we buy a new route with already existing rolling stock. I have so many routes I will never play again but I keep them installed because of layers etc. If we buy a route the game can check licences and unlock those loco's in the base game. On consoles the route picker does not show routes from newest to oldest, it's just random. I would prefer that I can favourite the ones I want to play so they appear on top so they are easy accessible. Preferably I can delete routes I don' want to play but still keep the rolling stock. It would be even nicer that I can immediately recognise missing DLC for layers etc. UI wise there is still a lot of room for improvement. That said: Very nice DLC releases, keep them coming!
The base locos per route could have something to say wich is base of that route so when new routes/players we can identify the locos that are a part of that route or subs/layers.
There is not much to complain about this game anymore. So playing the game is more relaxing than discussing why you like a game But the DLC mess still is something worth complaining about
I usually select a variant of the loco/train that works best... for some locos it can be lets say Dresden Riesa variant, for some sth else... and some models are just fcked up - like BR185 red from Kassel Wurzburg that has bugged Sifa
It's the Rosenheim DLC that really started to boggle my mind about how weird this whole DLC situation is. I saw all these locos appear from older DLC which was an amazing experience but most of these routes I'm not gonna play anymore so why should they be clogging my SSD?
We had a complaint about these loco duplicates for all platforms within the last roadmap Q&A thread. This was DTG's response: Q: Why are there multiples of the same locomotives in menus? Matt was able to provide a really good in-depth explanation for why it's important we have to keep locomotives separate in menus, which you can find timestamped on our live stream at 1:18:40
