There's still quite a few before the fleet is finished We don't have the 153, 156, HST, 318, 320, 334 or 380 s yet
The ScotRail fleet still misses out on the: • HST • 153, which requires the; • 156 • 318 • 320 • 334 • 380 If we were to have three of the remaining EMUs in one DLC, then the minimum would be 6 DLCs (380+320+318, 334, 156, 153, HST) or (334+320+318, 380, 156, 153, HST). 153 with the 156 would bring it to five. Even Fife is only lacking the HST - the overlap with the Levenmouth Rail Link's construction, implied by Rivet's consideration of an extension - rules the 68 out, unless dual timetables are used. So, I'm not really sure what Matt is referring to. (Okay, the 153 could be ignored, and one of the 320/318 could too, as they largely overlap - likewise the 380/385, but I doubt they'd go there if expanding on ScotRail, especially not with the 380.)
Great idea though in reality it doesn't have any calling points or go via on the front pis just the destination
Just going to mention the class 303, while we're on the whole "Scotland" theme. They were nice units. Also going to pray that Rivet Games never get their hands on it.
Good luck finding anyone else who would likely be able to bring it to TSW. JT could I guess but i think it'd need a new route made for it or a previous route being reverted to decades ago to accomodate for it.
Well they only came out of service in 2004 if I recall. I guess you could make a "legends" timetable for Cathcart. Although definitely a period route would be preferable. AP did a sound pack for the RSC one so I am sure some sounds could be cobbled together. There is one preserved if you can get access to it.
Think I’ve been in that one when there for the gala - they’ve done a good job with it. Got to sit in the cab which was a wild experience.
AP have recorded sounds in the past so presumably they might sell them to DTG as has happened with other DLC. Unless it isn't accessible to be surveyed.
Was there mentioned if Rivet is going the extra mile and update the a.i traffic to the "Edinburgh & Glasgow" route?
Definitely the 66 would layer some way or another 385s class 801 could also layer in at Edinburgh but not on the fife circle as it's the wrong one and maybe a steam railtour flying Scotsman
Yeah, the 66 will be in the route.. it's guaranteed - it's in basically every UK route.... I'd imagine RHTT, does that line get any freight in real life? Flying Scotsman would be great to be fair! Really hope that does happen!
We have Edinburgh Waverly in 2 routes now, so why not extend Edinburgh 2 Glasgow and add the boness branch for railtours. Five Circle should have added as extension, instead of a separate route.., just my own opinion.
I'd rather keep the seperate, I'm sure I'm not the only one that would't see the benefit of combining the routes, when say running a Glasgow - Alloa Service? Or a Fife circular service after the 9 minuites it takes to get out of Waverley. As long as the AI services get layed onto both routes, that's more than enough. I don't see what the communities obsession with extensions is all about. Maybe adding in the Bo'ness would be nice on EDN, and The Levenmouth into Fife, but adding the two together doesn't make sense. ECML or MML does, but these too don't.
Dtg mentioned during the roadmap stream that Edinburgh-Glasgow will remain untouched. No promises or plans but rivet said they will think about it in the future
Oh, cool! Maybe the Engineers Express add-on will get some use in there, and as I say RHTT will probably be on the route, RHTT is pretty much guaranteed now on most UK routes, hopefully it doesn't run too early/late, I like being able to see the scenery while I'm driving.
Wow so I just came back from a 2-week holiday in Bahrain (culture shock, no railways whatsoever in the whole country! ) and had a lot of catching up to do on the forums. I’m very happy Rivet is considering adding the Levenmouth branch. Judging by the wording, I’m assuming the track has already been laid and they’re just waiting for the final look of the station scenery etc.
Its supposed to be near the end of this month but from what the weather looks like we're still in the heart of winter.
Wouldn't be particularly realistic to have the 150 on a modern Scotrail route. They left Scotland over 2 decades ago. It would have to be a backdated layer, which I wouldn't mind on this and a lot of routes, but for a modern version let's keep the 150 out of it. Someone will work out how to layer 385 AI even if Rivet don't do it.
The impression I'm getting is that the 385 is being layered onto Fife Circle but the 170 isn't being layered onto Edinburgh-Glasgow.
I appreciate it's a lot of extra work for the devs but I'd like to think it would be worth it in the long-term. My main frustration with TSW overall is older routes not getting updated with newer rolling stock - whether E-G, Vorarlberg, or any of the older German routes missing ICE services etc. There's already so many decent existing TSW routes that just need a vital timetable update - regarding both playable and AI services - and why not some more new loco DLCs for them too? E-G is an okay route but the immersion is spoiled by literally just two-three 385s at an empty Waverley etc.
I do wish they'd update older routes as necessary to include newer stock, but at least they add old stuff to the newer content. Not doing that, when the stock is already available is worse imo.
Rivet have definitely gotten better in their modeling, but they still struggle with sounds/physics sadly
Well it's confirmed the 385 and 801 will layer around edinburgh, which is great to see. And the 385 services are driveable between edinburgh and haymarket
Who was it saying that the 385 wasn't going to layer in and was adamant about it? I assume he'll be apologising any moment now
