And now it's official... I have the feeling we accidentally rushed this article by a day, woops.

An interesting choice? I can't wait to see the cab car, noticing it wasn't mentioned there even though it was leaked.

Cool, can we perhaps have more modern routes or rolling stock for the UK now?

Oh come on, it's just a loco DLC. All the other countries have been getting those too. It doesn't mean there won't be a route- in fact, I've heard routes and locomotives are developed by two separate development teams.

Granted, it isn't quite as exciting a loco as some of the others, but with only meh routes, there's only so much you can do.

Was kind of hoping for a new loco for the LIRR, but the US does need something new.

Why can't someone want modern UK routes if that is what they prefer? It's no different than all the people wanting a New US route.

Not in so many words, but you did imply that they shouldn't be wanting more routes because there's been more UK DLC than US

I implied the ratio of US dlc to UK dlc is unfair.

USA have less contents than UK, less trains and less routes, I don't and I won't blame who want NS or more USA. but is also right that every UK things in TSW are heritage.
but hey! can't we be happy of the AMTK SW1000R, and don't fight about what TSW countries have supremacy?

Sunnyside yard looks way more convincing with parked rolling stock, this is gonna be awesome! Just hope that the LIRR sunnyside yard will also get parked stock.

Yeah I see all sides and agree with it all. The most important thing for me is that the DLC is quality and not just rushed out

Image if SW1000R work in both routes with same services, we all know that is for NEC only tho :|

Seriously, I think DTG are working on a big route for the USA. I think the reason that UK/German DLC is out in shorter periods is because they are more knowledgeable and comfortable with them.

I'm buying this not only because the switcher looks awesome, but because we haven't really seen much passenger switching focused DLC for either TSW or TS19, especially in the US, so this will be an interesting new experience.

They really need to just combine these routes. There would be so much more immersion if the LIRR, CSX and Amtrak service modes were all combined.

I thought that too for a moment, but the cab and its side window would be in front of the door, on the end of the car and I don't see anything. That would have been pretty sneaky, though.

This was certainly not something I was expecting, though the locomotive does appear to be very high quality. I will probably wait until a sale for this one since I find US switching not as interesting. It is good though that Dovetail Games are creating a wide variety of locomotives at the moment for TSW.

Eh... on second thought, I'm only buying this immediately if we get the cab car too. Just did the "Right Round" scenario on NEC to remind myself about what Sunnyside Yard looks like, and... it's not really all that... big. There's not much going on and there's not much to do. I still want it, because it looks really neat (as others have said, looks really high quality, and I do like the look of end cab US switchers, and I do actually like Amtrak's plain silver and black scheme), but I don't know if it's worth the standard price on its own. Might end up waiting for a sale on this one.

I completely worded this wrong. Just wish the dlc would have been a route or if a loco the M9 DE30AC or m3.

I know that this It's not base less speculation thread but I think that we (US Railroads fans) will get more contents. kinda like DE and UK that got 2 loco add-ons and one route, so don't worry, probably DE30AC or M3 will comes in future
P.S. M9 is too new for TSW

Finaly, the US wave arrived to TSW, great news.
Sunnyside Yard was a little ghost place, so now it became alive.

Has Derek Siddle been involved with this, he's the DTG Switcher guru????

This looks quite appealing, we could do with a proper EMD Switcher for our yards. Which Railroad Companies had/have these SW1000R locos besides Amtrak, does anybody know, we have a few repainters in the game, we might end up with a few reskins, CSX, NS, BNSF, etc.

There's the catch- none of them. It was a one-of-a-kind rebuild of an SW9 made just for Amtrak- and no, too much had changed from an SW9 to reasonably pass it off as that.
