I quite enjoy Edinburgh - Glasgow route with its rolling stock, even though the announcements dont work automatically, or maybe I just cant set em up :D so I am like ok this might be nice (even though Luzern Sursee with its botched ETCS was also done by Rivet, and it is the only one I dont play, exactly cos of that ETCS)

That’s pure eye candy. Look at that, a route diverging into two parts. Giving the player a choice of different paths on their journey. How it should be, instead of a routes that are just A-B nonsense.
Looking forward to this 10x more than the Goblin line.

DTG would have done one side and called it a day

Instead of your typical Point A to Point B route you actually get a Point A to B and then onwards to Point C and D Route

Ikr. Like most of the routes they’ve released.
I don’t even get excited for DTG stuff anymore, look forward to the third party content more.

Exactly. More variety for the player. Pretty much my biggest argument with most routes. Which is why MML, SEHS and Dresdan are still my most played routes on this game.

In case anyone didn’t watch the Goblin Line Stream. It was mentioned the Fife Circle Line Preview stream is on the 21st March. :)

I will be getting both provided I have enough money... even the Suffragette Line, though shorter, could be a nice thing - we dont have a whole lot of metro-like/urban routes in the game :)

It’s certainly a nice looking modern line, the running between buildings, under & over roads etc, and the run between barking & barking riverside has that new UK development area theme to it.

I will get this, but there’s too many niggles in the gameplay experience for me to pay £25 for this one.

It didn’t take too long for Maintalbahn to go down to £18, so I don’t think this will be much of a wait either. Will pick it up then.

Hopefully DTG work on a few things, such as announcements, the new UK loco (which is hopefully a freight replacement), that could potentially add abit more going on around ripple yard, aswell as something to get traffic flowing on the parallel lines. There’s potential here, but for 13 miles they haven’t put enough into it.

I’m not sure if that’s because most TSW players don’t like Metro style routes but I’m definitely all for them. Especially German U Bahn routes. They look fun.

Completely agree. The urban style and location is the only reason I’m buying this. If the geography was reversed and it was a US/German route, I definitely wouldn’t buy it. I buy all UK routes 99% of the time. If memory serves me well, Glossip was the only route I didn’t buy day one, but that’s because I had a busy schedule at the time and no time to play TSW, otherwise probably would’ve bought it day one. :)

    Vienna has like 3 or 4 possible great urban routes - U4, U6, S45 and S80

    here are pics of S45:
    https://rb.gy/au35by

takes around 25-30minutes, depending on conditions, sometimes more (since a small portion uses the Westbahn trackage leading to Westbahnhof)

There's also shorter services along the line; so not just a choice of which way you go, but also how far you go! :) Untitled402_20240211213840.png

  22. Birmingham Cross City and Cathcart circle is good. Yes no S-Bahn German routes. Not sure Rapid Transit is considered as S-Bahn.

I am hoping to see a Japanese commuter (Tokyo or even the Wakayama lines) route someday as the Odakyu line is truly amazing as is other JR commuter lines.

The North London line is truly what is needed (well Barking Goblin etc at this stage) but I hope it is extended to include the original North London line as well.

there are German S-Bahn routes - Rhein Ruhr, Munchen Augsburg has S-Bahn to Mammersdorf, Koln has S-Bahn stuff, Dresden Riesa has some... but not ones of the type like Vienna S-Bahn, that really passes through the densest cores of the city and is the busiest route there (Stammstrecke and Vorteilstrecke)

Vorarlberg, Rapid Transit, Luzern-Sursee, Hauptstrecke Rhein-Ruhr, Rhein Ruhr Osten and Dresden-Riesa are S-Bahn heavy,
    while Köln-Aachen (with N.J. 423), Tharandter Rampe, Munich-Augsburg all feature S-Bahn services.

This will become a reality in the year 2050, when our PC’s are rocking 12TB Ram, RTX 40800xxx, a CPU speed @40.48 Octal cores. We’ll have the entire planet railways covered at the touch of button. ;)

till then, maybe at least S45+S80+Stammstrecke (Meidling-Floridsdorf) + one branch (maybe S2 to Wolkersdorf going through/around wineyards or S3/S4 to Stockerau, travelling along the eastern shore of Danube) :D lol here I go again hijacking another thread with Vienna wishlist content :D

Aw honestly I know how you feel. I’m counting down the days as they go by haha. This is going to be such a great route. At least we will get to see the route in full come the 21st too with the preview stream.

You simply notice, by looking at the rocks below the line, how much better Rivet's modeling is compared to the first part. Sorry, but there's no comparison. Rivet is a guarantee of quality models.
And I also love the gradation of colors, materials they use in their maps.

The issue with Rivet has always been distant scenery. Its rolling stock, trackside equipment and near scenery 3D modeling is generally top-notch (except for too much rubber-stamping of the same retaining-wall segment on Arosa).

I think it's the section next to the A921 as it leaves Kinghorn for Burntisland.
There doesn't appear to anywhere else that matches up.

Fun Fact about this section (and hopefully it will be reflected); the line runs directly (like, a matter of a couple of meters, if that) from the King Alexander III monument, marking the approximate site of his death...

One which, if you unravel the chain of events; lead to the creation of the United Kingdom and, thus, the world as we know it.

    beside-the-layby.jpg
The railway is directly to the right of the bin. ^ Alexander_III_monument,_Kinghorn_Fife.jpg

This video popped up on my Youtube. It looks interesting, though I haven't a clue what a fair bit of it means! It does look good though, the 170 that is.

Rivet's visual loco modeling has always been top-tier. It's the physics and audio which are dubious

The unit number is incorrect but that's my only criticism, looks perfect otherwise.
